Don't go to playa Delfines for Cancun sign, this beach also offers Cancun sign but with much better background... This is more on the north side where you 'll find less tourist. Isla Mujeres ferry also departs from here. We came here by R1 bus. R1- R2 are so frequent in the hotel zone. You can easily find this beach unlike beaches in the hotel zone. Water is warm, slow waves, you can go 5-6 feet deep down the sea. Good for swimming but this beach is not that big. One side terminal and another side big hotel that leaves less area for swimming. Bathrooms are available here to take q quick shower. Thatched umbrellas are also here and did I add Cancun sign. The world knows Cancun sign at Playa Delfines beach, but this beach has also same Cancun sign. Palm trees, thatched umbrella, and sea make it more photogenic. read more

Playa Langosta is one of the more calm water areas since the shore is protected from the battering waves of the ocean by Isla Mujeres. My sister and I ended up parking ourselves at some chair/umbrella combos that were for rent out in front of the Casa Maya hotel. I was so glad to find them since we didn't have our own umbrellas! I noticed that some of the locals prefer to hang out under the nearby trees, likely to save money and still stay out of the sun. This area is pretty crowded with people though so be ready for the hustle and bustle of that. It looks like parking can be an issue if you aren't staying at a hotel on the shore. We saw a lot of double-parking out there. We had a really enjoyable time our one day on the beach! I'd probably go back here in the future. read more
