I have been to a few of the events: one was the Central Neighborhood front porch concerts and treats- it was fun. The other event was as a volunteer (full disclosure) for their plein air paint out as part of Paint Grand Traverse. Oh, I think everyone should volunteer for this, but that's my love of the arts speaking. As more of a dreamer than a do-er, I'm pretty much in awe of those who *do.* Lastly, this evening I was here for the TC Ticker's 'Recess' event. I'd consider going to another of their events, the venues rotate. There were beverage tickets (imbibe if you don't have to work later, as I did) and yummy treats from Maxbauer's and Raduno. I guess I networked, but I consider it more a polishing/fine-tuning of extremely rusty social skills. I am a busy and introverted human, therefore I don't get out much, lol. But, when I do get out, it's because I have high expectations. And, this venue and event both proved themselves to be enjoyable.

Customer service was excellent. They wrapped the piece I bought so that I could easily take it on a plane and talked me out of shipping it. They were right - had no problem taking it on board and by nightfall it was hanging in my kitchen window. Will return next time I'm in the area.

Fine, hand-crafted jewelry; sculptures in metal, wood, and clay; fiber arts; and watercolors stand out most for me. Kim Bazemore, the owner of Cog's Creek, is an open and welcoming personality. She has a clear respect and love of the arts evident in its presentation and depth. I love going into the space because it feels good and gives me a chance to really look and appreciate the work, which I very much do!

We did a walk-in and all that was available were the last two bar seats. No problem for us. Didn't realize one of the seats was directly in front of the service bar. We had a nice bartender greet us, take our order then disappear. 20 minutes later I look out the window and he is working the outside bar. No notice no real coverage. Had to trade my lunch menu, delivered by Houdini, for a dinner menu. We had an easy order. $16 wedge salad with microwave chicken add-on for another $14. Total for a salad $30. We were told the chicken would be two breast pieces. Must of have been a B-cup chicken. Our other entree was the carbonara. It was more like a pesto with peas added. The center of the dish was hot and the outer part was room temperature. Can we say microwave? Needless to say for a $150 meal and drinks it was a terrible disappointment.
