My parents live right across the state line from Carrollton, so whenever I am home, I make a quick run over to Cheers! This past Saturday their inventory seemed a little low, though as I think back, this was most likely due to the Labor Day Holiday. I was still able to walk out with some Dogfish Head standards (60 Minute and 90 Minute IPAs) and a Boulevard Brewing bomber of Double Wide IPA - two brands that are not available in Alabama. On top of all that, I found several brands I had never heard of that I wanted to try, but I decided to save those for a future purchase. As expected, they were fully stocked with Sweetwater (including LowRyder IPA and Motor Boat) and Terrapin, the two main breweries in Georgia. All in all, I am glad I decided to stop in Cheers last year, and I have never been disappointed in any visit since.

The security guard looked at me and said "Oh, you made it with 6 minutes left..." while locking the door behind me as if I was bothering him. They always close at 11:30 so I asked if I was wrong about the time.. was met with a cold "NO". A group of girls walk in behind me and he says "oh hey ladies, how ya doin?!"... which was weird because his tone completely changed. I asked the women behind the counter where I could find what I was looking for so I could hurry up and get out of the store since I guess they were closing early and was met with.. "here" while pointing their finger in a direction with a tone as if I was bothering them. Once I got to the register I asked another question about a cold beverage and if it was available and was met with nothing but rude and impatient responses as if I was holding them up. As I was leaving the security guard opened the door, where I thanked him, and he gave me a shitty look. If a customer comes in "close" to closing time after working 13 hours... during open store times... and it pisses you off... get a new job or keep your problems at the door. This downsized location allows the store to offer cost + 10% on all goods. I have been most impressed by the taste, quality and price of their Shur-Fine brand. Their Value-Time coffee is the best I have tasted, as far as plain coffee is concerned-- I have even given it as gifts, and they ask for more. The meat, poultry and fish are second-to-none, and reasonably priced. The store is neat and clean all the time, and the cashiers are extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. Frankly, I am surprised that this quality of pricing, cleanliness, efficiency and professionalism comes from a discount grocery store at this location. Their pricing beats WalMart. Their wine selection is just that--a Selection!!
