During a time of family grieving they provide a full turn-key service and really relieve much of the burden that a funeral brings to a family. Full funeral service including cemetery coordination and headstone selection where applicable are provided and assistance on the post funeral gathering for family and friends including location and meal coordination. Very conveniently our family was able to pay for the majority of the expensives with one check to the Mortuary. Tom and his staff have been very professional and reasonable. Body prep and casket selection could not have gone any better. All three funerals were open casket. They assist with obituary prep and posting in local newspapers and broadcasting notification of funeral services on the local radio. We also want to express on very very sincere thanks to Sherry who coordinated our first two funerals, she is a consummate professional wrt to funeral prep and activity planning. Other mortuary's we deal with in the future, outside of Wisconsin, will have a very difficult time living up to this high standard set by Burnham-Ours Funeral Home here in Chetek Wisconsin. We were burying him 150 miles from home so things became complicated as burial was delayed for 3 days. They transported my dear husbands body to my hometown funeral home as they were booked up so that we could get him buried within 3 days of his funeral which was quite a feat as roads were a mess. The service/memorial room was big and they had separated the chairs in to w sections...so only having to walk in front of four people versus eight. A small parking lot, but I had arrived early. It's a nice touch that there are a few benches out front, under the carport so if you need to take some time outside. When I left I circled over to the other side of the room to look at pictures and exited the room through the south door...very nice that that room was used for desserts. Fortunately, we worked with Downs Funeral Home and the staff there helped us so much. They were beyond professional and helpful and they made themselves available day and night if we had questions or concerns. They made an unbearable process much easier.
