On 21.10.2019, my bag containing my passport was stolen from a sidewalk café around 19:00. I…read moreflagged down a passing National Police car and they told me to call the Alameda de Hércules station where I was transferred to a very polite English-speaking officer who took my report over the phone and instructed me to stop by the next day to sign it. I assumed they'd never find the thief or my bag and resigned myself to the nightmare of having to obtain new travel documents. However, at 1:00 two plain clothes officers showed up at my hotel with my bag and passport. Nothing was missing! The thief, having found no money, discarded the bag in a nearby park where a good Samaritan found it and turned it in to the police. Thank you to the officers of Alameda de Hércules and the Sevilla Police Department for their professionalism and for going out of their way to promptly return my passport and other belongings!
