I needed an attorney to review a document I had crafted on my own from legal software. I called…read moremany law offices and all others except for Ainsworth & Thelin were going to charge me big bucks to have them write the document from scratch. I met with John Turcotte, Esq from this practice who was very down to earth and reviewed my letter with me in the room, giving me his feedback and suggestions. It was exactly what I had wanted, and it fit my budget. I would definitely use him again.

My wife first heard about attorney John Turcotte of Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice from a high school…read moreclassmate and then read about him in a Bangor Daily News article concerning the sale of a foreclosed home in Millinocket, Maine. The second sentence of the article shocked us. It fully bowled us over. There paraphrased in the second sentence of the article was the Town of Millinocket's attorney - the very same lawyer, who was currently representing my wife in her struggle to bring about a settlement of her mother's estate in Millinocket! The shock was that my wife had just received a notice for the first time from the town of Millinocket of a lien they filed against her mother's estate for unpaid property taxes and unpaid water bills when all along the town had our mailing address on file and had never sent us any notice to our home address. Yet they chose not to send the tax and water bills to any of the estate representatives of record! The town's notice had blindsided us, and my wife's lawyer - the town's lawyer - had remained deathly silent of the estate's liability to the Town of Millinocket until shortly before the date the town threatened to take possession of the property. This review is not to wince in pain about that previous lawyer's conflict of interest. Rather, this background is a necessary description of the disadvantage attorney John Turcotte found himself in when my wife fired her lawyer - the town's lawyer - and engaged Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice. The short of it is, where the previous lawyer had failed through his inaction and complacency (at the very least), attorney Turcotte truly succeeded in rescuing my wife's mother's estate from the clutches of town bureaucracy and her sibling's greed through his superior legal ability. I will add attorney Turcotte maintained a professional but sympathetic demeanor with us all the while each time we expressed frustration and outrage (often venting through use of strong and unbecoming language). He kept us on track consistently to settle the estate without any residual legal encumbrance and, as much as humanly possible, to settle the affair in my wife's favor. * Attorney Turcotte provided a strategy for resolution of the estate immediately (within two days) of receipt of confirmation of termination of the previous lawyer's representation and engagement of Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice * Within a month and a half of engagement, attorney Turcotte facilitated removal of detrimental adversary parties from estate representation - something the prior lawyer failed to accomplish in the period of four and half years! * Within a month and a half of engagement, attorney Turcotte obtained receipt by the estate of funds to close out one of my wife's mother's checking accounts - again, something the previous attorney failed to accomplish in four and half years! * One of my wife's siblings removed the entire contents of their mother's house without authorization. Attorney Turcotte advised against naming that sibling as a thief without concrete proof during the course of the official settlement of the estate, as it would be disadvantageous to my wife's legal position. It sounds like common sense, but when we were blinded by rage and frustration, attorney Turcotte first expressed his personal sympathy for our emotions but remained professional and reminded us of the importance of the ultimate goal, successful resolution of the estate without libel or slander. * The firm was always punctual in their communication with us. There was never any period of "radio silence." * Most importantly, attorney Turcotte recouped nearly all of our financial expenditures. Our total financial expenditures exceeded by far those of the competing siblings put together. These are some of the many very specific and concrete examples of why we feel so lucky and grateful to have engaged attorney John Turcotte and the firm of Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice! We highly recommend him and his firm unreservedly! If you still have questions, we suggest emphatically that you contact attorney Turcotte directly to put your hesitations at ease and begin the journey to resolution of YOUR legal challenges at the earliest opportunity. I would wish you good luck, but with attorney John Turcotte, you don't need much luck. You can rely on superior legal competence.

I am the full time father of three going through a divorce. We moved to Oregon from Idaho. Idaho…read moreruled that Oregon had jurisdiction for the divorce. My ex appealed that decision and I retained this firm. They were very hard to keep in contact with and i seemed to have to suggest things to file and how to fight the appeal so that they knew what direction to take. The appeal was won however, the court didn't specify that my ex was responsible for attorney fees. My lawyer said that he would file a motion for clarification. I paid them the $5000 retainerin the beginning. They racked up an additional $12k plus in expenses in just a few months. About a month after I had last spoken to anyone about my case I saw that they still had not filed that motion like they said they would. After asking them what happened, they sent me a nasty email on how they weren't going to file anything unless I paid $2000/ month or paid my bill in full! WTF? So they refused to finish the job on literally the last thing needed on this case because I had not yet paid them in full? I paid my retainer and never once had a conversation with them close to this except with my lawyer when I told him about my financial circumstances and need for them to pursue my ex for funds because I am raising the three kids on my own with a severe disability and no support from anyone. Sever ethical deficiency with this firm!

No communication from lawyer and have spent thousands already. They are not for the men like they…read moreadvertise. They are out for the money. Charging for every email or phone call that is generated due to the lack of communication on the lawyers part.
