We ordered our wedding St. Honore' cake here and every time we visit Udine we order a mini one to take home, just because it's so delicious. Everything is extremely fresh, delicious, and simply amazing! And their prices are reasonable. They also do custom orders. This Pasticceria is tucked in a small alley off the beaten path, but right near the entrance to the Castello road in Piazza Della Liberta', so if you didn't know about it, you would never see it. IIt's a delicious secret. When you open the door, the intoxicating smell of chocolate cakes, cream cannoli, profiteroles and all delicious pastries will make you want to taste everything. There also is a place to sit outside in the always shady lane leading away from the plaza. I get a cappuccino in the morning (the only time of the day Italians drink cappuccino, I'm told) and a caffe latte later in the day. I like that the latter is always served in a tall glass. I can't resist the croissants with jam. My 5 year old loved the plain croissants. There are other bakery choices, though they are limited. A comfortable location. Some English spoken.
