Came here for lunch again, this is long overdue. They have such good fresh tasting fish. One of the best poke bowls I've had. I wish I would have remembered to take pictures of the yummy food. I got a regular bowl for $9.99 plus tax and I got half brown rice and half salad. Then I also got salmon and tuna with their spicy mayo and spicy sauce soo good. I love the location and the restaurant was clean and seemed well organized. There were no customers but the staff seemed super busy, probably with phone orders? The way they prepare the orders it looks like it doesn't take much to overwhelm them since it looks like such an involved process to make each plate, especially when someone is in person and trying to decide. They weren't the most warm and fuzzy types, I'm assuming because they were so busy? The food was generally good, however the actual fish, the tuna, salmon and spicy salmon that I had was a bit too fishy tasting for me. Try Poke Tiki or Bear Flag and you'll know what I mean. But again, the toppings were superb, the seafood just wasn't to my tastes but I'm sure great for others. read more

You know you're in a good place to eat when there is a good sized line of people waiting to order their food. You can choose the regular bowl (three scoops) or the large bowl (five scoops). You can choose your base either salad, white rice, brown rice or chips or half and half. I chose salad, with salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, crab meat and avocado. I'm writing this because I see another reviewer with the same problem...and I actually felt bad for the restaurant since they're not corporate, but a small business. I had ordered through Postmates and my bowl came out all weird. I sent a message through Yelp and the owner told me that he/she was very sorry about what had happened. They were very quick to reply and take care of my issue. I also found out that apparently they never agreed to any third party delivery service, so...as an advocate for small businesses... I felt the need to clear any confusion. I felt bad about directing my anger towards the wrong people. Poke Dot was not responsible for how my bowl came out, but really...it was the postmates that went down the line and put it all together. It was the first time my bowl came out differently compared to my usual bowl when I actually stood in line myself. It's yummy. My go to. I've had a messed up situation with another customer once and the poke dot employees totally had my back. I was the only wearing my mask the other night and I got a free drink...the girl who helped me was a bad ass. I appreciated her saying it loudly that I got a free drink for wearing a mask. 4 stars for the variety and portions, 3 stars for the service and quality of the fish. We came here at lunch time so it was understandably super busy and packed. Most of the employees were dead and literally did not say a word to us. The employee scooping our fish and toppings legit had her mouth hanging open and just stared as us, not even asking what proteins or toppings we wanted. I understand that it was lunch rush, but at least a "hi" would suffice. Anyways, the quality of the fish was average - we did get the fish at the bottom of the tray since it was so busy so maybe that's why it tasted a little too fishy but who knows. I did like the portion sizes (even if she only gave me 4 cubes of tuna) and variety of toppings though. Wearing my face covering half way down my nose caused an uproar of 3 employees harassing me on top of one of their customers cursing at me telling me to get the F*** out of there. Just terrible subpar poke. Fish was lack luster. Their mild house sauce was salty and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. They sure do give a good amount of rice and salad but they absolutely skimp on the protein and toppings. The fish just didn't taste fresh and wasn't even diced properly. Your better off taking your business elsewhere. I'm sure the experience might be better next time but when there are so many options for poke in OC why take the chance. read more

This is my go-to lunch spot for poke. It doesn't compare to true, authentic poke from Hawaii but for mainland standards, the fish is pretty fresh and tasty. I like it better than Uroko and the other build-your-own poke places in Irvine. My only complaint is that I wish they stopped serving the critically endangered bluefin tuna. read more

When I politely asked if it was too late to add salad to my bowl, she gave me an eye roll and scooped rice out of my bowl and banged around the rice cooker lid like a petulant child. One of the worse experiences ever! Seafood was good, it was fresh but the white rice was clumpy, hard, and inedible. We ordered 1 large bowl with white rice, and 1 large bowl half rice half salad. I went back to the store to show them the uneaten rice and complained to the staff. I asked to speak with a manager but there wasn't one available! It didn't seem like anyone was capable of compensating or resolving the issue. Finally one of the staff offered to give us 2 bowls but we were already half full, then I asked maybe a credit for next time, he said sure and went to the register, tried a piece of the rice and agreed it was hard, then decided to offer us $20 cask back, and said because we did eat half of it! I did not appreciate this response and bad service, acting as if he did us a favor! If you can manage to find the patience to wait out the line then this is a decent lunch spot that serve delicious fresh poke. Probably one of the place poke places around Irvine and it is reasonably priced. If you're coming here on a weekday during lunch hour, I'd suggest you should avoid this place unless you're willing to wait over 30 minutes for your food. The line is out the door and it takes forever to get your food during peak lunch hour. I used to be afraid of eating raw fish so I would usually get the shrimp. Now that I have faced my fears of raw fish, the salmon here is extremely good! There are seasons where they offer sauces like ponzu or yellowtail which are also good as well. The toppings are generous compared to other poke places. I'd suggest only getting the poke bowl here since I've tried the poke burrito and it wasn't that great and you won't get much bang for your buck there. read more

This is my favorite Poke spot! I'm so glad that we found our go to spot and do not need to waste our time going to the other ones. The husband and I love the variety of choices of toppings. Alright. So normally I'm pretty forgiving and I typically look passed these things but goddamn this place's customer service was SO bad. As I was walking in the employees were on their phones and hands in their pockets. Like with what is going on in the world these days you would think you would be more sanitary and strict with your employees in terms of hygiene. Honestly I'm too lazy to finish this review but I hope management or whatever reads this so they can do something about it. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend this place to someone? Great place for lunch. Be prepared to wait in line though. During the lunch rush you will wait a good 30 minutes to order. Fresh ingredients at a decent price. Update 6/13/17 Although still good their portion sizes are a lot smaller. Everything from the amount of rice and salad to the scoopers they use for crab/avacado/fish are smaller as well. Favorite pokey place! I come here at least once a week with my co workers. Salmon and shrimp are my favorite. My friend loves the Tuna! Line is always long by it's worth the wait. I really don't want to write this review, but I was pretty put off yesterday. I come here about once a week and pick up some poke Togo before I head off to work . I usually get here about 3:50-400, not crowded what so ever, in and out customer service is great. However what I experienced yesterday was quite rude! No one in line, no one behind me, the person helping me was rushing me because she was training someone. I understand you wanna turn and burn but if you have down time at least be personable and slow down for your trainee! I felt as if I was pushed out the door, she didn't even help me to the end just set my food next to the register and left .. i was dumbfounded! Might have to take a break from here and go to another poke place! I left speechless and really pissed off.
