Our waitress, checked in and asked if this was our first visit. It was and she excitedly explained the menu and some suggestions. It was wing night, so when in Rome! Wings are hickory smoked, rendering that fat and then deep fried for a perfect crust. She gladly split the order between sweet chili and the perfect heat hot (buffalo) sauces. We both opted for the two meat plates sampling the brisket, pulled pork & Cheese Stuffed Andouille Sausage along with our sides of Brown Sugar-Bourbon Baked Beams, Pickled Red Beets, Mac & Cheese and mixed vegetables. Let's start with the sides; these are not stuff thrown on the plate. They were tasty and perfect companions to the meats. Brisket and pork were moist with plenty of smoke. The sausage, crisp casing and plenty juicy. No rack full of barbecue sauces here, just the deep flavored house sauce that perfectly paired with the meats. Plan on asking for to go boxes, the portions aren't a joke. No room for desert tonight, but the waitress made sure we knew about the other weekly specials. We'll be back soon(and will post an update) for the Hickory Smoked Prime Rib. And I can't forget about the building and dining rooms. Charming, the scent of wood smoke as soon as you get out of your car. Lots of respect for the historic building.

Breakfast is complimentary with choices of making your own waffle, fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs, port sausage, juice, and more. Coffee and tea is available 24 hours a day and when we arrived on Saturday afternoon, there was fresh popped popcorn in the lobby. The breakfast was not to my liking but it's a great option to save money and with the various items available, you can find something you like. I had the waffle, scrambled eggs and pork sausage and the eggs tasted like powdered eggs which they likely were and I don't eat a lot of pork but prefer pork bacon versus pork sausage. The taste of bacon is better for me. I had a room on the second floor, room 204 to be exact. TIP: Avoid this room if you want to open the shades and see outside. This room looks directly at the front entrance overhang so you get to see the roof of the entrance and a little of the driveway. Just terrible. This is approximately 21 minute drive from Blue Mountain Skin Resort.

So after moving rooms and trying to go back to bed i get woken up by an air chisel 2 rooms over constantly going off and am told at the front desk that they cant switch me to another room. I stayed here recently with my older teen, and --- while I acknowledge "you get what you pay for", some hiccups occurred. Location was the top reason I booked this hotel, just bear in mind if you're staying here that the turn is on a large one-way road (READ: cars zooming by) with a sharp right turn to pull in. Slow down way ahead of time do your fellow drivers behind you know. If you miss it, you'll have to go down the road and make a big circle to loop around. The Positives- We had a generally pleasant stay, largely due to the proximity to the highway, the local ski resort (20 mins from Blue Mountain), and thanks to the 24/7 refreshment station (Coffee/Tea/ Hot H2O/Milk) and the complimentary breakfast. WiFi was also decent enough that my son was able to game for a little bit. BreakfastL a) Grab-n-Go- Very convenient options like pre-packed hard-boiled eggs, string cheese, and cups of Quaker oats. b) Hot Options:-DIY waffles, cheese omelets, and sausage links. c) All-Day Access- Free milk, coffee, tea, and dry cereal available throughout the day. Honorable Mention- The pool, hot tub, and gym looked clean and well-maintained, though we didn't use them. Areas for Improvement- The room's cleanliness was disappointing. We found leftover potato chips, red tinsel, and rose petals on the carpet from the previous guests--perhaps leftover from a previous Valentine's Party, but it clearly hadn't been vacuumed. More concerning was a visible brown stain on the mattress protector of one of the Queen beds. While the front desk noted it was just a "bedbug cover," it was unappealing that we placed an extra flat sheet over it for peace of mind. Additionally, the walls are quite thin; be prepared to hear your neighbors. Further, the bulk toiletry bottles in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) were very difficult to squeeze and yielded little output. The shower only had Shampoo & Conditioner, so if you are a body-wash user, bring your own. Also, TV kept glitching in/out while we were watching the Olympics (this might be more annoying if you paid for media). Again, while I wasn't expecting high-end luxury during my stay, some of this stuff was basic. The Verdict- Despite the hiccups with housekeeping, the amenities are solid. The pool and gym areas looked very clean and well-used by other families. If you're looking for a budget-friendly stay with a great breakfast, this is a decent choice--just double-check the vacuuming! Overall, it's a decent value stay if you prioritize a good breakfast and a budget-friendly price.

The service is not what it seems. We checked in before 3pm and during check in I specially asked please make up the trundle bed for my kids. We came back at night and nothing done. Requested towels and wasn't there either. I'm not expecting 5 star but they gave us complete attitudes. And lied several times. Said why didn't YOU tell us earlier. But we did and we even saw you write it down. Then said well housekeeping left for the day and they were gone. You missed it. How when they were walking around and such when we checked and asked for it? Then kept lying that she was the only one there. We just walked in and there was a guy and a girl. Then we had to go make our own bed and go downstairs to get the sheets. She disappeared and there was the same guy I spoke to. No one apologized, just here are your sheets and towels. Then continued lying that housekeeping leaves at 5 and we said but we checked in before 3. Well they left sometimes early sometimes late. Meanwhile we saw them everywhere when we checked in. On top of that none of the workers gave us their names and we couldn't speak to a manager bc they also left. Everyone left except for these two idiots who continues to lie instead of just owning up to their mistakes. Sometimes that could be more forgivable. On but wait, he just literally left in the middle of the convo LOL. Turned around and left. That's it I don't give a sh*t. Take the sheets and put your bed together or don't, bc he can care less. Also there were hairs on the toilet and sofa too. I wasn't even going to gripe about that but since I'm already here. I'm pretty sure a lot of these reviews are just plain fake so good luck staying here.

The inn is beautifully decorated and does a wonderful job of preserving the town's rich history. One of my favorite touches was the collection of autographed photos throughout the entrance area, showcasing the many artists, musicians, and notable guests who have stayed here over the years. The location couldn't be better. Situated right on Broadway, you're within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, galleries, and attractions that make Jim Thorpe such a special destination. We spent hours exploring the town and loved being able to return to the inn whenever we wanted to relax. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated. It featured a cozy queen-size bed, two cushioned lounge chairs perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing, and a large swivel-mounted TV with streaming capabilities. The room had a warm and inviting feel that fit perfectly with the historic atmosphere of the inn. The staff truly made our stay memorable. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions and even supplied a handy map of Broadway highlighting all the shops and points of interest. If you're planning a visit to Jim Thorpe, I highly recommend staying here. The combination of historic charm, comfortable accommodations, outstanding service, and a prime downtown location makes this inn the perfect home base for exploring one of Pennsylvania's most beautiful towns.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.
