It wasn't the aggressive barkers out front who drew us into the flea market, but the colorful papel picado (punched paper) flags fluttering over the curious courtyard. I was in search of tasteful Puerto Vallarta-emblazoned shirts and found some! ATMOSPHERE: It's a small outdoor courtyard surrounded by souvenir shops including a small open air bar in the middle. EXPERIENCE: The shop I purchased from has no sign posted but they're on the right side, smack dab in the middle if you're entering from the Malecón. The simplistic designs on display caught my eye. They had a multiple BOGO promo which we took advantage of. Pricing was fair, about $15 USD each. Credit cards accepted. Service was attentive and friendly. Very little authenticity. If you're looking to buy souvenirs, walk a few parallel roads away from the water and support family business. These little shops here are purchasing their goods from (lots of "made in china") big stores and reselling. Be prepared to haggle. Walking at night with families should be cautious. Lots of people about offering "massages" and other illicit things. There was a heavy police presence when we were there in the evenings. read more

Rows and rows of souvenir stores, eateries and everything all around. It was one of the stops during our day tour of Puerto Vallarta. Most souvenir stores pretty much had similar items for sale: magnets, post cards, shirts, mugs, shot glasses... if you're good at haggling (unlike me) then you can find plenty of bargain buys to bring home. Fortunately for me, I found a couple of spots willing to bring their prices down without me not having the need to make any effort. Every store owner I dealt with were friendly mostly because they want to make a sale. (I mean... this IS their bread and butter, after all, and they do know how to work it. They know how to get and keep your attention, even if for just sufficient time to convince you you're getting great buys.) The rewards of this experience is how the peeps I got souvenirs for really liked what they got. Goals: met. One can spend a day here just window shopping as well as finding good buys (if one just has the patience and takes sufficient amount of time.) As mentioned earlier, it was part of our day tour, so we were kinda limited with time. It was a good experience. A must stop for those touring Puerto Vallarta. read more

The food is excellent,the prices are very affordable,the best costumer service.They treat you very good because they want you to come back,I remove one star just because is not very clean around you,the tables are old not super clean,high chairs are nasty lots of flys flying around you it can use some extra cleaning if you are high maintenance like me,but I will definitely will be back , I totally recommended, family friendly great food. read more

Great shopping district in the old downtown district of Puerto Vallarta. Lots of great little gifts and Mexican wares you'll enjoy exploring all the little shops. There are plenty of places with many of the same gifts and the shops located in the Flea Market area are often willing to give great discounts if you haggle a bit; especially when paying in USD. If you prefer to save a bit you will definitely want to pay in Pesos as the exchange rate is tricky when trying to convert in person at a shop and I'm not sure if we were cheated a bit but the prices are so low and the vendors were for the most part very friendly and accommodating. Fun places to eat, especially Senor Frogs that has fun music, great food and a wait staff that you will thoroughly enjoy. One place we stopped to eat right at the boardwalk entrance on the right side has dining available right on the beach in a calming and relaxed atmosphere. The individual vendors at this place were a bit annoying but you also can snag great deals right at your table. Walking the boardwalk and seeing all the vendors made this such a fantastic place and the beach is at easy access if you want to sit and enjoy the water. I didn't stay in this area but I think I will next time I visit as I really lived the atmosphere. There are so many great shops and lovely shop attendants that I went back to visit twice during my stay and wished I had brought more money to spend. I could say so much more but you'd really have to go. If you love visit a local tourist favorite this is a fantastic place to go. I even picked up a lovely tattoo to add to my collection. Go you won't regret it and it'll surely be a favorite if you enjoy the Venice beach type atmosphere. read more
