I am usually very fond of the military, police, and even security guards, I even have relatives and friends in the armed forces, and on this past Memorial Day, to celebrate the holiday, I and my family, including young children, decide to go to Glen Canyon. Along the way we had to pass through Fredonia, AZ on the way back home. Apparently, the speed limit had suddenly changed from 65 to 35. This is a highway which goes through Fredonia. I didn't see any sign. And who is there just waiting is officer D. Cutchen #05981, apparently he knew people would be driving at an elevated speed in this area. He knew I was passing through, he saw I had children in the car, but because I was not caucasion, he decided to ticket me anyway. He came to the car and was very robotic and unemotional, spoke like a machine, as if from a script. He told me to get out of my car and to move to the back. I felt threatened and my family was frightened. The children had no idea what was happening and was alarmed. Instead of informing me of the speed limit or perhaps warning me of any potential hazards in the area, he does the most patriotic and most American thing, fine and ticket another American, a tourist who just happened to drop a lot of money in the State of AZ and was just passing through to get home. I find this to be aggressive, unpatriotic, unforgiving, ungrateful, pathetic act a police officer could have done. Mind you a public employee, the public's hard earned tax money goes to pay for this guy. For what? To add funds to your little town? To welcome more people through? Yes, the community's, including mine's, tax money is going to pay for this worthless excuse for a human being. He was there to entrap tourists. Who knows, if I were white, he'd probably would have let me go. And on a national holiday??? read more
