My daughter had been in two other facilities prior to Smart Start and her language was delayed and she was not learning while at these places. What a change getting her into Smart Start made. Her language skills went through the roof, she has been there over a year now and she is advanced in all areas! The do multiple assessments through out the school year and communicate with the parents on the progress of your child. Keep you informed about what curriculum will be covered that week and they have events and activities that the kids actually look forward to. I never want her to leave here! During the pandemic they still made sure to provide a learning platform for all ages, which you can imagine is not easy and it made all the difference. When they were able to reopen once more, they have taken countless measures to make sure our little ones have stayed safe as well as allow a relatively normal environment for them, So very thankful for Mrs. B and the wonderful staff at Smart Start. We are a Military family and when we PCS'd (Permanent change of station) to Homestead, we were scrambling to find a location that we felt comfortable with when placing our child in someone else's care. We met with a handful of child care facilities for daycare at the time and we were SO lucky to have finally found this special place. My son who began here for daycare 2 years ago (with Ms.Kathy & Ms.Erica - who are amazing! ) and is now in VPK with Ms.Gloria & Ms.Mia, he always looks forward to seeing his amazing teachers, friends, as well as the wonderful cleaning crew that he enjoys picking flowers and bringing those flowers right to them just about every morning. The owner just cares about money and not the kids or the service. They sold it as a water park that the kids would love... far from it... it was a gazebo with a couple of tables, a broken and dirty little park and a couple of hoses throwing water for the kids... garbage and we paid like if we were going to a ballroom. I have heard them talking to the kids in ways that i would never talk to my own kids and even less dare to scream and talk to someone else's. If to that you add the fact that they charge you registration fee and some other ridiculous fees that add up to almost $250 for a service that is supposed to be FREE and the government pays them for. Nothing or no one preventing them from opening the door and walking outside. I checked the entire classroom and no teacher. I finally found the teacher on the other side of the daycare in the kitchen having a birthday party for herself with other teachers rather than taking care of the children. Needless to say, I no longer feel comfortable with daycare facilities. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
