I had just relocated to Kentucky from California and was starting in a post divorce custody battle when I found this firm. I had my first consultation via Zoom (middle of Covid)and I was sold. She was extremely professional and seemed to genuinely care about my situation. She was up front with me and she informed me this would take a while but we'd get through it. Here I am 23 months later and I feel like me and my children have won our independence. Courtney was quick to respond to all questions and concerns, she was very honest with me at all times and I listened to her and did what she told me to do. I also have ,a few times, dealt with Bronson Howell, in Courtney's absence. This firm saved me and my children....literally. This was not only a custody case which basically turned into a nuclear war, it was also a relocation case. My children were being abused and neglected. I was frustrated at times at how slow the court moves but Courtney has been there to offer calming reassurance. This place is worth every cent I paid. There's a reason a good lawyer is expensive, the service they provide is invaluable and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My children have officially been rescued and we won our relocation case. I couldn't have done it without the help of this firm and specifically Courtney because this fight was so much more horrific than how it started . I am so thankful she popped up on here. After almost 2 years, we've got our lives back and we can finally breathe and move forward. If you're looking for a serious, professional attorney who will fight for you, this is the place. Without them, I don't think this would have had such a happy ending. I definitely recommend this firm.

It named my sister who had been deceased since 2007 as the guardian of said children. On to the decision to update our Wills. We needed to locate an attorney that was well versed in Kentucky law and individuals that have acquired properties, and are approaching retirement. A co-worker of my husband's recommended Mr. Dotson with KY Elder Law. We called and found it easy to get an appointment for a consultation where we planned to discuss Will's, Trusts, and Power of Attorney documents. Prior to our appointment we received a document to fill out and bring with us. Each step of the way it noted documents that we should bring with us such as prior Will's, Bank Statements, retirement account info, mortgage paperwork, etc. We completed the questionnaire that required us to do a little research but was valuable for a complete consultation. Our meeting with Mr. Dotson went extremely well. At the conclusion he advised us there was no charge for the consultation which lasted over an hour. We signed a contract to pay $950 to cover the cost of two Power of Attorney documents, two Will's, two Health Care Surrogate forms, and two Living Will's. The only additional fee would be a $70 recording fee that would be paid to our county for recording the Power of Attorney documents. Mr. Dotson worked with dates on our calendars to schedule a return visit to sign all the documents. The week prior to the scheduled appointment we received all the documents in draft form via the Internet to review. This made the signing day fly by without a hitch. He asked if I would write a positive review, and I did, based on that victory alone. However, or but then only after I sent the review, he sends me a bill and I nearly fainted when I saw the expenses. He kept trying to push divorce that I did not want and I am still married and going strong, he would delay proceedings, and do other things that seemed to be indicative of "milking the clock" and running my cases through a money mill. He also let me send text messages, would not reply to them, or reply short so that I would text more and run up charges for that, charging me for his time to read the text! They got some computer system called Clio that tracks everything and puts a time on it, probably even charges for the time it takes to peck the keyboard. Yeah, a little facetious, but my goodness this guy is a milker! He seemed to be working with the lawyers who were against me, and was not transparent with me about what they talked about, like trying to optimize income for both attorneys, like some unspoken code of honor amongst bedfellows. As far as knowing the law, he's good, but he loves money and knows various tactics how to extract it from people. A rich person who has disposable income would fare well with an attorney like Allen, but a working class person would not.

What sets him apart is how he goes the extra mile not just in the courtroom, but in the way he communicates, listens, and supports his clients. He is always honest, responsive, and incredibly thorough. I never felt like just another case; I felt heard, respected, and protected.
