Service was unhurried, which is good when you are sitting outside just watching the world go by. Review in March 2014: I hardly ever give five stars. We wandered into this traditional Italian place after finding that the place we wanted to go to for dinner was closed. We were very impressed for a restaurant on the main drag in a tourist town. The food was delicious, the service attentive and the restaurant neat and clean and inviting. We ordered a salad and a pizza to share and it was plenty of food for the two of us. The salad was topped with fresh baked dough stuffed with warm goat cheese and honey. It was incredible. We chose the chef's special pizza which had four different sections of toppings: one quarter was chicken and mushrooms, another meat lovers, another Hawaiian and the fourth more goat cheese and honey. We ate every bite. The chef even came out to walk the floor and find out how our dinner was. We would definitely go back.

You would think you almost were transported to Italy with this pizza, it's super fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced. The portions are huge, and we got the entire slab of pizza for 2 people, with 3 different flavors, and it was too much pizza. Next time, I'd probably go with a half slab for 2 people, unless you want leftovers to take home. You can order an entire pizza (€20) half a pizza (€10), or get it to by the weight to go (€28/kg). We opted for 3 flavors: truffle cream with mushrooms, rugby (with a few different kinds of meat), and a bresola and arugula pizza. My favorite one was the truffle cream and the rugby one. The bresola meat was not as thinly sliced as I would have liked, but it was still tasty with the arugula. The rugby and the bresola flavors had tomato sauce, and the truffle cream one did not. The crust was nice - not too thin; not too thick and was crisp on the bottom and the outer crust was chewy and soft. They have seats downstairs too, so don't be discouraged when you walk in and only see 4 small tables on the top floor. Lots of variety here for pizza, good selection of Italian wines by the glass or bottle, and overall a great experience. Don't come with a group bigger than 4, since the tables are fairly small and it will be hard to find enough space. I'd definitely come back here and recommend it if you're looking for a good pizza an are hungry!

The prices are also reasonable and the portions are generous - you won't leave here hungry. This is one of my favorite places for Italian food in Toulouse and I'll keep coming back here. They have a menu of the day for lunch where you can pick an appetizer and an entree for around 13-15€, and the menu of the day for dinner will cost around 20.50€ for the appetizer and entree. There will be 2 choices for an appetizer and 2 choices for an entree. You can order a la carte as well but it will be more expensive so your best bet is to just get one of the plat du jours. The focaccia here is really good and comes out hot and fresh in a little iron skillet pan. I've ordered just the focaccia with tomato and that was around 4€, and it was delicious. The next time I got a focaccia that was more expensive with cheese on it (around 7€) and didn't care for it as much, as it was almost like a little pizza and had too many things competing for attention for the taste. With a plainer focaccia, you can really taste the freshness of the bread. For appetizers, they always seem to have a version of arancini, which is not necessarily the healthiest option but it's delicious and comes with a small side arugula salad to make yourself feel slightly better about yourself. For the entree, I've always gotten the beef cannelloni which seems to be one of their specialities of the house. The pasta is fresh and al dente and tastes homemade and the sauce is delicious and tasty without being salty. I highly recommend the cannellonis, they are some of the best cannellonis I've had at an Italian restaurant. The cannoli we had for dessert was really fresh - both the shell and also the ricotta filling. It doesn't get more authentic than cannolis here. We were so full from our dinner that we split one dessert and it was more than enough for us. You should make a reservation here for dinner as it gets really popular and crowded. On a weekday, you'll probably be able to walk-in, as they open later until 3 pm. Highly recommend this place - they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to focaccia and pasta!

But the food was great and the service was wonderful. We ordered 3 pizzas and lasagna. Everything was served piping hot. My boys devoured their pizza. I think they even finished off my wife's pizza. Thin crust pizza. Lots of cheese. Hot out of the oven. Great server who was very helpful since only I speak French in the family. It's not haute cuisine but it is where you go when you want to eat well, enjoy good food and conversation and not spent too much money.

But we went around dinner 22:30 so it wasn't packed or anything! Service was quick and fast even though it was hard to understand French since they did not speak that much English. They were nice enough to give us an English menu! Their wine is also great, we shared a bottle of red wine for €7.

Subdued interior to make the artistic food have the limelight. The experience was flavorful from waking in the restaurant to ending with a five course meal. Drop my wife off at the front while I go to park the car. When she checks in, "it's just you!?!" Umm, no, "he's parking the car." Weird. Then when I walk in she says "Happy birthday or something like that." Verbatim. I had emailed them ahead of time to tell them it was our honeymoon and 1 year anniversary. After being seated we weren't greeted for a while. Then we were greeted twice, both of whom said the same thing. "Have you been greeted?" What? Ever heard of marking a table? The second greeting was the assistant sommelier, a young kid whom I knew more about wine than. He offered us welcome cocktails and described them well, but they ended up on the check. What? We had pre-ordered the mid-level tasting menu, but when we got there we wanted to add one dish we saw on a different tasting. The back-server (never really saw the lead) said, "You want more?!" Straight out of Oliver Twist. But the subtext was, "fat Americans" all the way. Ummm, sue me, we are in the Languedoc for one night and I want an oyster in the meal. They obliged. Wish we hadn't asked. The oyster was over-manipulated and no taste of brine or ocean. Forward to a course or two later and my wife gets a sharp sliver of bone in her venison and cuts her mouth. No real apology from anyone, they just refired the dish. Then another course they served us faulty over-oxidized wine and tried to tell me that was the style of the wine. What, who gave these somms their jobs? My wife and I aren't somms, but we knew the wine was off and they debated us on it. It wasnt a sherry for crying out loud. I did my research afterwards, and no, it wasnt supposed to be that oxidized. Then upon leaving we asked for our coat and jacket. They gave my wife her coat and said to me, "you had a jacket?" Yeah, I came to this two star Michelin with a shirt, tie, and suit pants with no jacket. What? If it was a misstep on my part to rake my jacket off before dinner, a simple "jackets are required in the dining room" would have done the trick, prior to the meal. As they were searching for my jacket which was right in front of them and matched my suit pants the chef was saying farewell and thank you to other patrons. Not a word to us, like, "hello Madame so sorry we made your mouth bleed" This place is the new definition of resting on their laurels. Most of the dishes were very forgettable, I only remember one course, and have no idea what dessert was. Dear Michelin, please revisit and re-evaluate so that people don't go spend $700 (550 Euro) to feel uncomfortable and belittled. The only positive memorable thing was the amazing cheese cart at the end of the meal. But hey, any restaurant could go buy a huge gueridon and 40 kinds of cheese.
