On this occasion, this was a stumbling upon we were very happy to have happen to us - probably about 5 minutes walk from Bardolino beach and promenade. We were on our last day of holiday and after looking forward to a final pizza we didn't bother checking out the rest of the menu and this brought us to 3 pages of exciting pizza and calzone options. We had 2 amazing pizza's for about 20 Euros (my cheese, ham and asparagus one was incredible!) - but as all the people around us were getting their pasta brought out, we had a serious case of FOMO! The pasta and bread looked so good that it's definitely going to have to be one for a repeat visit. *Bonus note - a lovely courtyard out front for watching the world go by*

The service was attentive and generally friendly except for an issue with the wine. They asked if we'd like their insights on a wine and my Italian wife specified that we wanted a local light red (more specific details given). They recommended a Valpolicella Superiore which we ordered. However the bottle they chose had 15.5% alcohol and was just about the opposite of what we asked. Further it tasted off. The waiter kept saying look at the cork, as if that made the wine taste better. Eventually they agreed to change the wine to something much closer to what we requested but the scene they made put a damper on the evening. As for the food. This was also mixed. The ossobuco was very firm, have had this dish numerous times across Italy and this was the firmest and poorest prepared. The Maialino (braised pork) and applesauce was tender and quite good. Contori of asparagus and mixed grilled veggies were well prepared. Prices on the higher side.

I'd first like to start off by saying that after leaving this restaurant a bad review (something i…read moreNEVER normally would do) on trip advisor, they left me a mean response. When looking through other reviews, this is something they seem to enjoy doing and do often to unhappy customers. Not only this, but they also then FLAGGED MY REVIEW AND HAD IT TAKEN DOWN DESPITE ITS VALIDITY AND MY BEING A PAYING CUSTOMER. Instantly as my father and I walked into this place there was a very clear tone of disgust from staff towards us. The place was empty and they looked us up and down and asked us if we had a reservation almost as if they didn't want to seat us. When we were seated I asked if they had gluten free pasta - online it states they have gluten free options and I am a celiac, they looked at me like I was crazy before saying no. Just about every restaurant in this town has good gluten free pasta and options. Also, I speak Italian and English so communication isn't an issue, more so it was a problem with attitude. I would have gladly eaten something other than pasta, I'm sure they had plenty of delicious food and saw much of it online prior to choosing this place for dinner, but being that we felt so unwelcome in this restaurant we did something we rarely do and got up and left. Didn't even finish our drinks because we felt so uncomfortable being there. It's too bad; I was really looking forward to trying this place but it wasn't worth the time, energy, or being made feel horrid by their staff.

We decided to see Lake garda and explore the little shops as a day trip. We came across Scaligeri's and it was incredible. I ordered the margarita pizza, my mother ordered the swiss burger. She is typically pretty picky about eating a lot out and isn't easily impressed but she absolutely loved it and described the burger as light, flavorful, simple, "just perfect", & the bread was light. My Margarita pizza was easily the best pizza i've ever had. since moving here I've tried probably around a dozen different places and this pizza was so incredible. it was extremely light, the bread was like a cloud and puffy, the sauce was light & flavorful but it was the perfect amount, & the cheese was beyond great. My mom doesn't even enjoy eating cheese and she was astonished when she tried it. We ordered a Red sparkling wine, Lambrusco, & we loved it, we cleared the bottle it quickly. For anyone who gets headaches easily from drinking, this is a perfect drink for you as it's smooth and extremely flavorful. We sat outside on their little patio/porch & it was somewhat cold BUT they have one of those fancy heaters with a flame that is very nice and they offer these red plaid blankets to put on your lap if you get cold. The view is a castle and people walking around it's so cute! the staff was very kind and did well speaking english as well although hopefully next time I visit, my italian will be better haha. the food came out with 7-10 minutes and was hot and excellent!
