We stayed at the pleasant Valley rv campground for a week while our transmission got fixed. It's the sweetest, most wonderful spot I've stayed. Camped right on the river. The little shop has everything you need plus burgers and homemade pies. Cydney and Tito the owners are both very friendly and helpful and they have a herd of sheep that are pets and will entertain you if you're lucky. We will definitely be back!

I really had to use the restroom, so I pulled up here and jumped out of my Jeep Wrangler. Once inside the store, I was told that in order to use their restroom I would have to purchase something. No problem. What did they have here? I looked around until I noticed a sign... pies! Homemade? YES! Okay, I'd have a slice of that. As I came out of the restroom, there it was, on the counter, my slice of blackberry pie. Let me just say this: If you're here and you haven't tried their pies, then you need to stop whatever else it is you're doing and go order a slice. It may well change your life for the better.

ZERO STARS!... INCREDIBLY HORRIBLE experience at within 5 minutes of being there. To begin, they screwed up and thought we were checking in on Tuesday and said we weren't there and was almost going to give our 5-day site away... we had a reservation for Wednesday. Then on Wednesday when we left Nederland, CO (5+ hours away when towing a camper) were planning to get there around 6 pm, they said the day of via text at 315pm that check in was by 5pm because it was their "night off". We had to wait an hour in construction on the 50 and arrived literally at 4:59pm. That started their attitude. Then when we finally got unloaded and within 5 minutes, the owners husband came over SCREAMING that we we "messing up his property"... I calmly was asking what are you talking about and he said we damaged the grass and that he spent thousands and how dare we mess up his property (there was zero damage and I have photos and videos of both when we got there and when we left). The only issue with the grass was horse manure. Then proceeded to use extreme profanity in front of me, my wife, 3 year old and 9 year old and telling me to "f**k off". And telling us how he doesn't want your Hipcamp kind here, and "I don't even want Hipcamp, I was just told to use it from a friend" My wife and I both have video of his actions and verbal abuse. I told him I wanted to speak with the owner/lady who checked us in. She was at the office and opened the door and started screaming at me too. I said "come look at the site and tell me the damage you're talking about." Her reply, "yeah like I'm going to run over there!!" My reply was then how can you say I did damage if you won't even go look?? She really got angry then was screaming/cursing to leave... Ok, we're leaving... He said we have one hour to pack up our s**t and get the f**k off his property. In twenty plus years of camping all over I have NEVER met someone as rude and insulting and completely without reason. My next complaints will be filed with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife department and the Colorado of Regulatory Agencies. I wonder if the 3-4 other campers that were locked out of the main gate, trying to get back to their camp while we were packing up are going to post their experiences. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else, like Riverbend RV Park in Montrose!!

Might we suggest changing the name of this place to Unpleasant Valley! For $120 per night, you'd think clean towels and maybe some water that was actually drinkable might be included? Nope. We actually got quizzed about what we did with our trash. Guess we thought maybe the staff might empty it during our 4 night stay? If an establishment advertises itself as "pet friendly" and charges you $10/ per pet per night additional fee; you'd hope that they would make sure at least the inside of the rooms were pet safe. Not the case here! We found pills under the beds in both cabins we rented. Luckily we checked before one of the 5 small dogs we had with us ingested anything lethal. Cabins are expected to be rustic but this place needs a good cleaning top to bottom. We were scared to sleep on the beds much less in them. The young man helping in the store was at least friendly. The older woman was down right mean informing us that all the wifi bandwidth had been used for the month after our first night ( which happened to be the 2nd of the month?) Ummm. Okay well that's not even logical. Don't worry we won't be back and neither will anyone we know. One star because they didn't give me a negative one option. And yes... we wake up feeling entitled every morning!

STAY AWAY! I stayed here years ago with my family and it was great. I just stayed over the 2017, 4th weekend and was treated like total crap by Cydney. Any questions we asked she made it seem a hassle to answer. Crazy but we spent well over $500 for a falling apart "cabin". #4 is in terrible condition but Cydney still charged us and additional $25 for a "carpet stain". Hahahah the whole place is a stain. I tried to stay positive but this lady has a huge chip on her shoulder to of all people that are paying her bills! Go farther up the road and you will find 100% better properties.

Stopped to get food. One person in our group had a can in their hand when they walked in the door. We were all promptly told to exit with our trash and that we could not use the restroom. We had been traveling several hours. We were hungry and ready to spend money at their cafe. They were very rude. I just read the other reviews. I agree with the need for 0 stars. I created a yelp profile to just write this review. Horrible customer service. Have no idea if the pie would have been good. They ran us off before we could even all enter the building. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. We were visiting the property to enjoy our evening when the owners immediately started being rude and aggressive with us. No attempt at a polite conversation or clarification--just hostility from the start. They even threatened to call the police for trespassing. We left right away, but the entire interaction was uncomfortable and uncalled for. There's absolutely no excuse for treating people this way. Would never return or recommend. read more

What a hidden gem this little rustic campground is, with 15 sites nestled along a beautifully wooded stream! The camp store is a step back in time, and the owners, Cydney and Tito, offer up a delicious assortment of homemade meals and pies! We enjoyed the peacefulness and kept busy with all the nearby activities. It's just minutes from Black Canyon National Park, ATVing trails, hiking, fishing and swimming! We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back! read more

Absolutely horrible uncaring owners! No customer service skills whatsoever! PLEASE BOYCOTT THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE These people have lost our business.(cabin rentals) never have met such nasty people in our lives. They've ruined a perfectly nice afternoon, barged into our cabin without knocking! yelling and screaming at us. Accused us of leaving a gate open which was already opened then called our entire party liars to our face. Tried the polite way to resolve this issue which was not our fault, met with very hateful ,ugly language. Never have met such utterly horrible people in our lives. A dear friend had rented the cabin as we've each had personal losses in our family this week..and hoped for a nice relaxing getaway.... Again, please BOYCOTT these very horrible people!!! read more

It's funny how the name of this place is Pleasant Valley!! Lmao Where do I start? If I could leave no stars or negative I definitely would. This place is very outdated and overpriced. They state they have "free wifi and are dog friendly" the "camp host" told us that someone had used all of the bandwidth for the month (this was the 2nd day of the month) so we couldn't use it. Obviously that wasn't true. Bandwidth has nothing to do with the amount of internet. Get your lie straight before you tell it maybe?? There were pills under the bed in our room, thank god I checked Bc I have little dogs that can fit right under. The fee for dogs is ridiculous, 10$ per dog per night?! In a room I didn't even want to leave my dog in it was so dirty and musty. There are passive aggressive notes TAPED everywhere in the cabins patronizing the guests, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, tape on the ceiling of the cabin where there was previous water damage. As if all of that isnt bad enough Cydney is the most unfriendly person I've ever met and it seems as though your a burden to ask a question! When she is representing this business! They are also not open as stated on the website. Everything said closed still at 9 am. The campsites are fine I guess, nothing special but I definitely wouldn't waste my money on a cabin when there are plenty of other cabins in the area. Cimmaron lodge is 2 minutes away. I suggest you stay there! read more

This place is an absolute dump!!! I've stayed all over Colorado and this is by far the worst. It started by the owner calling during dinner to see if we could check in as early as possible because she wanted to get off early. So I cancelled plans to get there early. Big mistake. Nothing was working. No WiFi, no cable, and the whole property is run down. Their excuse was they were "fixing it up". Every tome I drive by it looks the same. A piece of crap. Don't waste your time and money on this place. read more

This has been one of the BEST R.V. Parks we have ever stayed at! Being right on the river can't be beat! The owners are SUPER! We doubled our time to stay here because we didn't want to leave! It lives up to its name... Pleasant Valley! read more

These are some of the nicest people I've ever met, and if you're looking for a huge, delicious burger then this is where to go.

Food and hospitality are truly wonderful. The pie crust is so perfect I can't believe Cydney made it - flaky, delicious - perfect...and the filling - oh, my! If you're within a hundred miles, go there. If you're on your way to Black Canyon of the Gunnison, you have to stop here for a meal. Thank you, Cydney and Tito! (the Oak Creek Pass Road was really cool!) read more

History
Established in 1940.
Opened as a primitive hunting camp with cabins in the 1940's. When Cimarron was well populated, it was somewhat of a mobile home park. During the building of the Blue Mesa, Morrow Point and Crystal Reservoir dams, it was a busy home park and restaurant. It is now primarily a stopover point for people from all over the world to tour, fish and hunt some of Colorado's most beautiful parks, drives, wildlife, and vistas...and the pie is to die for.

EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful people who were running the general store, I believe that they were the owners. My family and I stopped to get some snacks and as one member had to desperately use the restroom. Now, I can completely understand that a business needs costumers to buy from their store and not just use the restroom. No problem. As soon as we walked in the older man and women there had an extreme attitude. But as we were browsing their snacks and supplies they started mocking us and talking disrespectfully about us loudly. One member of our group bought a cheap item as the rest of us were still browsing in plan on purchasing something and they started approaching us and screaming at us to get out of their store. I can't believe that grown adults owning a sole business on a well traveled highway could be so disrespectful to guests wanting to buy snacks and use the restroom. read more
