We were on our way west. Driving all day we needed a break and a walk. Found this trail online, so…read morewe checked it out. And stayed much longer than planned.
We didn't do the whole trail, just about 3.5km there and 3.5km back. You could go on for miles and miles though.
The trail follows more or less the shores of the lake. Sometimes quite close to it, sometimes a bit elevated and blocked by woodland. But with views or without: It's a wonderful walk. And it's a pretty easy one - it's fairly flat, but elevates slowly. Just one or two quick steep sections.
It's a a nature trail and some sections with gravel. We had our Bulldog with us and she needs her pet stroller on longer walks like this. And we managed fine with the stroller on this trail. Just for the steep bits she had to get out quick.
The trail is also open to bikes, but it's big enough, so there's enough space for walker and bikers.
It's a really nice place to be. There aren't many visitors, most stay close to the beach right by the carpark. So it's a very laid-back, relaxing walk this one. At the start there are some picnic spots. Later on there aren't really any benches. Also no garbage cans. So bring your garbage with you - nice to see that there wasn't really any littering along the way.
It's a great trail. With more time we surely would have walked further. Maybe another time. Back at the carpark there are also public toilets and a café.
