I can't believe I'm writing this review almost a year later. But here it goes. The Açores Islands are incredibly fun and vibrant. In my opinion, Saõ Miguel is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Poca de Beija, located in the town of Furnas, is a hot spring. I don't know if the price of admission has increased since I visited. But I believe it was only 2 euros. You can rent towels, lockers, and such. These are thermal baths. As you know, hot springs contain healing properties. There are 5 natural thermal pools of different temperatures. You might feel a little woozy after getting out of the water, but nothing to really worry about. The luscious and tropical landscape makes this experience more relaxing. I was mesmerized with this place. Poca de Beija is a must-do. It is truly a gorgeous place. 5 stars!!

Nothing like a good soaking in soothing volcanic heated thermo baths! The locals claim it keeps them looking at least 10 years younger. If I lived here, then yes, I too would be a regular here. You will leave feeling totally relaxed. The employees are nice and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. A visit here is a win, win situation. I was so excited about my first visit that I forgot my trunks. Of course, this is after I paid for my admission, and it was time to change clothes. No worries, the nice employees led me to the gift shop where they offer a selection of men's trunks for sale. Also, when you are done soaking, Do Not Forget to completely rise out your bathing outfit because the water is very heavy in iron which will permanently stain your clothes red. In addition, remove your jewelry beforehand because the water will also tarnish them. The location is not very large which is why they limit your stay to one and half hours in order to accommodate a larger amount of people per day.

Nice hot springs experience. You're only allowed to be on site for 1.5 hours, they monitor the crowd by using colored wrist bands. The pools are all the same temperature, 39 C except for one which is 28 C, but the depth differs in all of them. The water is rich in iron so beware since this will stain your bathing suit. There are lockers you could rent to store your belongings as well as showers and changing rooms. They rent towels or you may bring your own.

The grounds are well manicured

Amazing water, simple set up and clean locker rooms. The hours are 7 to 11, it's 3€ each for the whole day. They have 4 major pools and they are all about the same temperature as far as we could tell. The thing that's different about each pool is the depth and set up. One has a large bench along the side and is only 80cm deep. Ones deeper with no bench. If it gets crowded a different pool most likely has space. Lockers are 1€ but are somewhat unnecessary. I suggest, if staying locally to just go over in you swim suit and a shirt. Place is awesome. The gift shop has some things like towels and sunscreen, the workers are really nice. I heard some people say it's hard to find, my advice is that the town is so small you could A. Ask someone B. Drive around until you find it. If you go with choice B then I will also add that it's on the outskirts of town and you must drive around and not directly to it due to a one way road.

Great place to wind down on a gloomy day. Tip: keep a look out for parking along the way because P. Dona Beija only has a small parking lot directly in front. 6€ for adult entry, 4€ for children (less than 6 years old) There are 4 main pools that vary in depth, but same temperature (39 degrees Celsius /102 degrees Fahrenheit). We went in the off season and the stream was closed off, but claims to be cooler (28 degrees Celsius) as the geothermal water mixes with a natural stream. Lockers cost 1€ and didn't seem necessary during offseason Showers require a token 1€ in the gift shop. Wear dark color suits as everyone claims. The iron deposits are quite difficult to wash off your skin, too, as a patron had a difficult time washing it all off her face in the short timed shower. Well maintained area that was formerly a taro plantation, where you can still find folks harvesting the root across the way.

Source stream (not part of a tub) with some greenery

In June 2018 the price was 4 euros per person. This is a beautiful place with about 6 different built hot spring mineral tubs and well-maintained greenery and flowers all around. Most of the pools are the same temperature with one that's a few degrees colder that parents were bringing their kids in to. Some pools have benches, some have massaging waterfalls. Each pool has plenty of room for about 8 people at once. There are changing rooms, toilets and a shower, but you have to pay for the showers. *Bring a bathing suit you are OK with staining orange! The iron in the water here will potentially stain* There is a small free parking lot out front.

Really neat spot we hit while on the west side of the island. The drive down to the parking lot can…read morebe a bit precarious, but once you reach it there is ample parking. I recommend water shoes as the shoreline is all volcanic rock and a lot of it is sharp. You can explore the immediate coastline for some awesome views and then head past the restaurant to the natural pool. There is an indoor and outdoor pool available for use for a fee. The restaurant has a few snack/light options and service was quick and the servers were kind. Restrooms were clean if you need to change on site. The natural pool is free to enter and is at the end of short trail, and during low tide it is warm but not so much during high tide so be mindful if you want a fully warm experience. There are life guards on duty and two ladders available to enter and exit the pool. Not terribly crowded and nice even at high tide. Great way to cool off after hiking around Sete Cidades.

We also headed down even further to the natural thermal area surrounded by volcanic rocks. They installed a couple of ladders and ropes so you don't have to fear getting swept out into the ocean. After that we sat outside and had lunch and then headed back into the spa. It was starting to get really busy as we were leaving at 4pm. It was a great find!
