Zero Stars. That's what any place should get when you are assaulted in their store. When you scream for help and not a single employee comes to your help. Instead YOU have to call 911 yourself and then and only then when the police are on the way, does one employee come out. That employee, you would think would help you with the person that assaulted you, but instead they get the door and let them out before the police come. It was about 1015 last night. I was eating a slice of pizza. A well dressed person comes in and asks me for money so they can take the metro home. (50 CENTS). I state I don't have any cash, I'm sorry. He continues to insist I have money and raises his voice. He then says "If you don't give me the money, you're going to regret it when you walk out this door". I then ask "Are you threatening me?" and he says yes. I yell for help multiple times to the back of the restaurant. The man laughs and no one comes. Mind you, when I walked in the door to order a slice of pizza they were there immediately. I tell the guy to leave me alone or I will call the police. He says "Go ahead, but you better give me the money. I call 911. And go by the door and block the door to wait for the police. I don't want this man threatening other people and since he threatened to attack me outside, I figure better to be where there are other people. He attacks me while im on the phone with police. Hits me in the head. At this time, FINALLY, one employee comes out. I ask him for help and that the police are on the way. He tells me to let the man go and gets the door for the man. He said "I didnt know what he was going to do" I said, well you saw what he was doing, you heard the police were coming. What you didnt know is that he said he was going to make me regret it when i leave. Now hes out there. He said, we can see him on the camera (and points to the camera). I ask if he can see him on the camera, then why did it take so long to come out when I'm screaming for help. He said he couldnt hear anything in the back and if I didnt believe him I could go out back. The entire time, he clearly was more worried about protecting his lack of action than any well being on my part. He said he can make sure I'm safe. I said how? Are you going to make sure I make it home without getting attacked? He then said no. I ask for the owners name and number. He said "The owner will be here sometime tomorrow, there is his number (and points to the menu) Again, more concerned about business as normal than the safety of a customer. I suppose this must happen a lot there, if the owner wouldn't want to know about threats and assault on their property. I finally got the name and number after asking about 10 times. He clearly did not want to assist in any manner. Finally after the police arrive and took my description (and the employee would not give a description and only said they would get the video to the police "tomorrow" - I mean not when the police are looking for the person right away), Finally the employee offers some help... "Would you like something to drink?" Ive lived in the city for a year and been going into the city for over 20 years. I've never felt unsafe anywhere I've gone. Until now. read more

Is the pizza amazing? No. Does it hit the spot at 1am when you're a little tipsy and starved? Hell yes!! Delicious and flavorful and hits the spot to the "T"! I've never eaten anything else there but the satisfaction I got from the pepperoni pizza is enough for me. If it's late, you need pizza and grease, you know where to drop in. Late night pizza is a competitive market in the U St/Shaw neighborhood of DC, and Pizzarro is one of the best. The pizza is always fresh and decently well prepared. The location is a little off the beaten track, so lines tend to be shorter than "Gay Pizza" up the street (which is horrible, by the way, don't go there). Overall this is a solid little pizza place with pretty good deals for carryout. I should also note that it gets pretty rowdy in this place late at night, and I want to give high praise to the owner for putting up with all of it with grace and composure. Usually i just take my pizza to go and walk home, but if you want to people watch drunk people, this is an excellent location. read more

This is a fantastic local business. I've been coming here almost weekly for pizza for over a year - either dinner or late night - and highly recommend the full pizzas. By-the-slice is as good as any other jumbo slice in DC, but splitting a larger order with friends/family or to save across a couple personal meals is the most worthwhile and affordable option, in my opinion. Significantly better than chain pizza joints like Domino's or Papa John's. Best way to order is to call in ahead of time and carry out. Usually ready in 10-15 minutes and guaranteed fresh. They are also open very late on weekends, which is great for any night owls or bar crawlers. Nabil and the rest of the staff are super friendly, too. read more

As much as I love the customer service here and the people are always so pleasant I was a bit disappointed with my order tonight so I understand it's very busy because it's a very popular place I was really happy to order from here for my family but one of our pizzas were so burnt it was almost inedible, I paid for an ingredient on the other pizza that wasn't there & I did not receive pita bread with my mezze platter otherwise the food is very good. read more

Maybe people should cut them Some slacks for not being Jose Andreas worthy taste and Ritz Carlton service. I got food poisoning from this place on Saturday. Ordered a slice of cheese (not that difficult) and the place was empty.. they gave me a slice of pepperoni was in a rush so I just picked them off instead of getting a new one. Decent late night spot. Buffalo wings- amazing! Some of the best I've had from a pizza joint. Supreme pizza- absolutely delicious! Spaghetti and meatballs- not so good. Barely enough pasta sauce and lacked flavor overall. Jumbo Slice- stay away! Ours were all burnt but yet the whole pizza we got was delicious. I'm guessing they serve old, stale jumbo slices off the late night- not cool! Not the best food ever but it serves its purpose for late night drunk food or munchies :-). read more

Delicious pizza and kebabs!! I frequent this place because I live nearby. A single pizza slice is HUGE and is great for the price. Toppings are always fresh. A must-try is the salmon kebab plate. They use a delicious marinade on the salmon that makes you feel like you're eating a $35 plate of food versus the $15 that it actually is. read more

Since the day my brother put me on this little dive I've been hooked since. The wings are my favorite option. Grilled and no fat on them. The sauce is always given on the side so you can dress it how you want. The steak and cheese is something serious as well. I wont steer you wrong check them out. read more

Solid delivery pizza. We order their specialty pizzas and ask for the crust well done and that makes for a much better pizza. They press down the outer crust for well done and it is crackery. Romano, Milano are both good. Toppings are not piled on and are higher quality than a lot of places. read more

I ordered 20 wings and a spinach pita via Grubhub. First, the wings. I ordered 20 buffalo wings with ranch dressing. Pretty simple, right? What I expected: 20 fried wings tossed in a buffalo sauce. You know, the kind that's orange, mildly spicy, and can be purchased at any grocery store for about three bucks. Nothing fancy. What I received: two styrofoam containers of partially cooked wings (yes, they were raw), one with seven wings, the other with twelve wings, with no sauce. Instead, there were four small condiment cups with some weird buffalo sauce and yogurt concoction. There were also two other condiment cups with what I assume was meant to pass as ranch, but was actually some weird watery yogurt sauce. Needless to say that I trashed the entire order. Then there was the spinach pita which was basically two burned pieces of wheat toast with a small amount of spinach in between. I could have made a better sandwich with what's been sitting in the back of my fridge for the past several months but I'm too lazy to throw away. Now this is where it got really fun. My order came to over $38. Since I had to throw the entire thing away I figured this would be an easy refund process. I called Grubhub who then called the restaurant for authorization to refund who then told me that the restaurant wouldn't authorize the refund and that I was SOL! Ha. Well we'll see what my credit card has to say about that. Do not order from this place. At best you will have a horrible meal and not die from food poisoning. At worst you will die from food poisoning. read more

The last good doner kebob I had was 15 years ago in Germany, until I discovered Pizzaro, which did not disappoint. Their sandwiches are huge, tasty, and filling. If pizza is more your thing, their buffalo chicken pizza is amazing-generous chunks of their marinated chicken, thick slices of tomato, red onion, and a nice and tangy buffalo sauce. All the flavor, less of the grease and heartburn. Ordered late on a Saturday night and the delivery took less than 45 minutes. Definitely worth a shot if you're in the Bloomingdale area or within their delivery radius, they have a lot of good discount specials as well. read more

I recommend calling rather than ordering on-line, because it will be delivered much faster if you call. The two times we've called, it saved us 20-30 minutes and the person taking orders was friendly, polite, professional and totally on top of things. We got our pizza at about 30 minutes both times. Ordered here for the first time tonight and I think it may be my new go-to! The pizza was great (and still wicked hot when delivered) and the wings had good flavor but were a bit dry. The pizza was delivered 20 minutes earlier than expected on a Friday and the driver was super friendly and even got out of the car to meet me (normally drivers just put down the window to hand me the food as our street can be hard to find parking). Thus far, I have tried the ultra calzone, which was overflowing with fresh, delicious ingredients (spinach, artichokes, tomatoes, onions, and cheese), and it was quite good. I also tried the fresh mozzarella salad. The greens could have been a bit fresher, but overall it was good. I love that they have an extensive selection of unique specialty pizzas. I try to go there at least twice a month but at my worst this summer I was there every week. My biggest critique would be their lack of online ordering and sub-par phone skills. Ordered pizza from this place via eat24. Pizza arrived pretty quickly (under 25 minutes), which was good. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that was good. When I opened the box, the vast majority of the cheese had migrated off of what purported to be a pizza and into one corner of the box, as if the thing that was poorly disguised as a pizza had lost its cheese toupee. The alleged "pizza" was so greasy (and not in that tasty Chicago-style way) that the grease had soaked through the box to the point that the box had lost its structural integrity. The crust was so chewy that my jaw hurt after attempting to get through a piece, and it literally tasted like cardboard--probably because it had fused with the box. Basically, this is pizza made for people who just don't care, by people who just don't care. Next time your girlfriend says, "I don't care" when you ask her what she wants for dinner, order this pizza and show her what people get when they really don't care. I'm giving this place two stars instead of one, because I've eaten a piece of the pizza while writing this and I haven't died or anything. But I'll be sure to update if I do. read more

I will never order from Pizzaro again. The pizza was fine enough. Totally acceptable. Customer service...ehhh. I ordered from them once (nearly 90 minute wait) and ordered from them a second time. The second time I ordered before leaving work so it would be ready when I got home -- I ordered online. Long story short, nearly 2 hours later, I didn't have my food. They lost my order. On the phone the guy seemed to suggest this was my fault. He did not offer to make the order for me or get it out quickly. He didn't even offer a refund. They were closed so I was just out of luck somehow. I contacted Eat24's customer service and they managed to get a refund...but that was it. So I'm still sitting here starving more than 2 hours later. Just what I want at the end of my Friday. I'm a relatively positive and forgiving person, but this was just really rude. read more
