Lots of flavor and olive oil. Our friends got take out and they think it's the best and around the corner. I agreed as we had Naples, Rome, Florence and Capri pizzas on our trip, maybe 8 types. My wife and I agreed that Napoli pizza ( almost any) is the best thin crust without a doubt in Italy while this was the best thick crust. The father and son both work here. And it is a art to make this, make no mistake. This NOT an ordinary or reinvented pizza. This is as real and old school as it gets. If you've time in Rome and seek pizza adventure, and don't mind eating in a park, go for it. Or, take the taxi back with your prize to the hotel. Perfect boxing too. ( bring a big newspaper wrapping it w a minimum of 6 layers of paper on all sides and it will stay warm for your 12€ trip back to town as long as it's not rush hour. ) it'll be worth it. As good or better than Lombardi's in NYC, De Lorenzos in Robbinsville NJ, or pizza in Hoboken as a reference for US quality. But NO comparison suggested. This stands on its own! Way to go guys, Bravo! Bravo!
Cool custom paddle for the pizza and a scissors to cut it.

The menu is in Italian so we just got the Margherita pizza (one of the few words we understood). For 4.5 euros I don't see how you can beat it. If we order it again we'll probably get it delivered and ask them to cut it. I've noticed none of the pizza's come sliced like we're used to in America. But for a cheap pizza definitely get this place!

They were about to close, but the nice young man making the pizzas welcomed us anyway and proceeded to make the best pizza we had during the entire trip. Besides it being baked in a wood oven (drool), they have toppings galore which they pile in separate bunches and then you kind of mix them yourself. They also don't cut the pizza, you eat it with a fork and knife. So different than the pizza we've had in the U.S. We sat down and enjoyed our pizza without anyone rushing us, on the contrary, we engaged in conversation with the staff. We shared some laughs and went back to our hotel very pleased with the experience!

I also would've preferred fresh mushrooms to marinated ones, but that's just me. The crust was perfect. Tonight we didn't make a reservation at the restaurant we were originally going to try, so we were turned away. We decided to come by for a take out order of one pizza. Their namesake, fantasie Napolitane, was a great pizza! The fresh tomatoes, yummy cheese, and that bit of basil just hit the spot. To top it off, take out was €2 less than their dine-in price! One of the pizza chefs was so friendly and greeted us immediately, possibly recognizing us from last night. He asked us what we wanted and started making it right away. A full restaurant and he managed to squeeze our order in. If you live in the area, you probably already know that it's a popular place for the families and locals. It gets packed by 8:30pm. I would definitely be a regular too if I lived nearby.
