She had great recommendations, was knowledgable about the area, and sent incredibly helpful bride and groom guides (these even helped us to make some really important decisions that changed the way we planned our wedding day!). Natasha connected with our videographer in advance to make sure they would be on the same page and work well together, which they most definitely did! Her and her husband, Al, showed up early the day of the wedding and worked together seamlessly. In their company, I felt immediately comfortable to be myself, to make jokes, to go with the flow. Before reading the bride guide provided by Natasha, we were planning to have a first touch but not a first look. After reading Natasha's thoughts and experience of first looks, we were convinced. Our first look was the perfect moment for us to connect, release our anxieties, and remember the real purpose of the day. We were able to have plenty of space between ourselves and the camera and truly felt like we were alone enjoying the moment. This was one of the major highlights of our day, and the photos show it. As the day pressed on, Natasha was the perfect photographer and director that we needed. I had asked that she feel comfortable to be as bossy as necessary to capture the perfect pictures. I had experiences before where I ended up hating my positioning, posture, or the distance between people in wedding photos. She handled this job with grace and the perfect amount of discipline. Everyone listened to her, and the fun, joking energy continued. During our ceremony, I was able to release any stiffness and be myself. We had the least stiff ceremony I've ever attended, and it was a true representation of who we are and the love we share. I believe this was due to our comfort level provided by the photography team of Natasha and Al, as well as the relationship she established from the start with our videography team. It didn't feel like we were being watched by extra "staff", they felt like they were meant to be there. And honestly, I could barely tell they were there half the time! During the ceremony, I had no idea they were getting the shots and angles they captured! While I awaited the photo album, I honestly thought we were going to be missing some of the angles I had dreamt of because I never saw them taking them. As soon as I saw the album I was SHOCKED to see that they had been there all along, capturing my husband's face as he cried for my entry, capturing the guest's reactions, capturing it all. Ok guys, so we did not have a lot of time while we were in Asheville and decided to take a tour…read morewith Natasha from Brass Monkey Photography while we where here. In short, we are very glad that we did. Natasha our guide was awesome and she did an excellent job of discussing not just the history of Asheville but also many aspects about the architecture and its historic buildings. Natasha was very knowledgeable about many of the famous prior residents from the Confederate families that played an integral part in the founding of the City to Thomas Wolfe and F. Scott Fitzgerald both famous authors. We also visited the Roman Catholic Cathedral located in the downtown area which was beautiful; also, a local cemetery where we visited the graves of many historical figures and learned a little more about each of them as well. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend you book a tour with Natasha as you will not go wrong. It is important to note that Natasha also offered us bottled waters as a part of the tour as well. This tour involves quite a bit of walking so make sure you bring some comfortable shoes along.

Natasha took both candid shots and staged poses along the hike, while giving us history of Asheville and recommending restaurants and other waterfalls, and even give pointers on personal camera settings. Safety was her #1 priority on the more difficult areas of the hike. The continental breakfast was fresh fruit, muffins, crescents, water, choice of juice and iced coffees. We ate breakfast at the base of the waterfall. Positively recommend Brass Monkey, even if you think you can do the hike alone, having a local along to give history of the area, prepare and carry breakfast and take the photos while you enjoy the hike and view, is well worth it. Natasha was delightful and really captured our happiness and natural personalities in the photographs.

It truly pains me to write this review. I wanted nothing more than to give the most important…read morevendor of our wedding, our photographer, a rave review, but unfortunately, I cannot. Working with Kasey Gruen Photography was an unfortunate experience that I would not want any bride or groom to deal with. She really needs to work on her professionalism and customer service. I will admit that we have some really good photos. But the photos don't make up for the terrible service and MANY requested and missed photo opportunities. I even went as so far as to include sample photos of what I wanted in case my written descriptions of what I wanted were unclear. Our wedding album is incomplete and we have resorted to requesting family and friends send us their photos to help gather the missed moments. Looking at the photos is upsetting because it just reminds us of how many photos Kasey missed by mismanaging her time. For example, Kasey spent time photographing my flowers so much that I have 11 individual photos of them, not to mention the other 20 photos that my bouquet naturally appears. Kasey even used a guest of mine as her assistant during the staged photos! Another time, during the cocktail hour of my wedding I had to leave the room and find Kasey to ask her to come upstairs to the room. I found her downstairs talking to her husband who was our second photographer we hired that day to take photos during his time. With two photographers present we should not have had any missing photos or time gaps. Before the wedding I requested that she take photos of people signing our "guest book." This was an important moment to us and we thought we were ensuring that no pieces of frozen time would be missed, but this is just one of our requested photos that went unfulfilled. The photos that we have been provided include shots that are VERY far away, photos where we are not centered, out of frame, etc. She refused to include photos she deemed "unexceptional" and we had to convince her to release some to us that we thought were okay and far better than some of the other posted on the site. I could go into further detail, but it's just exceedingly disappointing! In MANY of the cases where photos were missed, there were NEMEROURS workarounds to get the shot we wanted. But instead of something we were left with nothing. Kasey showed poor management, poor initiative in finding the shots that needed to be taken, and poor communication skills. We hired Kasey Gruen Photography because we wanted beautiful digital photos we could print ourselves. We looked at her photos online and felt she was a right fit. Unfortunately, we made a horrible mistake. At least we will have the memories of what was a wonderful day!
