Had them do some last min cuts to an existing acrylic sign we had made. They did a great job for us!

This place is like Disney World for home improvement. We recently had our basement remodeled (see…read morefinal pics) and chose some fixtures and a toilet here. We had a great customer service experience here, even during COVID. When we were ready, we sourced and place our order for all materials through the website Build.com, which is now owned by Ferguson. We had trouble with a broken toilet and we're able to get it replaced by refusing the shipment. It was an easy part of a very crazy process. The showroom is beautiful and offers many high end finishes. I love being able to touch and feel fixtures since you need to know how that metal will feel every time you wash your hands. When doing a cost comparison you will pay more here for most products versus shopping a big box store. Why? Well they have to pay their floor staff, maintain the building and make it a luxury experience for you, the buyer. That's not free. So if you can stand to pay for that type of experience then it's worth every penny. Their selection is superior to any Home Depot or Lowe's as well. You won't be disappointed!

When we contacted customer service, instead of taking responsibility, they made us pay for the replacement items upfront and told us we'd only get a refund once the incorrect items were returned. This is such a poor way to do business. If a company makes a mistake--especially on an order this expensive--they should be the ones to fix it without putting the burden on the customer. To make matters worse, when the reordered items arrived, they were missing parts. Between the lack of accountability, the customer service frustration, and the quality control issues, this has been a stressful and disappointing experience. I expected much better from a company of this size. Would not recommend based on our experience.

They have all kinds of leather pelts, accessories, dyes, classes and expertise. We visited to get a solution for a metal part missing from a pair of leather boots. Prices are better than Amazon, although they have sadly increased. I don't do leatherwork, but they carry everything that anyone could possibly need. Tools, leather, buckles, stamps, EVERYTHING. They have a wonderful selection of hides and skins at decent prices. I needed leather to replace some on a coffee table that had been destroyed by a carelessly-deposited pumpkin. I found the perfect piece. Then I went back because I'm going to cover an antique (late 19th century) trunk with leather. It was formerly covered in canvas, which can get filthy. I bought a side of navy that should do nicely. I wish that I made clothes, or purses, because some of the leather and suede, in turquoise, rose, and deep black, were just GORGEOUS. But I don't. They carry all kinds of textured leather, as well, and occasionally have exotic skins. They also have rugs made from full skins. They do not cut pieces of leather. So you might luck out finding a piece suitable for your needs, or end up with a lot of leftover leather. But they have several sizes available, which is a plus. I bought a double shoulder for the coffee table and a side for the trunk. I need to come up with other things to cover with leather.Or maybe just sell the leftovers. The quality is wonderful. There are various grades of leather, priced accordingly. The staff here is exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable.

The displays, the soft colors and gorgeous metals were so enticing. My husband came with me to pick out a Christmas present for me and I happily obliged. He chose lovely gold earrings and a necklace with a simple gold design accented by a few little beads down one side. 100% me and I absolutely love them. One unique piece of this business is the artisans in the back, hand making the jewelry. You can watch them from afar and I was spellbound. Handmade and onsite no less?! Yes. Second thought- I can't afford this jewelry. Hmm. Third thought after looking around- oh yes I can. There's a range of prices from simple gold hoops at $25 to detailed baubles and bejeweled necklaces over $100+. I saw a knockout of a wrap bracelet with three rows of cool gemstone colors for $179. Immediately decided I would come back for it later. Hah. I challenge you to find something of this quality and craftsmanship anywhere (Etsy, Nordstrom, other boutiques etc) for anywhere near this price. I love to be able to touch and feel the weight of the jewelry so the hands on, local experience is always my favorite. I'm already making another excuse to stop by. Thanks Original Hardware for making lovely unique jewels that I know I can wear for many, many years.

I probably have walked in there 20 times over the years. I don't think anyone recognizes me (which is fine by me), but I have never encountered anyone being rude to me. I tell the salesperson I am "just browsing" and I feel quite comfortable walking around and exploring. Sometimes I chit chat with the sales person, but I have never felt ignored or judged. It is a small business, many times they're multi-tasking, but that's the way it goes. I have noticed the prices have gone up but their costs have gone up too I am sure.

Overall rating for BKC = "F" - "Designer" (Gavy) = "F-"…read more - Resolving our huge list of issues/problems (Gavy, Heather, Paul) = "D-" - Showroom = "C+" - Installer/repairs (Brian, John) = "B" - Delivery = "C" We engaged BKC primarily because they represented the line/manufacturer of the cabinets we wanted for our complete kitchen remodel (Eclipse). We were assigned a designer, Gavy, to create a rather simple cabinet layout design for our pretty straight-forward kitchen. Most new cabinetry was nearly the same or very similar to our existing layout. But Gavy got many things wrong from the first iteration (for example, we all discussed and agreed in our initial meeting that we'd add a small island to our kitchen, that we all accepted the minimal clearances, and that we all agreed adding a peninsula of any kind would not work; the first layout design had a peninsula!). We found Gavy to have limited or no knowledge of design principles to help guide aesthetic decisions, and we ended up specifying our own details for what to include in the layout design and details for the cabinetry choices. Gavy proved to be a salesperson with some training on the layout cad software rather than an actual "designer". We chose our own installer, mainly because after our cabinets were ordered, we had lost trust in BKC. During installation, several serious layout design errors were found and we began multiple rounds of getting BKC to correct these problems, leaving us with a partially-completed kitchen for months. Errors included lack of needed clearance for the built-in freezer/fridge unit and the adjacent microwave handle - the handle would have hit/dented the fridge door upon opening. Other cabinet bases were simply ordered incorrectly (some were also incorrectly manufactured by Eclipse). BKC did finally accept some responsibility for their errors as did (apparently) the cabinet manufacturer. This required endless emails and conference calls, culminating with working through all problems with the CEO/person in charge. Solutions took multiple rounds of ordering cabinet replacements (including entire cabinet boxes worth thousands), multiple installation sessions and overall delays of several months. BKC did work with us through the bitter end of getting almost everything acceptably done. It was painful. It was extremely frustrating and disruptive. It was extremely disappointing. After spending around $50k, we would never recommend BKC for anything, ever, to anyone.

Cons......The designer was passive/aggressive, detached and disorganized.....which resulted in many, many weeks of delays. These delays came, from the designer, in the form of....poor/no communication; repeated cabinet drawing/rendering errors, scheduled installation changes [by her]; failure to order appropriate cabinet parts/materials. Other than the professionals who installed and serviced the cabinetry this was a long, painful and exhausting experience with BKC. For that reason I would highly recommend they be excluded as a cabinetry vendor option.
