Had an accident on the SS101 a few kilometers from here. A guy hit us in the back at the speed of 100 km/h on the Autostrada. Luckily our car was built strong and we were able to keep the car in its tracks. But it was a rental and there was some damage. And: The other driver fled and drove away without stopping. After contacting our rental company we were told to fill out a report on the next police station. With the help of a friendly local, who happened to help us with the phone call to the police and even came with to translate (all in all it took 2 hours), we arrived at the police station soon after. The officer in charge was really friendly and very helpful. Took really time to write down the case and filled out the report very detailed. They even looked for the hit'n'run driver. But he was never found (the officer contacted us about 3 months later to inform us that the search unluckily led to nowhere). Thanks to the friendly officer and our new friend who helped us translate, we were able to going back on the road soon after (car didn't take any technical damages - even at that speed. Looks likek Renaults are built strong). The insurance covered everything. 0.- rentention/deductible. Thanks to the detailed police report.
