We had our cocktails and then wandered into a few stores - lots of cool places to check out. The building was beautifully restored - definitely a cool sight. I've also maintained an apartment just 1 block away for ten years, and before that I stayed at various hotels closeby for extended periods of time. I can remember the park before they completed a major renovation and it was quite different then. Back then there was an ugly restroom situated near the center of the park, and most of the fountains did not work. Also the sidewalks were crumbling and really bad. Since the renovation the place has drastically improved. There is less prostitution and it is more family oriented. To me this park feels like home.
