Yet, only a 15 minute walk from our hotel in the financial district. Service was friendly. There was a bit of a wait for our dinners-- maybe about 40 minutes or so. But, either order appetizers or just order your beers and relax! I ordered the Schweinshaxe, my second in Germany, which was served with saurkraut. It was big enough to serve 2-3 adults! My companions ordered sautéed sole and wiener schnitzel. We also ordered sides of spinach, roasted potatoes, and spätzle (noodles). Everything was excellent, especially the schnitzel and roasted potatoes. We were too stuffed for dessert and were glad to have a bit of a walk back to our hotel. Highly recommend if you are visiting Frankfurt.

The place was pretty happening on a Sunday night. I was in the minority without a tattoo and a penis. Although I was not a fan of the cloud of smoke, the atmosphere more than made up for it. Essentially this is a great little neighborhood pub. Usually when we have friends or family in town, we make at least stopped here. Everyone is welcome. The other day we even took our nephew, his wife, and there is 11-year-old son in for some drinks. The decorations change seasonally. At Christmas they are over the top. Usually there is a high kitsch, but currently the disco seen is mostly white at least during the daytime. Unlike in US gay bars, you can actually get decent wine here. And here rather than paying for each drink, you get a little tab which gets added up at the end at which time you can take care of it.

Initially I was intimidated and whatever about this place because of the location, but this speakeasy joint was poppin' once we stepped in! Boy, was I wrong about this place. My life is forever changed because of Kinly Bar. Here's why: I don't really drink/enjoy alcohol and am more of a beer person when there is a choice between beers or cocktails. You're probably like, wtf why did she come here then? Well, my bf's cousin was raving about how amazing this place was, and recommended it, so we said alright, let's try it. For someone who doesn't even drink alcohol that often to give this place a 5 star rating is huge, ok? When we entered, it was dark and really hard to find seating because it was packed, but we somehow managed to sit right in front of the bartender. When looking at the menu, I was indecisive and somewhat feeling at a loss because of the limited options and I genuinely had no interest in drinking cocktails. I'm pretty sure my bartender noticed that I was feeling iffy, and he took initiative, somehow *KNEW* what I would enjoy, and innovated some fancy drink JUST for me. I have no idea what he put in there, but I had a fancy bowl of something delicious, topped with a flower of some sort, and this drink is one that I will NEVER forget. To this day I still have not had another cocktail because nothing truly tops the one made just for me at Kinly. Thanks!

I really just wanted a nice old fashioned and after my long day, I was extremely satisfied with the one presented to me. The ice cubes are hand-cut, and whenever a bar combined a rocks glass, hand-cut ice, and some whiskey concoction, it's a take-my-money moment for me. The Kinly is my favorite bar in Frankfurt!
