I am staying in an AirB&B on the Carreteria street for a few days with my best friend. After a day of lounging in the sun, we didn't feel like heading out for dinner anymore. At 20:30 I headed out, after having heard good things about Ciao Carreteria from friends that live in Malaga. I asked (in very rusty Spanish) whether it would be possible to get two pizzas as a take away. The lovely fellow near the bar said of course, let me sit down and offered me a free beverage. My waiting time (for a pizza prosciutto and a pizza quattro formaggi) was very short - 10 minutes tops. It was super reasonably priced, and upon leaving, one of the waitresses brought me a plastic bag with a free bottle of red wine in it. All in all, a lovely experience. The dough is genuinely what you expect an authentic Italian pizza to taste like, all the ingredients are fresh and the staff is delightful. During my next visit to Malaga, these guys 100% get my custom!

OMG - SCAM - AVOID THIS PLACE. This must the worst place to…read moreeat in Malaga. The food was poor at best but the service unbelievable. We were actually held AGAINST OUR WILL - I swear. We paid the check & I immediately got a message from my bank saying the money had been taken from my account & paid to the restaurant. The waiter said they had NOT received payment & we could NOT leave !!! I told the manager to call the police! I called my bank & they said the payment was approved...WHAT A DISGRACE... Long story short after 20 mins they let us leave. What a harrowing experience over $36, Avoid this place at all costs - U HAVE BEEN WARNED... PS I have lived & worked in Spain for more than 2 years & NEVER had this experience before...but it is a scam I've read & heard of so be careful .... Some disreputable places will ask U (after U have paid by credit card) to pay in cash or run ur card thru again - THIS IS A SCAM..

Me and my girlfriend have eaten at this restaurant only twice and we will never go again…read more The first time we went they got my girlfriends order wrong and then my meal went cold as I waited for them to cook her another dish. The second time we went (which was to celebrate our engagement) my girlfriend ordered a sea food dish and found a dead maggot amongst some mushrooms half way through eating it. The waiter first tried to pass this off as being a part of a mussel, which it quite clearly wasn't. He then took the dish to the kitchen and asked if we would like to order anything else. With both of us feeling fairly queasy I couldn't finish my meal and she obviously didn't want to order anything else. Although they removed her dish from the price of the bill we still had to pay fr everything else. I contacted their customer service team about this and all we received was a brief apology via email and a request that we continue to dine at the venues..I don't think so!
