My FAVORITE orchard!! The food they serve here, although "concession style" food, is so good. I would come here for dinner, LOL. My favorite dish is the caramel apple fondue. Basically a caramel apple, but so much easier to eat. The cashiers are so kind, and answer all your questions about which rows of apples to pick, etc. They also have QR code maps posted around to help with this too! As for the apple picking, the orchard itself is pretty large that you don't run into other families while picking. (My husband actually proposed here and it was completely private) They have wagons for their pumpkins patch, as well as a free tractor to the patch. They do have a playground for kids as well. Overall, I will return year over year!

Still one of my top orchards in the area! It's not too packed- the cafe offers tons of your favorites at a lower price than other orchards. They have plenty of trees for u pick as well. Staff are friendly and move through any line quickly!

Our first time coming to this Orchard. The parking was not terrible, it was easy to get in and out. The service was outstanding, they were friendly and efficient. The selection of food choices and apples is great! We got 2 bags and filled it with different types of apples. The prices are great and worth it. It's family-friendly and would recommend this place to bring your family and friends.

Pleasant View Orchard is a smaller orchard. I came here with a field trip for first grade students. The students had an opportunity to try apple cider. They were provided a place to eat lunch and enjoyed the nice play area. They then were given little bags to pick apples from designated trees. The farm store was nice. It was an enjoyable field trip.

My favorite place to get an apple cider slushie. The fried biscuits are also a hit. They also have fresh vegetables and a good selection of sauces. I've picked apples a few times before. It's 10m away from my home so we frequent often.

I've been coming to this orchard since I was a kid and it's still amazing! The food is always so good. We got the fried biscuits & apple butter, apple crumble & an apple butter to go. The apple crumble is literally my favorite ever! There is plenty of bagged apples to purchase or you can pick your own. A pumpkin patch is open in the fall as well!

Pleasant View Orchard is really cute! I visited for the first time on a Wednesday around 12pm in mid September. We wanted to do pick your own apples, but there were signs up saying there were very few apples left for that. I was surprised and a little disappointed, but I walked the orchard with my niece instead and then grabbed a bag of Fuji apples on my way out. The pumpkins they had were beautiful and very affordable! We got two medium-large pumpkins for $13. They look great on our front porch! They also had a selection of small gourds and pumpkins for $1-2 each. I ended up with several of those for my desk and bedroom and they look great! I had to try an apple cider slushie, and I wasn't disappointed. For $1.50 or $3, it's a refreshing treat on a September day! They had a well maintained bathroom, too. I have to point this out because I have been to some farms and parks lately that do not have clean facilities, and this was so much better! Tacked on a fifth star just for that! I'll definitely be back to Pleasant View Orchard. It's a nice local orchard to have some late summer, early fall fun at with your fam or friends!

I went to Pleasant View Orchard today for the first time. I have passed by this exit many many times. Today I saw they had a Product Sampling Day on Facebook. As you can expect on this day they were extremely busy. I still had no trouble finding a spot to park. Although I did have to wait in a long line to pay for the items that I bought. They had three different apples that you could go into the orchard to pick today but it appears they have many more that they grow right on the property. I found many things that I thought I would take home to try again after going to their product sampling day. They also have hot dogs and nachos and such. I had a apple cider slushie and 4 fried biscuits with apple butter. Those biscuits were hot out of the fryer and they were excellent. I will definitely go back and try them again on a less busy day but I was very happy I got to try many of their products.

First off, who doesn't love a cute apple orchard and pumpkin patch in the fall? This is the only dog-friendly orchard/pumpkin patch in the Indy area so bring the pups! We even did a photo shoot here with our pups! Once you get there you can buy empty bags - various sizes - and they'll give you a map of the rows that say which kind of apples are grown. Some are off limits depending on their supply. It super fun to walk up and down the rows picking the perfect apples! They have the best cider slushees, Carmel apples, apple sauce, and anything else apple centered your heart desires on their menu! They also have a u-pick pumpkin patch and also have pre-picked pumpkins you can buy as well as mums! We love this place and it's only 25 mins from downtown Indy! We'll be coming back here for years:)

I loved this orchard, we will be returning next year! It's over 40 acres and so much to do and see. Beautiful scenery and the staff was very nice. They have rows and rows of apples, the only downside was that the trees were pretty picked over or the apples had all fallen off. Such a waste. But in addition to that, they have a large pumpkin patch you get to by hayride or they have a u-pick patch and all the pumpkins are only $7! Such a great deal! The concessions were phenomenal and really inexpensive!! The line can get quite long but it's totally worth it. Try the Carmel fondue and the cider slushie! Happy Fall!

Last fall, my friend and I checked out Tuttle's, and we were very disappointed with how everything seemed pick over by the beginning of October. Therefore, we were determined to find an orchard with more apple varieties available. I'm happy to report that Pleasant View had all the apples we needed! If you're looking for an orchard that will have a plentiful selection after September, you should definitely check out this orchard.

There is a winery in the front of the farm's grounds, but I did not check it out. I was on a mission to get some black raspberries. I also ended of getting a slice of the berry pie, which was delicious. I highly recommend getting some of their pies. You will not regret it. The black raspberries were ok. They were a little bitter than what I was expecting and as compared to the red variety. Now if you are expecting super low prices because you are buying direct, I found that shopping here was not the case. You are getting freshness though and if you do pick your own, that is a cool experience as well. This is a neat little farm located near Westfield, about 35 minutes outside of the city.

According to the Fields of Joy website, they're situated on 5 acres in the Southwest Corner of Anderson. The family-owned operation started off as a U-Pick strawberry farm and has expanded into growing cut flowers, asparagus, and other vegetables for a farm stand. They note that the asparagus crop is typically available mid-April through early June with fresh flowers available from early May through mid-October. It was the flowers that drew me to their area today, a little bit of an oasis that just seemed really beautiful on a day when the weather wasn't completely cooperating with the Statehouse Market kick-off that included more vendors than usual and more food trucks than usual. As I noted, this is a family operation - Greg (father) focuses on vegetables, Joy (mom) on flowers, and the three kids take care of the farm's animals. And yes, they have both the local farm operation and farm stands/tables at various events including their arrival at Statehouse Market. They have a farmstand located at the front of their farm that is self-serve. They accept cash and Venmo. The stand is open daily, dawn to dusk. Items include hand-snapped asparagus, spring flower bouquets, veggie plant starts, local honey, and jam. During the summer, you may also see baked goods there. The farm hosts U-Pick events, date nights (18+ only), Yoga in the Flower Field (I know how our #YelpIndy crew loves yoga), and they do private parties/events. For Yelpers in the Anderson area, this would be a cool event. In addition to the Statehouse Market, they appear at Pendleton Farmer's Market, Jackrabbit Coffee carries their items, and Market Wagon carries their items. The people are super friendly, the prices are fair, the products are high quality, and the spirit of joy is palpable. Definitely a winner and a welcome addition to Statehouse Market. .

We started the day at a local farm where we grew up going to. The strawberries as usual we huge and good. My daughter and I left with 15 lbs(I had no idea what I was going to do with 15 lbs of strawberries). As we left, my sister-in-law's friend said, "hey, I know of a great place in Anderson, where they're even better. I researched it, we made a lengthy drive, and showed up to Fields Of Joy... As we approached, we weren't sure our GPS had gotten us to the correct place. Then we saw the sign and got very excited. As we pull in, we see 3 other vans there. Yes, vans, this place is a family outing! We go to the backyard (yes, yard. This is where the owners live), and it gets a little muddy. We are always down for muddy! As we go to the barn, we are amazed by the selection for a family ran small company. Fresh honey, rhubarb(which we ALSO got at the last place, but this rhubarb was actually red, and ripe. The other was still green), basil, strawberry plants, jams of all sorts, and refreshments ALL WAITING TO BE PURCHASED!! I'm thinking to myself, this must be heaven! Unfortunately, it wasn't, we were still in Anderson. We see a nice woman, behind the counter, interacting with customers like she's known them forever(MAN, I miss the country living!). There is a man handing out red buckets for us to pick strawberries in, and then leads us out to the fields(he stood and talks to a little girl picking strawberries in the fields). It ends up being much larger than we had originally thought. We go back rows and rows and rows and rows of strawberries, to where he tells us to go, hands us our steaks to mark or progress, and off we go! Woohoo! Obviously, the first thing you do, is taste the berries. We did it all together... We look at each other, smile, and realize that we had made a huge mistake. We should have come here first. They were the sweetest berries we had ever tasted!! Phenomenal! We picked and picked and picked. I think my daughter and I picked another 10lbs of berries (totaling 25lbs for the day, again, had no clue what we were going to do with 25lbs of berries). We also got some basil, because I'm teaching my daughter to cook. Why not grow your own and chop it up!!! As we come back to the barn, the woman behind the counter finishes up with other fellow pickers, and starts talking to us. She asked how it was, and if we ate strawberries while we were in the fields because "that's the best part" she gets a resounding YES! and AMAZING! We tell her this was our second strawberry farm of the day. She laughed and said that it was Ok. Come to find out, Fields Of Dreams has a sweeter varietal of strawberries than the other place. Thanks for the info!(sweeter is always better) Then we apologized to her, swearing our allegiance to them forever and always, even though it WAS a little bit of a drive for us, and that we would make it as often as possible, never going anywhere else for strawberries. Come to find out, the man and woman are married, and the girl in the fields was their daughter, picking berries as well for their 'pre-picked" customers. Sure, just go there and pick up some strawberries(only if you're short on time and are running low, because picking them yourself is 90% of the fun). They also recently sold their previous residence, which was LITERALLY one neighborhood away from where I grew up, just north of Indianapolis. They made us feel like family. Thanks guys! Weather that rain, and we'll see you again soon!!! With Love, The Jensen Family P.S. I sent the other farm's strawberries to my work for others to enjoy. I kept yours for my family, and told folks at work to only go to you. You guys are the best. Keep up the good work!!!
