I sold property that I bought and was mine in my name. Polk County Abstract (PCA) wanted me to commit fraud by falsifying paperwork. They wanted me to repeat a process that I went through transferring a different property into my name that was not in my name before it was transferred. One had nothing to do with the other. Whether they try to punish folks for doing their own warranty deeds (scolding, belittling, basically brow beating into submission) or are just trying to make extra money by complicating the process with unnecessary paperwork is beyond me but I want none of it. I never said that I do not trust attorneys or title companies. Mr Borrow Rowe helped me with the other transfer and he had my trust and respect. And dealt fairly with me. However, I do not trust anyone acting on assumptions trying to force folks into illegal activity trying to cover their own mistakes. We are currently looking into ethics violations of a PCA closer and waiting on advice of council. What she did is just wrong! And it sounds like others have received the same treatment (Amy R.'s review). Oh, and I've never had a sister, Someone got their notes wrong there too. The "improvements" amounted to removing one of the four buildings to sell it. Cutting out a wall in another building that I would have to replace to meet my needs (a roof was added over the old roof on that building) and topsoil was put over an established aggregate drive turning it to mush. Your seller (that I sold too) collected rent from an established renter, and others. And my offer was $2K more than he paid me and $2K less than your potential buyer. If any have a claim on this property let them step forward. If not, then I am still honoring the warranty deed. read more
