Over time, the park developed into an amusement park that included, among other things, the first looping roller coaster in the Netherlands. The park has a multitude of exciting rides for thrill-seekers. There are 40 different rides, rollercoasters, and monorail. Circus and theatre shows are put on each day. This attraction offers chalets and bungalows in the center of the theme park. Visitors benefit from access to the attractions during their stay. The park includes a wide range of restaurants, shops, and 2 swimming pools. With so many attractions and shows to see, one day at Slagharen is simply not enough. The kids enjoy many entertainments with the option to select. The holiday homes are literally on the amusement park's doorstep. The park is visited by over a million people annually. While visiting this park you feel yourself in the world of cowboys and Indians. The entertainment was extensive and we enjoyed different shows. In addition to restaurants, there are a number of takeaways where we got snacks, ice creams, and sandwiches. It is an imaginative world of amusement for the whole family.

Four €15,50 you will get free French fries, free coffee, tea, hamburgers, soup and of course entrance to the park itself. They do free ice cream too. Come to think of it: if you go to a park, usually u have to double the amount of your entrance fee for food and beverages. That's all included here in the price. The park is definitely not suitable for children older than 14 years old. However if you have younger children this park is a bargain.

Personally we were a bit disappointed with this park. The biggest problem with this park is the reliability. Half of the rides are always closed. Speed of sound closes five minutes after it opens. Also, the pizza stands are never in stock. We waited 15 minutes for one pizza to be made for one person while we waited in the back of a super long line. And the pizza is awful. The park keeps wanted to expand without using their money is more long- term ways like better staff, and bigger food ovens. It's still a very charming quirky colorful park with a great atmosphere and rides.

My family and I went to Schloss Dankern about 10 years ago. The kids were little then and there was…read moreso much to do there they loved it. So different from British holiday parks, it's set in wondeful woodland with a real castle right in the middle with people still living in it. When we arrived nobody spoke English lol and we didn't speak a word of German so they actually called the owner of the castle down to the reception as he spoke English. He was so wonderful and even offered to help us any time we were there and said 'just knock on the castle doors if you need help' amazingly friendly. When I told my friends we were going for 8 days in the middle of Germany (boat and driving our own car) they thought we were mad and asked why would we want to go there. I simply told them it was a place I really wanted to go. I cannot fault the German people, even though nearly everywhere we went no one spoke English they all bent over backwards to accomodate us and make us feel welcome, such a happy place, so picturesque and some wonderful long drives through amazing countryside. I would thoroughly recommend anyone to stay at Schloss Dankern, it's a bit of a long drive from the ferry port in Hamberg, took us 3 hours on the autobarn doing 80mph (that's their max speed) but it truly was one of the most memorable holidays we've ever had. The accomodation was all pine lodges done out to top specs, the site was amazing so much to do and the local foods and beers were delicious and mega cheap. Go there and enjoy.
