We had an awesome time at Playoff Playlist live free concert festival thanks to the ncaa national football championship in Tampa this weekend! We really thought the ncaa championship outdid themselves with the amazing stage and 50 plus stage lights, cool entrances, and national championship insignia and branding everywhere. I really liked the upbeat country music line up Friday which included Eric Paslay & The Shadowboxers. On Saturday, Cold War Kids was a bit mellow and not as upbeat as I would've liked but they had a couple upbeat songs, Rachel Platten had a really positive upbeat message in her music kinda like Taylor Swift which I really liked, Clare Dunn offered some upbeat fast paced country music, and Flo Rida really finished off Saturday on a high note. On Sunday, Jay Pharoah, Usher, Gavin DeGraw, & Jamie N Commons performed and there was really a ton of people and it was freezing. The line to get in from the Riverwalk looked really long but ended up only being 5 min on Saturday. On Friday, it was partially raining and there was virtually no line to get in. It was really cold and windy on Saturday and we probably should've taken gloves because we couldn't feel our fingers but it was probably the best light show I've ever seen at Curtis Hixon Park! The quality of the color projector broadcasting video onto the beer can skyscraper building was better than any other projector I've ever seen! There was once a white lightning logo projecting on the beer can building but the quality of this projector surpassed that by far, with the live color video! There were lots of vendors offering giveaways like ponchos, coozies, drink cups, and even chick-fila nuggets with their awesome bbq, Chick-fil-A, and buffalo sauces! The line for drinks was not long even though there was a ton of people as there were 4 tents on site serving drinks. Unfortunately no liquor was offered but they did have a nice selection of brews including Strong bow apple cider, Dos equis Amber ale, Dos Equis Lite, Dos Equis, Heineken, and Heineken Light. read more
