This spot is a great place for brunch. It's pretty popular. I came around 10 AM on a Saturday, and probably had to wait about 15 minutes, which isn't too bad. But still I thought it was pretty early for brunch & there was still a line so be prepared to wait! The restaurant is adorable, and the service is great. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. The menu is pretty unique, taking classics and adding a little twist to them. It was hard deciding what to order, because I wanted to try them all! However, this place is a little pricier than the average brunch place (though they're definitely not making average brunch food.) I ended up choosing the OYSTER MUSHROOM SCRAMBLE. I LOVE mushrooms, so I was pretty excited by this item, and I've never seen any other restaurant make this. The omelette was delicious, coming with a good amount of mushroom. I got it with the potatoes, and they were delicious as well! Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Overall, a wonderful place for brunch with non-basic brunch foods. This was a really great brunch spot. I came here to try PJ's Sweet Flight and brought my aunt. At first she was a little nervous since we're vegetarian--the menu reads no substitutions but there are also very few items that don't have meat. Luckily, our waitress had no problem making the chilaquiles with avocado instead of pork (this may also have been because we came at 11am on a Thursday when it was relatively empty). Apparently the potatoes were great, though her chilaquiles were a bit soggy. As for my flight, the pancakes were excellent. I don't know which I liked more--the red velvet had a delicious custard-banana topping but the other pancake had Oreo crumbs! They were pretty large portions and had lots of fruit on top. I don't know what was up with the French toast... I have no words to describe the flavor but it was just off. Way too sweet for me and kind of had a rubbery texture. Luckily, this portion of the flight was pretty small so I took a few bites and didn't feel bad leaving the rest. We had pretty good service, but I'd say the price is a little high. While I felt full afterwards, $20 for two pancakes and a small French toast seems excessive. I had a delightful brunch here with a friend on a Saturday morning. We showed up and got in line around 1PM. The host offered us a QR code to check out the menu while we waited. There was only one party in front of us and we were seated within 15 mins. I ordered the Chorizo Ave. Scramble which was SO tasty. And my friend ordered the duck breast meal. I tried a piece of the duck and it was SO good and less gamey than I was expecting it to taste. The star of the show for me was the crispy breakfast potatoes. It's a small spot on the corner but they really made the most of the little sidewalk space they had to accommodate their customers. We got a table right away that was in the shade, which made eating outside on a hot day more enjoyable. The menu was accessible from a QR code. I was a little disappointed when I saw the menu as I thought they had regular good ole fashioned pancakes for my little one. To my dismay, the only "plain" pancakes they had were red velvet pancakes. What seemed to be an overly dressed plate of delicate brunch items turned out to be an impressive display of crispy, savory, flowy, hearty goodness. The smoked duck breast delivered - tender, churning bits of protein appropriately sliced for an even bite, juicy! A Quince sauce was magnificent providing the acidity to tone the gamey duck - sweetened with textured grains of fruit renders one to be greedy for the next bite. The eggs were cooked brilliantly as told for an over easy with a flowy silken yolk. The potatoes were crisp with an outer, a crunch with the initial puncture and softens to its center - well seasoned with salt and pepper and slight hint of parsley. The bed of zucchinis and carrots sitting under the duck was well cooked, diced, and seasoned with a simmer over some stock. The two bread slices were a solid touch to round out the dish. Each component on the dish was well placed and executed with attention to detail. The duck may be the star of the dish but the other items had reasons to exist on their own. For the price, certainly a jumbo portion to fill a strong appetite. What a lovely site for a brunch outing - with friends or a fun weekend date or some family members! My boyfriend and I both drank only water, but the drinks looked quite delicious! I would definitely come back and try more on the menu. My portion of the bill came out to ~22 dollars (including tax and tip). Pretty normal for a nice brunch in San Francisco, I'd say.
