As a previous water softener owner, we are familiar with the equipment and the operation of same. We made an appointment with CGC Water Treatment for an estimate. Why the interest in Kinetico - high quality, made in the USA & 10 year "limited" Warranty plus The "Love It or Leave It" Satisfaction Guarantee. Today we had our appointment with Willie A to explore our options. We are on well water thus our system would be tailored to well water and not the Chlorinated City water. He went through the usual chemistry tests of water treatment and confirmed that we have moderately hard water resulting in scale deposits & appliance damage. The outcome was a competitive estimate of three "bundles" with various options and prices. Although Reverse Osmosis could be an option, we chose to keep the focus on simply a water softener to allow us to better compare to other estimates. Overall we were impressed but there are some open questions that could be a product of being new to the region and building codes? Looking forward to "answers" and some further conversation. Annual maintenance is recommended but early on, it is probably not absolutely needed and only verifies that the water quality is being maintained as advertised. The cost for a non-back flush system to have a water test is around $80 and takes less than 10 minutes. (Drops of reagent in test tube of water). Recognizing that there are overhead costs associated with coming out to do this, it would seem that a lower cost would be reasonable. I suggest that customers should be aware of costs before committing to purchase a system and what the continuing maintenance will cost.
