We were a huge fan of this hotel! I would give it 5 stars but I'm quite picky about my ratings and think that 5 stars should be reserved for hotels that have everything that you could want/need (pool, hot tub, restaurants, etc.). Other than those extra amenities, Pintor El Greco was wonderful! It had so much character and was still very modern, spacious and comfortable. Of the 3.5 weeks traveling throughout Spain and Greece, this was definitely one of our top 3 favorite hotels. It is fairly central and close to all the sights you need to see in Toledo. They also have a great breakfast which we opted for considering we were taking a train out of Toledo and didn't want to fuss with walking even a little ways into the town to grab food. I believe the breakfast was 9euros/person, which isn't cheap, yet the spread was great and delicious. Definitely worth while if you want a larger breakfast and don't have the time or energy to find some place else to eat. We would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone staying at least a night in Toledo! read more

I loved this hotel and I love Toledo. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is in a great location and it has a lot of character. It seemed more German than Spanish, but it is a very old hotel that has been very well maintained. My room was mostly oak. It had wooden shutters that opened to the street. I have stayed in hotels in Barcelona, Valencia, Grenada and Malaga, but this is the only hotel that I would make an effort to visit again. read more

Looking for a convenient hotel to stay in while in Toledo? Tucked on a corner at the bottom of the hill is Pintor el Greco. Private garage (believe me, you'll need it!), older style (it's an old city) but well run, clean, and quite interesting architecture. The breakfast spread was amazing and so fresh and delicious. Access to Toledo is right outside the door. Just start walking! The desk manager was a tremendous help and honestly the kindest most friendly person I encountered during our entire trip to Spain (Hola, Javier!). Ask for an interior room. Mine was along the outside wall which looked out over an outdoor courtyard, but alongside that was the street coming down the hill and these folks like to stay out late...so it was kind of noisy with revelers returning and cars straining up the hill.
