This place sucks I go here every day for lunch kind you about 15$ per day. Not anymore. I made a mistake on my online order and asked for it to be changed I would pay no worries. They sent me to grub hub and then after me pointing out it could not be done someone else says no you have to do it through post mated and basically they spent my entire lunch being dumbfounded. So hard right. They seemed and acted like I was an inconvenience and I did not have there full attention instead I was placed on the side. Congratulations on sucking. read more

It's a decent place to get a build your own poke bowl in Irvine, but I'd rather make the extra 15 minute drive to Pokinometry. We came during lunch hour, so the line was out the door, wrapped around inside the restaurant. The line wasn't terribly slow, but it wasn't terribly fast either. There seemed to be adequate seating inside, though maneuvering around the line of people waiting to order was a bit of a hassle. I ordered the half salad, half brown rice bowl with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, and the price was pretty decent. The sauces just can't compare with Pokinometry, but it looked pretty enough. The texture of the fish was a little weird, almost like it was thawed fish. I was about 2/3 through the bowl, and then my husband pointed out that the fish had like a slimy film over it. Couldn't finish the rest after he pointed that out. I also ordered the spam masubi, to which my sister in law was like, "Don't order that, I can just make it for you." The price for the masubi was pretty good, but it ended up being a pointless purchase. There was no sauce, it seemed like, in the masubi and really, no flavor. I threw out about 3/4 of it. All this to say, this place is alright in a pinch. I wouldn't choose to come back here. But it's alright. read more

I think this place has really good poke, just like all the other poke places popping up this place has a wide selection of toppings and fish, but this place is pretty generous with their amounts. And they don't give you so much rice that the toppings are spilling out of the bowl when you're trying to mix it together. Maybe it's just the other poke places I've gone, but generally they give out a lot of rice and not that much fish. In any case, this place is pretty cheap, is generally fast (even if the line seems long) and tastes great. I will say that on Fridays it gets super packed no matter when you go in, I usually come in for an early lunch to beat the rush because this plaza is surrounded by companies both large and small and a lot of people come here because it's fast and good. read more

And yet another poke place has opened up, and I was excited to try it! [ORDERING] I was eager to try this place out because the wraps looked incredibly good! I came here on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded and there was no line surprisingly. The concept is the same as any other poke place, choose your size (large = 5 scoops, regular = 3 scoops, small = 2 scoops, or a wrap, which is the same price as the regular). You then choose your base (salad, chips, white/brown), choose your sides (cilantro, cucumber, onion, crab meat, and avocado (none of these cost extra), and then choose your protein! (shrimp, tuna, salmon, yellow tail, octopus, scallop). Then you pick your sauces and toppings and you're good to go. [FOOD] I got a regular bowl with brown rice, two scoops of salmon, and one scoop of tuna. There was a plethora of sauces when I arrived at the seasoning and sauce station, but I chose the house sauce (spicy), and the spicy mayo. I didn't really like the spicy mayo as much as I did at Pokinometry. I was slightly disappointed in the scoops of salmon and tuna I got. The person making my bowl didn't fill the whole scooper up, and the scoops aren't that big. To summarize, I think this place is better than Poke Monster in Tustin, but not as great as Pokinometry in Anaheim. I'll consider trying this place again for a wrap instead of a bowl. read more

Today I was looking for something to eat in that center and there was no line (looked like everyone was at Croutons getting soup) so I went in and ordered. The fish is fresh and there are plenty of choices. I like when they make Poke in front of you rather than those places where you order and they go in the back. I do not like when they up charge for every little thing. I understand charging more for Blue Fin tuna, but for smelt eggs? "If I dont get avacaldo can I get an extra scoop of smelt eggs?" "NO" Also, thje Miso soup was all just broth and only half full. I can buy that anywhare for 50 cents. So 4 stars - .5 for upcharges and miso-broth. read more

Onto another poke place for me. I left work late and I didn't know where else to eat or what's open. This place was close to work and it was healthy, so I went for it. I love poke, so it couldn't go wrong! I was a bit frazzled when I went in because I was rushing to go home. The process was pretty easy, but because it was my first time I was all over the place. You get 4 choices to choose from for you base, I made mine a poke salad. I got the 5 scoops because I thought I was hungry, which I was but it ended up to be too much for me. They give you a side of crab salad and I had ask for avocado, but not sure if they charged me for it. Most likely they did. Overall it was an easy process, just like subway or chipotle, point at what you want and what you don't want. The price is reasonable as well. I think this place is the best so far, since I've been to several poke places since I moved back. They have a few types of sauces like any other places, but the guy said I could mix it. So I asked him his fav and he said the house sauce and the spicy mayo. It didn't disappoint. I scarfed it down when I got home. Delicious, satisfying, and overly stuffed! I will go back! read more

I didn't get to write my review for Poke Dot earlier today, so I'm doing it now. Came to eat here for the first time with my coworker for lunch today and I fell in love with this place. I will say that if you are planning to have lunch here, come early around 11 am. We arrived at about 11:20 am and the line was out the door. Here's what you get! For a regular bowl $8.75 you can choose 3 scoops of protein and for a large bowl at $10.75 you can choose 5 scoops of protein. That's an awesome deal! I've been to other poke joints where they charge up to $13 bucks for a regular bowl and only 2 scoops of protein. Also, Avocado is included with your bowl and not an extra. The fish is fresh and the portions were pretty big. For your base you can choose from salad, brown rice, white rice or chips. Toppings you get to choose cucumber, onions, avocado, cilantro, or crab meat. Protein choices are Salmon, Albacore, Shrimp, Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Octopus, and Yellow Tail, I believe. I can't remember the rest of the toppings or sauces, sorry folks. All I know is that I love this place and I will be coming back for sure! read more

I was starving after work and decided to give Poke Dot a try. I chose to go with three scoops of white rice which is the regular bowl. They have a decent selection of sides; I asked the server to top my bowl with chunks of cucumber/avocado, leaves of cilantro, and shreds of imitation crab meat. Now here comes the good part, the actual protein. I topped the rice and sides with some thick chunks of tuna, scallops, yellowtail, shrimp, and octopus. The seafood was fairly fresh in quality. The yellowtail was the seasonal fish and star of the show; it really stood out with its citrusy ponzu sauce layering. I went easy on the toppings, adding some simple green onion for a pungent flavor as well as masago on top of the leafy salad greens (capelin roe). The spicy mayo was good, not too spicy or sweet. Overall, pretty fair price considering it's close to price you'd pay for a bowl at Chipotle. I'm going to have to try their albacore next time since I forgot. 3.75 out of 5 for me. read more

This is by far my favorite Poke place. I normally get their Ahi tuna and they are tasty and fresh every time I go there. I also like their medium sauce with spicy mayo. Yum! I really like how they have a Chipotle-style team system there where they would hand off your food to another staff who will add and mix all your different toppings. The best poke I've had in OC. The portions were more than enough, a great price too, considering how much they pack into a bowl. Not to mention that a scoop of avocado is free unlike many places that charge $2.50. I really loved the options that they had, there were so many toppings and sauces, became almost impossible to choose (I've never seen a cilantro sauce, super unique). Was pretty underwhelmed by my experience, especially given the number of positive reviews this place has. The fish was DEFINITELY not fresh-- you could see from the lackluster color that it had been sitting out for a while, and that was reflected in the taste as well. Aside from the rice, the scoops here are pretty stingy. I asked for edamame as a topping and got literally five of them. When I asked for more, I was told it was an extra charge. What?! This is edamame, not protein we're talking about, and paying extra for another tiny "scoop" of five edamame seems a bit much. While I have to say that I finished my bowl and was full, that was definitely because of the insane amount of rice they put and not because of anything else. The concept of Poke Dot is basically poke meets Chipotle. It's a great lunch spot, but if you arrive after 11am be prepared to wait in line for about 30 minutes (which is pretty good considering how long the line gets). I've seen some pretty rude people jumping line, but it tends to be the exception. The quality of the fish is pretty good and I like the variety of toppings (cucumbers, avocado, crab meat, etc), sauces and extras (ginger, masago, jalapeños, etc.). Not the best poke ever IMO, but it's a great lunch option because of the amount of customization you can do. I've seen recent posts complaining about the portions for toppings, but I had no problems today, so they may have adjusted back to normal. read more

I was craving poke after a long day of school, and Poke Dot was the closest poke spot to me! You get a fair amount of food that will guarantee fullness and the poke offered here was nothing out of expected. The establishment is clean, orderly and offers a good variety of choices to put into a bowl. In my opinion, Poke Dot is a slightly pricier establishment and just didn't have anything that stood out to me. I got the house sauce on my regular poke bowl and was slightly disappointed that it tasted like simple soysauce and sesame oil. The sauce to sustenance ratio was slightly off considering the amount of residual sauce after I consumed my fish and salad combo. Though I was not blown away by my dinner, I have to say that Poke Dot does do a good job at delivering a decent poke bowl with good quality fish. I am very happy with poke dot. My favorite thing about it is its extensive toppings. They even have crushed hot Cheetos as a topping, which I enjoyed a lot. I'm from garden grove so I have tried a number of poke places, but I used to work in irvine down the street from poke dot and would walk here often for a poke bowl. EASILY THE BEST POKE PLACE IN ORANGE COUNTY Their portions are fair if not on the larger size, while their prices are on the lowest end of poke locations. The biggest plus is that this price INCLUDES the cost of avocado already, which most places will charge an additional $1. Millennials like their avocado toast, so we like our avocado. Even better if it's free. I've never had any issues with the food here, it's always been fresh and delicious. All pros no cons read more
