History
Established in 1982.
Pitti Mosaici is a company which carries on the ancient Renaissance technique of the Pietra Dura Inlay, since 1982 in Florence (Italy).
Since 1886, today we are at the 4th Generation.
In our workshop we create marvelous works of Art, both reproductions from original antique pieces, modern subjects and customer's private commissions.
Our products are mostly handmade, as our main target is to preserve the tradition of our ancestors, which is fading year after year, and to spread it all over the world, enriching the residences of who loves this unique kind of Art.
Meet the Business Owner: Ilio de Filippis F.
Pitti Mosaici was born from the life dream of Ilio de Filippis at the beginning of the 80's, after growing in the work place of his father, known marble artisan in Venafro (between Rome and Naples). During his long education Ilio mastered such a skills which brought him to be one of the few people today able to keep this ancient tradition alive: the Art of the pietra dura inlay in hard & semi-precious stones.
During the past years he trained few artisans, as well as his two sons, who today create by hand (in the workshop located in Sdrucciolo de' Pitti, 9) unique and one-of-kind artworks appreciated by all the Art and luxury lovers of all nationalities, from the whole world.
