Went for their clearance sale and hoping previous reviews were not still a thing as it's been a few years since a review. If you're looking for semi discounted clothes that are brand name I'm sure you will find something. Good shopping for the younger crowd. The space is too small for their inventory. You cannot walk around and their clearance section was a joke. Now, they had back to back clearance sales so they were just selling off what didn't sell in the clearance sale before. Not even one star, very rude from the minute we walked to through the door. I walked in with my with a few clothes for resale. She, Danielle, didn't offer a hello or how are you etc. She says ID and held her hand out. She took it and handed it almost immediately back and I said "really?" This is for previous visits and for Black Friday. I have visited (and will continue to) several Plato closets in different cities. I like Plato's closets offerings. Like many many other folks have mentioned, ialso have gotten an unusual amount of consignment rejections. But that's not this review. 5 stars - lots of variety and stock. I was shocked being from metropolitan. They were ready stocked to the gills on Black Friday and I was there for it. 5 - customer service the ladies who helped me were great, helping me with discounts at the register and on BF they gave a few times-up warnings to shoppers. Worst place ever !!!!! I had some fashion nova clothings worth around almost $200 and they offered me only 9 dollars for 2 matching sets and also and a pair of flare jeans everything was new tags were still on I only tried it on once. I was not expecting my whole 200 back but I mean atleast give me a reasonable amount of money back like $20 for each item. The entire staff is rude and ignores everyone that walks in the door. Their standards for 'in style are way off. Most of the clothes on the racks are stretched out and have an over washed look to them. Its a resale shop.. a place for all styles to shop on budget but they only accept clothes from aeropostal or American eagle and then claim that anything outside of that is "out of season"... one woman even told me no body would buy my shoes because they're ugly 0/10 would not recommend. I honestly wish I liked this store. I hate going in there because the isle's are so tight. I feel like the store is too tiny for what all they have crammed in there. The staff each time I've gone in have been rude and act as if they would rather have a painful surgery than be at work. I love a good high end thrift store but even if there is bargins it's just not worth the irritation. I recently have visited again trying to give another chance...smell is not lovely and I did find a couple of items but one was damaged and one had dirty spots on it. So I won't be trying again. There was only a few customers in there, so when I was done I brought my items up to the register (I was literally the only person in line), there were three sales associates at the behind the register but none of them came to the register. I made sure I was at the right register and waited for five minutes. They looked at me several time but never spoke to me or checked me out. I finally just put my stuff back and walked out. Kristen should really be retrained. I took in A LOT of nice clothes, much of which has been bought in the past year. I leave and LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES LATER. I get a text saying it's ready. Obviously they went through nothing I brought it. I had a pair of 9 west jeans with the tag still on, coach wallet that had never been used yet this "associate" had the nerve to say they can tell by tags how old things are. Obviously she cant. Since the majority of which was brand name and new. Extremely disappointed with the store and staff. read more

This place is always hit or miss. Some of the clothes (and most of the shoes) are pretty worn out. It seems as though this Plato's Closet location threw the "Gently Used" description for clothes out the window. The shelves seem overstuffed. I guess if you were to go very regularly (like twice a week) you could find some great pieces. read more

Honestly I wish I. Ever wasted my time with these people.... they are so rude and make excuses... I don't know what their problem is in there everyone has a horrible attitude. I dropped my stuff off never got a call then when I finally did and answered the phone she was like when are you coming to get your stuff (at 7:30... when they close at 8...) I told her I'm not going to be able to make it until the morning. And she was like OK fine. When I came up here I walked in and I told her I was here to pick up she ok took my id looked at it then set it on top of my wallet.. she said something to me and I said I'm sorry I don't know what your saying. She said if it was another day you would only get store credit I was like ok... well I only got a call yesterday when I answered. She said no there's proof right here... I asked her why they didn't leave a message because I didn't get any call then she threw my bag at me and said I really don't know...(all while rolling her eyes at me) we exchanged some more words and I'll spare you time.... I asked her if she was having a bad day and she said no are you i told her she was ruining my day by being rude for no reason ... they I asked her name and got my money and left... horrible experience I would rather not have gotten any money and waist my time smh... they need tot rain their staff there's no reason for that... read more

I feel people don't understand how this store works..(For example..If no one in the area is buying men's shoes and Plato's Closet is overstocked on men's shoes and you come to sell men's shoes (no matter the brand) it's not going to benefit them to buy the shoes. I have found out it is not personal but business like with every other business. They buy what there is a demand for. I brought items in there three times to sell and was turned down. So the third time I asked why and was told the reason. Everyone wants to sell their items but not purchase anything out the store. If Plato's is not making money how do you expect them to buy items. read more

What an absolute rip off!!!! Took almost brand new nike airs in that were purchased for well over $100 and they have me $16. That is insane when they will turn around and sell them for $50. I recommend not selling anything there and I more than likely will never support this business again. read more

Love the idea and concept of this place! However, they will not take hardly any of the items you try to sell.
