They were spot on about this stylish beachside hotel about a ten-minute walk from the train station. The hotel completely epitomizes the mellow vibe that is Sitges. We knew that the minute we walked up the spiral staircase to the pool and the awesome rooftop lounge, Sky Bar (photo: https://yelp.to/s0OIzdPtDB). This boutique hotel was exactly what we were hoping for in fulfilling an idyllic Mediterranean vacation. I reserved a Privilege Room with a King Bed for $238 per night for us, and fortunately I had enough Chase Points to cover the bill. The room was spacious with two double beds conjoined to make a king. The location was also ideal, a block away from the beach and a quick, quiet stroll through a residential area to get to all the restaurants, shops, and bars. A great find. Ambiance is sophisticated and fairly serene, yet you're really only 2 blocks from the center of action, particularly the gay nightlife area. Eco-friendliness shows up in many ways such as when the dark corridors light up like an airport runway as you approach. Very cool. I was surprised and fortunate to get upgraded to a corner junior suite which was almost 450 sq feet with quality furnishings. With wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows I appreciated the blackout curtains. The spacious bathroom had two freestanding vanities and both a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The king bed was comfortable and there were enough outlets for all my electronic gadgets. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, especially the front desk. The Land restaurant serves a good buffet breakfast. The rooftop pool is small but the restaurant and the pool area affords a 360 degree view from mountains to town to sea. The Sky Bar and restaurant was great for lunch and happy hour. It can get busy at night as many come just for the drinks, music and view. About the only odd thing is pool towels have to be checked out on the ground floor front desk and returned there. With the hotel's computer system, it would be more convenient to just accomplish this at the pool area. We'd definitely return on future visits to Sitges.

It's only a 7 min drive from Barcelona El Prat Airport, 10-15 min uber to the city and if you chose to travel by bus or metro then there are stops only 5 mins away from this hotel, which was very convenient for us! Our king bed room was big, with all amenities in the room and bathroom, and a beautiful view as well! I just wish their staffs at the reception was a bit more knowledgeable about the transportation system to/from the city since we were tourists and so were the majority of their guests, but no points taken off for that.

However, I was expecting the view to be fantastic but all I got was the highway and the buildings around the hotel. Other then that... the service was good. Breakfast buffet was OKAY. Don't think it's worth 8 euros though. I like how you can do a late check out at 6 pm if you pay 10 euros. Not to shabby...

The kitchen is fully loaded with plates, utensils, fridge and other things so you can stock the fridge and cook if you choose to do so. They originally designed this place to be an old folks apartment complex so it's got a nice home feel to it. There is a little cafe on the property but we didn't eat or order there so I can't comment on it but there were a lot of markets and produce stands within a very short walk of the property. There was also a couple of tapas bars that were in the proximity too. Within a 10 minute walk, there was a nice little plaza with a lot of shops, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. This is where everyone in the area gathers at night to meet, eat, talk, smoke and drink. Very cool place and everyone here were pretty much local. I think we were the only tourists but we were received very well and people are generally friendly. The front desk staff was extremely helpful with all of our questions about the surrounding area, places to eat and taking the metro to get around. They do have wifi but it's very weak and slow just like the rest of Barcelona. My advice is to sit in the lobby if you need to access the internet as it was slow for us on the 4th floor. The rooms are not as expensive as places in the downtown area and there is a metro station that's a 5 minute walk away. If you plan this right, you can save a ton of money. We bought a 3-day pass for the metro and the room and pass were way cheaper than staying in expensive hotels. Left a lot of residual cash for dining, shopping and bus tours. Long search online and this hotel stood up highly rated by few websites for price,cleanness,service. This is an apartment hotel,rooms are large come with full kitchen and clean wooden floor tile in bathroom,refrigerator,microwave,oven ,electric coffee machine,dining table,modern TV,large bed and extra sofa in living room transforms into a large bed. Free WiFi and good AC.,clean bathroom. Laundry available for everyone for free. Location is 4 to 5 miles away from city center but you find coffee shops and breakfast places as well as good bakery's everywhere around this hotel area. Transportation gets easy if you buy a€25 euro Metro ticket let's you ride any metro line for ten times any direction in Barcelona. Taking metro from hotel to downtown Barcelona takes twenty minutes. Hotel staff are friendly but you must learn few Spanish or Latin words to communicate. Taxi drivers in general speak no English but are familiar with tourists and friendly. Locals talk some or good English and are really helpful telling directions and giving information. Hope everyone has a safe travel.

We stayed at the Hotel MiM Sitges next door last time (review: https://yelp.to/EzuKZ9XM1a), so we wanted to try the Calipolis since they provide panoramic views of the Mediterranean. We reserved a Standard Double Twin room with a Terrace and Frontal Sea View for two nights. During the shoulder season, it goes for $185 per night, but I was able to apply my credit card points to cover the cost. The reasonably spacious room was up on the 4th floor and provided the glorious view we were hoping to secure. Otherwise it was a traditional holiday accommodation, well maintained but not quite at the luxury level of the MiM. Granted the rate was significantly lower here. There was a more bustling atmosphere at this hotel since they have two on-site restaurants and a swimming pool on the main level. MiM's mellow vibe was absent. The private terrace with the view is really the big draw here if you can reserve a room that has one. If you request anything they say OK and it never gets sent to room(towels). Very noisy!!! all night in the halls and it's hard to sleep The hotel beds are very uncomfortable and towels and linens are old Housekeeping just walks in when the requested towels finally show up. Location is on the beach with a 10 min walk to the town up at the church.

Its positive features include its position across the road from the excellent Salou beach. You walk out the door, across the road and onto the promenade. The hotel Blaumar is situated at the quiet end of Salou away from the frankly tacky northern end that is awash with souvenir shops and Irish bars. Salou itself is a fine resort during the off-season. We are of an age that thinks it would be a nightmare during the high season, full of screaming kids and drunken louts. We are of the greying retirement brigade. The hotel was spotlessly clean, from the lobby, to the pool area to the dining room and particularly the bedrooms. The showers in the bathrooms are to die for. Big walk-in shower trays with overhead power spray. I am definitely having one installed at home. The air conditioning worked brilliantly and left the bedroom almost too cold to enter into on even the hottest of the nights. The room safe was secure if a little expensive at €50 for the stay. We were on a half-board deal. There were two main problems with the food in the Blaumar Hotel. There was far too much of it and the variety was too great. We are only human and made of flesh & blood. How are you expected not to overeat? I put on so much weight during those ten days that Ryanair almost asked me to pay an overweight charge on the trip home. Come on Blaumar, get it together and teach us some discipline. The building is not without its faults. The locks on the sliding patio doors in the bedroom would not work and the extractor fan in our bathroom did not function. However a quick mention at the front desk was all that was needed to have the faults rectified inside an hour. Well done Blaumar! The beds were a little too hard for my liking but that is a bit too picky. The free wifi was available everywhere throughout the hotel. However at peak times it was a bit dodgy due to the number of users. Four in the morning saw the network easily available and fast. Perhaps its time for the hotel to increase its bandwidth. The hotel is situated on the main bus route from Cambrils to Tarragona, €15 for a T10 ticket gives a couple commuting rights for two days at least. The train station is a short walk away and about €15 is the cost of a single ticket into Barcelona. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have every intention of staying here again.
