I've traveled all around Canada and the US for years and I've never met another Greek restaurant that I love more. The veggie zorba is a favorite with "a little bit of both" meaning half fries and half greek salad for your side. Their saganaki (flaming cheese) is so fun and truly amazing. Mandatory: must yell "Opa" when they light it. The spanakopita is also very good. There are tons of veggie, fish, and meat options for all as well as a lovely array of cocktails. Looking for somewhere new to eat while visiting, we stopped into Plaza for what we hoped would be some delicious Greek food. It was amazing. The staff were super friendly and energetic, and the special of the night they recommended sounded too good to pass up. The tzatziki was incredible, the Greek salads were so good -- a little heavy on the onion for my partner's taste -- and the gyro and "Big Boy" burger was just what we were looking for in a meal downtown. The look and feel of the restaurant is cozy and lit well, booths are squishy soft, and everything was clean and tidy. I had read the reviews for this restaurant and was looking for a nice greek salad. I read the reviews and thought this is exactly what I need. The prices are extremely high, but I do realize they have a short season The reviews were very good so I contacted them and placed an order for pick up. I ordered the two skewers of chicken and it came with rice, vegetable, roast potatoes and greek salad. When I was placing the order I was told there would be an automatic tip gratuity placed on the bill. The woman said they put it there during the pandemic and she told me that it stayed because the waiters and waitresses do a lot of work even for pick up? She asked if I wanted to speak with a manager and I declined, and placed the order. Now for the cost of the meal and the ratings shown, I penned a quick letter about how appalled I was at the auto tip. I picked up the food, the staff cordial left the note with the owner and left; the gratuity on the bill was 15%???. I still believed that the food would be great but turned out it was only sub par. the chicken was very salty, salad was ok but nothing special. roast potatoes (not lemon roast) were nothing special and the rice although yellow had no flavor. If this restaurant were in Winnipeg it would not last a week. Of the 3 greek restaurants I go to in Winnipeg the food is far better far tastier and much cheaper. None put an automatic gratuitiy on the bill. I dont know what type of gratuity the Plaza expect for sit down meal but I would predict that it would have be around 50 to 75% because the waiters would have to do more work than a pick up. I would drive back to Wpg have a nice greek meal and drive back to Kenora because the food is better and the meals are far less expensive. The prices in this restaurant run about the same as an upscale steak restaurant in Winnipeg like the Keg, I don"t know who wrote the 5 star reviews. It would be my guess it was relatives. Amazing Greek Food and the staff as amazing as well. It is always a great evening to go to the Plaza

Plaza Restaurant was a wonderful experience. They had a great selection of drinks for my wife and I and they had a good variety of food for our 9 and 12 year old. The food itself was remarkable and the service was beyond exceptional. Our server Brooklynn made our experience delightful and we will definitely be back when we travel through Kenora again. read more

Service was slow at the place we dined (we didn't want to stay for another hour just for dessert), so we stopped in here. It was fab! Dessert was yummy, drinks were lovely and best of all, service was fast and friendly! Our only issue was wanting to dine there but couldn't make it work with our schedule. read more

If one is looking for a place in the small town of Kenora, Ontario, you will have to eat with Gus and Chris at the Plaza Restaurant. This restaurant has amazing escargot and walleye dinner. The price for this restaurant is expensive but worth it. read more

My partner and I were delighted with the ambiance, the great service and the food. There were so many choices on the menu (there could be a bit more lighting in order to read the menu) however, we both decided to go with breaded veal, garlic mashed potatoes and veggie (asparagus). Our salads were very good and so was the garlic toast. When we got our meals, we couldn't believe the generous portion sizes. We certainly will return to this restaurant on our next visit to Kenora. read more

My favorite Kenora restaurant! Great cocktails, and food is wonderful. My favorite is the hummus appetizer with the spanakopita. Anything from the grill--lamb, chicken--is also good. I eat here every summer at least 2-3 times. read more

My wife and I come here every year when we go fishing. We have been here seven or eight times and have never had a bad experience. Tina and her staff are the best. If you come, you have to have saganaki (flaming cheese). It is to die for. read more

We had a delicious dinner served by attentive servers in a festive atmosphere. The menu is extensive and reflects the many facets of Greek cuisine. The Greek lemon and split pea soups were outstanding. The moussaka was delicious as were the green beans and potatoes. We recommend The Plaza wholeheartedly. The only caution is to bring your appetite, because the portions are big. read more

Greek food. How could you go wrong? I love coming here. They have good salads, great appetisers, and it has a very Greek restaurant vibe. Not that I'm complaining. I usually have gyros here which are always good, although other dishes are quite good as well. Definitely worth going to when you're in town although both Greek restaurants in town are fantastic. read more

It's not terrible - just expensive for what you get. It tasted like they put bottled Italian dressing on the Greek salad - the other Greek restaurant tastes more home-made. Food is ok, and it was a great value many years ago, but prices have climbed and portions have dwindled over the years. read more

Does not allow outside food. They wont let you in. The lemon soup was delightfully terrible. Service was below par. But the flaming cheese was entertaining. read more
