Michael agreed to take on the drywall in the estimation phase, but I ended up doing a lot of it ahead of time with the hopes that the crew would focus on fine tuning. Pros: Professional, stayed on schedule, completed agreed work, used good quality paint. The two large dry wall repairs were done expertly. Cons: They didn't appear to do fine tuning of dry wall repairs that I performed or that were performed by the previous owner. There were several areas that had to rework and repaint.

This was a big job requiring wraparound scaffolding, a lot of overhead work, and tons of prep on the old surfaces. Richard was in constant contact with us throughout the entire process and didn't miss a single thing. Each and every item we discussed initially was taken care of and done very well... he didn't miss a thing. I am quite pleased with the result, and things turned out just beautiful. We have several properties and this isn't our first time hiring someone for this kind of work. I wish everyone had this man's work ethics and commitment to quality. In addition, he's easy to talk to, knows the answers, and has the experience to get things done right. We'll definitely look to Richard for the next job. If you need this type of work done and are searching for the right man, you have found him.

Since I wasn't in the area, we mostly communicated through text and phone calls. I appreciate how much pride they took in their work, completing everything on time with high quality. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Steve and Jesse's professionalism and honesty really stood out they never asked for a dime until the job was completely finished, and we walked through everything together to make sure we were completely satisfied. That kind of trust and pride in workmanship is rare these days. The quality of their painting is unmatched. They painted our newly installed shaker doors and trim with such perfection that they look like they came straight from the cabinet shop -- perfectly matching the cabinet finish. It's clear they understand paint, its quality, and its purpose. A true tradesman through and through. On top of their skill, the care they showed for our home was amazing. Every single day they cleaned up and organized their tools in one location so our home stayed as livable as possible. Even outside, after pressure washing, sanding, and scraping, they went the extra mile by vacuuming up every last paint chip so nothing was left in the planters or around the house. Another concern of mine prior to the painting was I have permanent lighting under the eves of the entire front of our house first and second story. They meticulously masked every single light prior to painting, making sure it all blended in seamlessly, keeping me from having to remove all the lighting and then re-install once they were done !!! The attention to detail went far beyond just the painting. They truly make the statement "You get what you pay for" so obvious from day one!! Our house feels brand new inside and out, and we've had so many compliments from friends and neighbors. We couldn't be happier and would recommend McKenzie Painting (it is a father Steve and son Jesse )to anyone looking for someone who not only does top-quality work but also truly cares about the customer and their home.

We looked into renovating the kitchen (over $30,000) refinishing the kitchen ($15,000) or re-painting (about $5,000). Here was nothing wrong with our cabinets and we loved our kitchen design, so we went forward with painting. I am so glad we did! We have essentially a brand new kitchen. Edgar and his team came in the first day to clean and take down the doors. They sanded, primed, and painted the kitchen cabinets and back splash. The paint they use is really high quality we've I know it won't come off like other paints. The time alone we saved in sanding is worth the price. The whole process to about a week and a half. I would definitely go through this company again, I'm already looking to hire them for exterior painting because of their honesty, and work ethic, and quality of work. These guys drove from the Corona/Riverside area to our home daily and showed up on time. We felt the pricing was fair for the size of our home, and the overall value for the work done was excellent. For only two painters, they were able to complete the work in the timeframe we were quoted, which was great. However, there were a few communication and cleanup issues that prevented this from being a 5-star experience. As a military family, we were grateful for the military discount provided by the project manager, Fermin. He was highly professional, communicative, and even included a few complimentary touch-ups, like refreshing our light fixtures and painting the side garage door.  Unfortunately, property care at the end of the project fell short. The crew removed our security camera bases to ensure an even paint job but didn't notify us where they were placed. We had to search our yard and eventually found them stashed inside our outdoor cat house and a flower bed. Additionally, the side garage door weatherstripping was removed for painting and left off. Even if the crew intentionally left it off to allow the paint to dry completely, failing to communicate that instruction to us, left us to figure it out and reinstall it ourselves.  The painting itself deserves praise, and the project manager provided our full paid receipt and warranty information as requested. However, better attention to detail regarding communication and final cleanup is needed. We were happy to support a business in the Inland Empire.

Right from the start, Frank stood out. He responded quickly, took the time to answer all my questions, and actually gave thoughtful, straightforward answers. That matters to me. I'd much rather deal with someone who communicates clearly than someone who leaves you wondering when--or if--they're going to get back to you. We set up a time for him to come out, and he was there when he said he would be. Punctuality might seem like a small thing, but I really appreciate people who respect your time. There was no waiting around or wondering where he was. Frank ended up doing some electrical work for me, and I couldn't have been happier with how he handled it. He was professional, friendly, tidy, and--probably most importantly--he listened. I had some specific ideas about how I wanted things done, and rather than trying to talk me into doing it his way, he was accommodating and worked with me to get it done the way I wanted. That kind of service is becoming harder to find. In this economy, I think most of us are looking for two things when we hire someone: good value and someone we can trust. You never really know what kind of workmanship you're going to get until the job is finished. With Frank, I felt like I was dealing with someone who takes pride in his work and actually cares about doing the job right. The work was excellent, the communication was great, and there were no surprises. That's about all you can ask for when you bring someone into your home to work on your property. I'm genuinely glad I found Frank, and I'll absolutely be calling him again when I have another project. If you're looking for a handyman who is dependable, honest, skilled, and respectful of your home and your time, I highly recommend Frank's Handyman. Frank's the guy I'll be calling next time I need something done.
