They charged me double for my purchase at our State Fair and will not respond to my messages.

Like the other reviewers, I found that this company will promise anything to get your money and once they have it they disappear and you are lucky to even get the newspaper you paid for. We paid for 84 days of delivery and got 4 papers. Yes, 4 papers out of 84. And one was thrown on top of the frozen snow on the lawn, 3 feet deep where no one could retrieve it, not even the dog. Calls, emails, letters, and not a single response. Then they have the nerve to harrass me to renew my service (if you can all it that). I will not even buy this paper in the market anymore because I will not support them in any way. If I ever win the lottery the first thing I will do is start a real local newspaper and put them out of business. read more

This company it terrible, today July 7th no paper, at least 15 times over the last year, sometimes get two papers the following day, sometimes not. When the paper deliver finally does come, it comes in a car with no muffler at 5 in the morning waking everyone in the neighborhood up, both customers and non-customers. I have left messages on their phone, no return calls. I have asked for refunds, no reply, no nothing. It seems to me we pay a lot for old 2nd day news and still pay a lot for 3 day old news I guess they believe they have us over the barrel if we want to see local news, so service does not matter. I truly hate to give a " one " star to a company, but this company is terrible, customer service is ridiculous. Let me explain, I was stopped while shopping at my local grocery store by a sales lady for the Pocono Record to join for delivery, I Choice weekend delivery and stated I only would join if I could receive the paper tube for my newspaper to be delivered in, have in mind this was back in June. I was instructed delivery and tube would be started within 14 days, my paperwork even had "tube " written across the top. So the paper delivery started and no tube for the paper to be delivered in. To make a long story short, after multiple weekends with no sales advertisements or coupons in the paper, and over 5 different calls to the company and spoke with 5 different supervisors, who refused to give there extension, but each promised my tube would be delivered and installed that weekend, and as you can see it's six months later and no tube and this past weekend was my last straw, when again received no paper. Called customer service again and they don't have an excuse and don't even say they are sorry when I explained my frustration . So I canceled my subscription, and now remember why I canceled years ago. Will never try them again, and recommend anyone who wants to try, to stay away... read more

If you could give zero stars this company deserves it. The customer service is by far the worst I have ever encountered . Every time you speak to them you get either someone who couldn't be bothered trying to rectify their billing issues or someone that doesn't tell you all the information.You get a different answer to the same question from every rep . read more

I wish they had a zero star basis to vote. Customer service is horrible. No one there seems to know what is going on. They cannot answer your questions. This "paper" is a disgrace. Over the years the paper has removed from their content various information columns that I looked forward to reading. These removals were done without any warning. Nevertheless, I stuck it out as I understood that the print media is in trouble today due to the internet. I support the print media but there is a limit. It seems like every few months, the paper raises the subscription price. They talk about "premium" issues and the extra cost to the subscriber. Who asked for these? The premium issues that I could identify had no interest to me whatsoever. The local news is a joke. Not too long ago, I witnessed the local police chasing a criminal who fired at the police and was wounded by the return police fire and nothing of this ever appeared in the Pocono Record (PR). Apparently, the PR does not think that this is newsworthy. The PR, I understand is printed in New York and shipped here every day. Sometimes it apparently does not make it on time to be delivered. Last year I received many papers the day after. In today's world the news in print media is old when you get it on time. Getting it the days after makes it useless. This Saturday, I did not receive the Sunday supplement (Comics etc) and this was never delivered subsequently. I cancelled my subscription today and ended the misery. read more

I have been a home delivery customer of the Pocono Record for over 30 years. I am old fashioned in the fact that I still like to get the local news, ads, etc. in paper form as I get all of the world news in an online format. For the past 3 weeks the newspaper has not been delivered to my home 8 times now. I have continued to contact the Pocono Record by the phone to notify them of this and to get refunds on the missed papers. No one has reached out or communicated with me in any shape or form. I know our society is continuing to get rid of "old" forms of communication, but to be ignored is not acceptable. The format of the paper has changed radically and not in a good way. Absolutely the worst newspaper company I've ever had to deal with. There is no way to contact them about any issue that you may have. If you go to their website and call ANY , phone number that they provide. The phone call either goes to a voicemail or they say that the number is not a working number. I've never been so frustrated in my life. I have tried EVERY phone number and on different days and yet no answer. They have sales people call you and give you all kinds of deals and when they hang up that's the last time that you will talk to any real person. The service they provide is not worth the money they charge.They will not deliver to the house.They put a box at the end of my road so I have to walk to get the paper which I was OK with. Who Can't use some exercise? Today I have walked to the box twice and no paper. Tomorrow I might get two or not. My carrier can't seem to get on a schedule and some days they just do not show up at all.The billing is off the wall I didn't receive a paper for three days so I thought I owed them money so I went on line and payed them on 22nd June. I just got another bill in the mail for July 17th. I do not know when I'm paid and when I'm not. You can't call no one its all automated. If you do get a human on the phone they are from over seas and can not help you any way. read more

I have not been able to get a paper delivered for 11 days. Had a vacation stop that they never restarted. Have spoken with 3 different customer service reps who promise to fix but don't. Received answer to email promising to fix and nothing done. Whoever runs the circulation department should be replaced. read more

The customer service at the Pocono Record is consistently the worst imaginable. It is almost as if they are trying to be as bad as they possibly can be. I have experienced a pattern of laziness, dishonesty, and apathy when dealing with these people for the last 15 years. They have numerous ways to attempt to rip off their customers. If you don't watch and check on their every move they will steal as much from you as they can get away with. When you catch them they try to make it look like it is your fault. I have had an account with the Tampa Bay Times for 6 years and have never had one of the hundreds of problems I have with The Record. The hierarchy at The Record obviously doesn't care about the instances of dishonesty by their boiler room attendants and it is obvious that they are cheering on the scams they commit. There is no other paper for me to subscribe to where I live. One scam to look out for is when they wipe out credits they owe when customers are on vacation holds. My advice to anyone who lives in Florida during he winter is to make sure you calculate your departure so that you have a zero balance when you put the hold on. Also, don't fall for it when they say, "we will credit your account." They won't. You will have to call at least 3 times to get these lazy people to credit $3. read more
