On the 17/9/17 i had a visit from a five man squad who work for east ayrshire council to install…read moregas central heating radiators and set everything up, incidently i am from kilmarnock. They were left alone in the house to do the work and as i am a pensioner and live alone i rarely had callers. They were the only people who had been left alone in the house. About three weeks after, i started to notice items missing, i had been busy redecorating and not noticed the missing items earlier After finding that east ayrshire council workers had done the work i called them and straight away was told that i would need reciepts for the missing items . I replied that as the items were low value i didnt have reciepts for it all. She then told me to inform the police which i did. The individual in the squad probably thought nothing of me and probably little of his workmates as he would be aware that they would come under suspicion, they were only being used as a blanket, also as the items were low value would not have been reported. He would make his family proud if they were aware of his actions. Cost of items stolen were in excess of £100 (up to now) , police said i may find other items missing later. Many council workers do try to help others while other council workers wish to help themselves and as things look bad for me i would urge any tenant in a council property to report anything stolen, however small and let the council be aware of whats happening. I explained to Clinton Fulton (gas coordinator) that lack of a reciept shouldnt be prove that i never had the items in the first place, after all a person can have a reciept but sold the item on. I read the eac workers reviews and they seem a happy lot though some are unhappy with the wages but then again some can top them up. Luckily they didnt take my tv as i dont have a reciept for that either. Another thing you will be unable to claim stolen items from your insurance company as you invited the thief into your home even though you had to as its in your tenancy agreement from eac. To date my mp Alan Brown is looking into things for me
