Absolutely excellent!…read more The best pizza "al taglio" in the city of Verona by far. "Acqua & Grano" has two shops in the city: this on at Portoni Borsari, and another one in the district called "Borgo Trento". I now hear they also have opened a proper pizzeria with tables and waiters, can't wait to try that one. The pizza is incredibly good. Ingredients are terrific, the flavors are excellent and everything is prepared following a really healthy philosophy (that you can read ok the wall once you enter the place). There are many choices of pizza al taglio and obviously they make them fresh. The place is small but it looks nice. Prices are kind of steep but you cannot deny that the quality is remarkable. Therefore you would not be bothered by the above-average price of the pizza. I really hope they keep up this good work and I can't wait to try their new restaurant "Storie di Pizza".

We came here for pizza, right before we went to a movie…read more I found the place overall ok. The food selection is very good and what we ordered was well done. But unfortunately nothing that you can be leaving saying "wow, I have to come back for more". I also found the prices to be higher of about €2-3. Definitely a pro the fact that here they do use a proper table cloth (and not the paper ones) but this might be driven by the fact the menu doesn't offer just pizzas, but also hot dishes like pasta, fish and meat (fyi: we DON'T tip in Italy because servers have a salary and to pay for some extras with the service we do have what it's called "coperto" that translates into "covered" which usually, like the word says, covers the type of table cloth used, the service etc). So the higher than average prices are driving my review towards a 3 stars along the food itself. If this was a place in north America, probably I would award them a 4 stars because compared to the quality of the same items sold here in Canada, Opera would definitely stands out. But hey, here we talking of Italy, and so, for the standards we have there, this place is just a-ok. You can definitely find a better place if you are willing to drive 5/10 mins more towards the centre of Verona unless you have to go to the movie at the theatre next block and you are running tight with your schedule.

The possibilities are just endless really. Only thing is that this one place in particular would benefit greatly form a major interiors' renovation. It looks old and quite frankly not that pretty, it looks more like a warehouse or a mini market than a food place. So yeah, it should definitely be renovated. Also, someone should clean the tables every now and then because they do tend to get dirty during then say and they usually stay that way until the place closes. Same thing goes with the floor. But the food is great and you should definitely give it a try, also because you are definitely not going to find anything much better than this in this part of town.

The decor are really well done and they contribute to create a cozy atmosphere. You can see the kitchen and the chefs working from the min dining room, a thing I always enjoy. I ordered the Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil and shrimps: they were really good. But the best thing I ate were the eggplant with tomatoes and mashed potatoes. Oh my god that way sublime. It tastes super good, couldn't have enough. The fresh bread and breadsticks were incredible as well, such a nice flavor. That was the first time I ate in this place, and it sure won't be the last.
