This is a great fast casual spot with a very spacious and bright dining room and plenty of easy parking. Parking is located in a back lot. The menu is large and there are plenty of options for all kinds of eaters. I chose the shredded lamb plate and my coworker chose the beef/lamb gyro plate. Both came with a ton of food - at almost $20 a plate, we were happy with the amount of food we got. Both of us needed takeout boxes afterwards. The meat quality is excellent and the accompanying sides were also great. There are hot sauce bottles available inside for those who dine-in and like it spicy. Each plate also came with a creamy spicy sauce that can be used to dip your meats in. Service was quick and attentive. The World Cup was on and they changed the channel to the games at our request. Im not trying to say they always cook this way, but this meal was way too expensive for what they served us. The falafels were also burnt and hard. We couldn't believe someone thought it was acceptable to serve these pieces of meat and falafels rather than recooking. However, my 6 year old enjoyed her chicken kabobs, and my partner enjoyed his chicken gyro. I paid $18.70 for one gyro mmmm lil expensive word famous grill is cheaper and taste amazing. World famous grill is Highlight while i wated soo long i was able to refill my soda about 3 times. Love coming here for the lambchops, I order the usual half order and I got 2 chops that looks like the sad left overs. No meat and I had another chop that was completely raw and bloody, every other chop was cooked medium well. Dined at PitaGR for weekday lunch. The restaurant is fast-casual, and was not too busy. I decided to order the braised lamb street pita with a side of spanakopita. There is a spacious dining room in the back which is nicely decorated. My food came out after some time, but I knew the food was fresh. I first tried the fries my pita came with, which were amazing. There was a savory seasoning along with melted cheese atop the fries which made them addictive. Ketchup is not necessary for flavor. The pita contained soft and flavorful braised lamb, more fries, red onion, and tzatziki. I wish there was a little more lamb, but the flavors combined together really well. This place is so good. Been wanting to try for a long time after spotting that fro yo and finally got to come in and try it! The menu prices were about $0.50 more expensive than the pictures here on Yelp showed. I would hope they're not a place that raises the price again soon because the price factor as it is now is a major motivation to return here. We tried the chicken pita, Zeus fries, and lamb melt (for kids). Everything tasted great and portion sizes were good. Then of course we had to go for fro yo and that was out of this world. We had the baklava one and the plain one. The yogurt plain by itself was perfect in my opinion. Keep in mind, the bill was over $150; you would think they would compensate you with free sauces after placing an order that big. What a horrible place!!! I ordered the chicken plate and paid $25 at Pita GR in Downey. The chicken was under cooked. I told the girl who charged me at the cashier that the chicken was still rare. She still defended the cook as the chicken was okay to eat. I requested the chicken to be grilled well done. It took more than 25 minutes later & my plate was still not ready. As I was walking out of the restaurant and saw my chicken plate was ready at the food prep area while the girl still chit chat with the young male employee for fun. I guessed she was trying to revenge on me for requesting the chicken to be re-grilled and made me to wait for a long time for my food to get even with customer. I was in disbelieved. I never encountered such behavior at this establishment. She was not even apologized nor offered a refund. You should not support a horrible establishment which was treating customers this way!!!!!! This place has become my new go-to Greek restaurant. I love Gyros, but stray away from Lamb typically because it is just not a flavor I prefer. However, I try to be open minded and a gyro without it seems less authentic and boy this place does a Gyro well! The Lamb one is actually my favorite. The meat is packed with spices and thinly sliced (but they are generous with the portions) The avocado was fresh and the sauce and fries compliment each other perfectly. Then there's the chicken plate WOW 5/5 would recommend. (it was so good I had it 2 days in a row) the chicken has lemon zestyness to it and so does the rice which I LOVE. Initially I was kind of bummed that hummus was not an option with the side, but decided to give another side a try and opted for the Tirokafteri and let me tell you I am so glad I did. It's spicy and cheesy and soo creamy. This stuff is killer (one of the biggest reasons I had to get this a second time in a row was the Tirokafteri) Lastly, I forgot to take a picture, but I ordered the Bougatsa desert and it was very nice too. It reminded me of egg tarts with a flaky shell and cinnamon also marvelous! My friend E suggested Pita GR since she's from Downey and I know nothing about this city. It's in an old weird shopping center the same one that shares a parking lot with CVS. The parking is located in the back and there's a cute outdoor seating area as well. The place has an interesting layout with the cashier and kitchen towards the back and the seating area towards the front facing the street. Based on the location I was not expecting much but the interior is really nice! I love the color scheme, the plants hanging from the ceiling and that there's a lot of space and different seating areas to choose from. I ordered the lamb pita, Greek potatoes and grilled haloumi and my friend had the chicken salad. I'm not a fan of lamb in general and when I tell people that I almost always get the same question, "Why?!" I want to like lamb but it has this gamey after taste that I hate most times. Luckily here the lamb tasted great and I would order it again. I've had haloumi once elsewhere and wasn't a fan but tried it here and discovered I'm still not a fan. The Greek potatoes were really good and we asked for extra sauce on the side and I pretty much used it for my fries as well. I tried some of the chicken salad and thought it was good but I prefer the lamb pita over it. Wow, Pita GR is soooo good. I wish they were more local to me so I can go for a nice healthy pita wrap. I've visited Greece before and loved the food there. There's tons of Greek places out here, but none that made it feel as close to eating it at Greece as it did at this very restaurant. They currently have specials like the pita 4-pack for $40 with drinks and fries, the Athenian for $45 which comes with skewers, a dip, fries, and a Greek salad. On our visit, we opted for the Athenian. This was good for four people. I also ordered the beet salad on the side. Everything was so good. The pork belly was amazing and the chicken was tender. What a cute little spot the inside is filled with green plants and has lots of blue. You can tell that the owner put a lot of thought in to how the restaurant looks because it really feel like you are transported to Greece while you eat. I've been eyeing this place on Yelp for a while and since I am a sucker for good hummus I had to come by here. It's located in a small empty plaza. When I arrived, only this restaurant seemed active so the plaza must be a ghost town. Pita GR is a delicious and extremely filling place. I came here for dinner with my brother and his girlfriend. I thought it would be a light meal so I ordered a pork belly salad and I couldn't even finish it! The pork belly wasn't too unique and I kind of wish I tried the lamb now. It kind of reminded me of crisp pork belly from Korean BBQ places. The salad does come with fries which were fresh and crispy. We heard about this place from So Cal Parent Zone on facebook! We live in the area and love this type of food! We got the order to go and everything was delicious! The braised lamb pita wrap was my favorite! The fries have a little seasoning that's so good and the spicy taziki sauce was bomb! The chicken kabobs plate with potatoes and salad yum!
