I took my Rottweiler to Pinecrest veterinary today for an eye condition, when we arrived my dog was weighed, then the assistant told me they needed to take my dog to the back to Check "vitals", and they would bring him back to me shortly, which they did. As I sat waiting, I arrived early so was there for 45 minutes or so and saw numerous pets come... none of which were taken from their owner and taken in the back to check "vitals"... curious behavior , in retrospect I wish I would not have agreed to this. Other than that my dog was diagnosed and I felt the rate was a bit high, but fair enough... I wish i knew why they singled out my pet and took him from me. read more

UPDATE - to comment on our review we are using an anonymous email to avoid retaliation or any sort of negative connection. The staff has been wonderful during this very hard time, they are compassionate and very kind. They all deserve a raise.

My baby, Winston, just recently passed. We had been with Pinecrest Vet since he was 6 and he passed at 13 years old. They took amazing care of him through the years and were even more detailed in his care when he got over, never giving up on him. They were so supportive when he passed. Will continue to use their services for my other dogs. Thank you for everything you did for Winston. He loved you all! read more

We went there with a serious emergency. Dr. Quezada took such good care of our dog. The staff was also caring and professional. They were patient as my brother is deaf and most of the conversations were over video call. Dr. Quezada was very professional and never pushed for extreme measure that often are not aligned with the pets age and condition. He sent us to an ER for our dog to be properly treated overnight. Unfortunately, our dog didn't make it. Dr. Quezada followed up with me to inquire about my dog and was very empathetic when I told him about his passing. I would highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Quezada in particular. read more

This Vet kept my beloved 14 year old dog Lance alive 9 months. My old vet did not care & were about the $$$. So I switched to Pinecrest Vet. Dr. Dugan & Dr. Langdon are exceptional vets and people. They treated my dog Lance like he was family. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great care & compassionate caring doctors . They are not about the money. They really care. I had to put my dog Lance down Aug 14th.. He was 14 years old. Dr. Dugan put him down. It was devastating for me, but they were very kind. His wife, Dr. Langdon is just amazing also . Now I have a new dog - who will go there of course !! Five stars for sure read more

I have a 10 yro dog named Abbey and my parents took her in for a severe eye ulcer and she was told by a previous doctor that she was healing but she wasn't so I did my research online and saw that your doctors had a specialist for dogs with eye problems. Let me tell you, once Abbey was taken here, your doctor found the right solution to heal my dogs eye and she is doing FANTASTIC. Dr Lorraine karpinski is a phenomenal doctor!! I'm so happy that you guys did everything to make my dog get better. I really thought that she would need intensive surgery from what I read in forums. But you guys are awesome for helping my golden retriever. Yes it's a little expensive but it's a reasonable price if you want your dog to heal from something intense like a dog eye ulcer. Thank you thank you thank you. Here is a before and after pic of my dogs eye. read more

I miss Dr. Dugan and Dr. Langdon. I had know them for many years. I met them at South Dade. I was there since the '80's with Dr. Fenster. Dr. Karpinski told me they were opening their own place in Pinecrest. I moved with them. I am sorry but sitting in my car or standing outside in the heat is too much for me. I can't tolerate the heat. I really get sick. This year has been the worst. I know the pandemic really screwed things up, but I could not sit in my car and not see my cats inside. I M completely vaccinated and still wear a mask due to laser procedures I am undergoing. I am an RN with a Master's degree. I don't want to be yelled at by anyone, Dr., nurse, office manager, tech, etc. I do not want anyone to use terminology such as "putting him down" or any other obnoxious euphemism. If you don't want to take care of older, sicker animals, just say so. I have taken care of my cats until they pass away naturally. I want them to go out as peacefully as possible. I am never tired of caring for them. If I do not see something, I can't tell you about it. Maybe I was at work, like you. I try to describe what I see. I think I do ok in that regard. I have had to have my son pick a cat up until I got home from work and then taken the cat elsewhere. I have dealt with diabetes, ketoacidocis, and insulin, hyperthyroidism and Methimazole, urinary crystals and obstructions, kidney disease, liver disease, brain tumors, anemia, eye problems, fibrosarcomas and osteosarcomas, and others. Shall I go on? I have taken in many cats and kittens. I do not want to have someone yell at me because they are stressed. I am, too. I am generally the only one with a cat in a carrier, while there are lots of dogs in the waiting area. I hope to continue to have a good experience, but I miss Dr. Dugan and Dr. Langdon. read more

I cannot put into words how much my family and I appreciate Pinecrest Vet Hospital & Dr Diaz Cruz. She is the most attentive, genuine, and honest vet we have come across who truthfully cares for her patients and their family. She helped us with our family dog who was surrendered to us, cared for him on multiple occasions, and even sent us a letter when he passed away. She also takes care of my own dog now and our experience is always spectacular. Dr Diaz Cruz will take her time, sit with you and explain, and answer every question you may have. Cannot recommend her enough! read more

My experience with this vet has been exemplary. I took my foster dog here for shots in May 2019. The vet techs and front desk people were extremely nice and my wait wasn't very long; I was taken in at the time of my appointment. I then took the dog back months later when she had a bee sting on her foot (I called in frantic and they were nice enough to give me an immediate appointment; I appreciate that!) The vet immediately diagnosed what was wrong and took the stinger out. I LOVE the vet (Dr Diaz-Cruz); she was so kind to my scared dog and I was very impressed by her. These are the only 2 times I have had to take the dog to the vet, but both times were a very positive experience. I recently formally adopted the dog (yep, I'm a foster-fail!), and went back the other day to get her heartworm and flea meds. Again, the front desk people are SUPER nice and I find them very competent and helpful. Even though this vet is a bit far from my home, I will keep them as my vet since my experiences have been so positive. read more

Made an appointment to have dogs checked for heart worm so I could purchase the monthly preventative meds. Was told that they would issue pills after blood test. at the appt. they took blood sample and then said they would not sell the pills without performing an annual physical exam at additional cost and that I would need to come back for the exam appt. They lied to me and my new Vet says there is no requirement for exam as long as blood test is negative. This place is under new ownership and they are no longer the wonderful practice that it was in prior years. Now it is all about the $. Beware. read more

Dr. Dugan is the only surgeon I would trust to do surgery on me. He saved my dog twice now. He is an ironman, type A personality, marathon runner, precise, explains things perfectly, says it like it is, doesn't waste your time, and understands and knows everything there is to know. I can sniff out bull, and Dr. Dugan has none of it. He does not bullsht around. He is the real deal. And he saved the dog I love. He saved a family member of mine because he is so good at his job. I bring my dog here to see the Opthalmologist Dr. Karpinski and she's great. I called to bring in my dog to see the vet, and it's $75 which is absurd!! The visit alone is $75, imagine everything else that will be added onto that. Vets take advantage and abuse cuz they know how much we care about our fur babies. And I get inflation is high but this is not right. read more

Hands Down, the best care you can get from a veterinarian! The whole team from the time you call to make your appointment, to check in and help from the vet team. I have been going to see Dr. Dugan since 1999 and have gone to others and the care and compassion he shows is so rare these days. Keep in mind, when you go to a pet food store for vet services, they are there to sell products and veterinarians are there as a secondary service and will end up costing more in the end. Thank you again to the whole staff at Pinecrest Veterinary Hospital! read more

We followed Dr DUGAN for the past 12 years and could not be more pleased to have a caring, loving and compassionate VET. Some reviewers hoped some of us would get the same attention from our primary physicians as Dr DUGAN provides our pets.... It makes me wonder if he's in the CIGNA PPO network. We moved to West Kendall 4 years ago and will continue taking our pets and referring as many pet owners as possible read more

The worst rude front desk staff, specially the blond lady. They are rude, uninterested in you and your dog. They don't acknowledge, explain and/or engage in any positive way. On the other hand, The Vets and the tech's are 5 stars. I feel like the front desk lady must have blackmailed the vets to keep her job.... I have been a client for 4 years and its always the same, horrible front desk, great Vet and tech. staff. Pick your poison read more

I rescued a 6week pup and was able to get an appointment a couple days later. Dr.Langdon was great with her. We didn't have a lot of medical background for my little girl and Dr.Langdon was very patient and did not order unnecessary shots or tests. My pup did great. I have gone back multiple times. When my puppy had diarrhea for a couple of days, I called her left a message and received a call back the same day with advice on how to treat it. Always available and willing to help. Plus side, my little girl loooooves everyone there and they love her win win win. read more

My little dog needed eye surgery and it "required" that i return multiple times for POAT OP visits. After spending a lot of money on the surgery and medications, they charged me for every post op visit. You would think that the first visit, atleast qould have bewn a no-charge. I complained and the Dr., by the name of Kandinsky, couldnt care less and refused to excuse the first visit. I continued for 4 months, paying $90 for the visit + eye drops. The sutures are in the center of the eye. It was obvious my dog was never going to see again from that eye. I was being strung along to keep going back. The staff is very nice, but the Dr. was condencending and reprimanding me as if i had forgotten to repleniah or give my dog his medicines. She, on the other hand, didnt even know if my dog was male or female after 4 months. Wont be going there again. :( read more

I had to come on here today and give some merit to Dr. Robins. This doctor has restored my faith in Veterinarians! I had a few experiences in the past that have involved money hungry vets that make you jump through expensive hoops to get your pet feeling better. She is FAR from anything like that. She went as far as to give me her direct number to text her if I ever had an emergency. She has called in prescriptions on her days off and after hours when I've reached out in two separate occasions. I have an elderly and highly allergic dog and Dr. Robins has given us such peace of mind knowing she's always in good hands from the heart and not just from our pockets. Pinecrest vet staff is amazing as well with scheduling and handing over messages to the vets. read more

Love Dr. Diaz Cruz and the entire staff. They're always so kind and accommodating anytime we've had to bring our Daisy in.

My two dogs have been going to see Dr. Dugan for over 3 years now. Just like the previous reviewer, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this veterinary practice. Dr. Dugan himself is an extremely caring and knowledgeable person. He is never quick to conclusions and always takes the time to analyze, explain and discuss the situation and my options when it comes to my dogs' healthcare. My previous vets were never this attentive. The staff is also very helpful, always happy to help accomodate me whenever I need a last minute appointment. I have had a few emergencies and they were always there to help me along the way. Even though I've moved about 15 miles north of my previous home in Pinecrest it is worth every minute it takes to drive back to Pinecrest Vets. Bottom line; ive never been this pleased with a veterinary practice in my 13 years of dog ownership. read more

Dr. Langdon is "The Cat Whisperer" as far as I'm concerned. I have been bringing my cats to her for the past 18 years and she has a way with keeping them calm and taking care of them. Believe me, I have brought her every type of cat from Show Cat Bloodline to right off the streets. She's amazing at explaining everything you need to know, so much so, that even I can understand the medical terminology! I feel a little smarter when I leave the visit, literally. The vet techs are friendly and confident, that's what you want when you are handing your kids over to them. The front desk staff is super helpful and accommodating from start to finish. They even help hold my cats so that I can get my card out or find my car keys. Anytime I need to get a message to Dr. Langdon, I know she's received it because she always finds the time to call me back on that same day. The price point for services and medicines is very competitive. I recently had a routine visit and must say that I could get used to waiting in my car while everything is done for me. When you drive up they have cones marked with numbers so they can know who is where. The techs come to your car and get your little one's, return them with payment seamlessly taken care of. The communication with the front desk while arriving and leaving is outstanding. Thank you all for the many years of Knowledgeable Reliable Consistent Genuine Excellence in your Services. My Cats thank you as well with very Healthy and Happy purrs. read more

Thank you Dr Dugan, front desk staff and in particular the Vet tech's for your amazing labor of love shown towards any one lucky enough to bring in their pets. They are the best! Dr. Langdon has been caring for my many pets for several years and has provided nothing short of excellent care and advice. She is very kind and gentle with the animals. Dr. Diaz-Cruz is my new Boston's doctor and she is very kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Dugan is wonderful as well! I like that they start with the basics and work up to more in depth testing rather than ordering expensive tests from the start, unless they are indicated. Highly recommend them. read more

The correct address for Pinecrest Veterinary Hospital is 12125 S Dixie Hwy (aka US 1) located in the NE corner of Suniland Shopping Center. You can enter from US 1 or 82 Ave just south of SW 120 St. I have used the services of animal ophthalmologist, Lorraine Karpinski, since 1993. In 2014, I changed to Dr. Cynthia Langdon as my primary care veterinarian. Although I live in Homestead, the extra miles & travel time are inconsequential. I cannot begin to explain how thankful I am to Dr. Karpinski and staff for saving my dog's eye. I'm a vet tech and am well aware of the "particular personality" that some vets have at times. This was not the case here at all. I took my dog to a recommended vet prior just for eye drops since I already knew she had an eye ulcer. She's had them before and usually with a couple days of antibiotic drops she's cured. Long story short when I returned to the prior vet because it wasn't getting better he had already left because I was exactly 7 min late! I was very worried because from my experience when the eye looked as bad as it did, it needs a specialist. When I called Pinecrest Animal Hospital it was already 15 min past the time that Dr. Karpinksi had to leave and she still waited 45 min for me to arrive (rush hour traffic is terrible on US1- beware). The moment I got there she attended me and told me everything I needed to know and provided me with 4 medications for the eye. Very nice and thorough. I had a long 3 days ahead of me putting drops every 2 hours. Thank god I went there because if not she may have lost her eye. 3 days later I went back and she was able to perform an eye graft. I'm due back next week for a re-check. Couldn't be happier with this vet. :) read more

Saw dr. Karpinski, their ophthalmologist, for treatment on my shih tzus cataracts. She was very straightforward and informative. I really appreciated her honestly, it didn't seem like she was trying to gouge me or feed me lies in order to get more money from me. Most vets I leave feeling ripped off, uncomfortable and still lacking the answers to my questions and concerns about my pets health. Also the receptionist, I believe her name was Daniela, was so kind and helpful in retrieving my records from her previous doctors. She was quick to follow up and I felt as though she honestly wanted to help. We just moved to Miami from California and I received a recommendation for dr karpinski from my local ophthalmologist back home. After going to another veterinary and getting the wrong cherry eye care recommendation I found Dr Karpinski here and now our family dog Zack is back to his beautiful self. Originally we were told not to do the surgery by the other vet dr, and that it was okay to just leave it like that but Dr. Karpinski let us know that eventually it would create other issues and that it had to be repaired surgically. Surgery scheduling was a breeze and all went as planned , post op healing was fast and the whole event was smoother than expected. Dr Karpinski is a seasoned vet and it shows. Thanks! read more

We were referred to Dr. Dugan by a friend to get a second opinion on our cat. Dr. Dugan is very compassionate and caring and he listens to what you are telling him about your pet. In turn, he takes ample time to explain everything in detail so that you understand everything completely. After meeting him for the first time and the way he treated us and our cat, we are switching to him for all four of our cats. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Dugan or his back office staff, however, there is one older woman up front who could use some guidance as to professionalism in an office setting, especially in an setting where every client in the waiting area can hear everything she says and every interaction she has with clients on the phone and in person - this woman is not professional in any sense of the word. BUT, if that's what i have to deal with in order to make sure my beloved pets get cared for by Dr. Dugan, then so be it. After 13 years in this area, he is the best vet that I have found and I highly recommend him! read more

So glad I don't go there anymore; the front desk women were so unfriendly that I dreaded taking the dog to the vet, even more than the dog hated going there. Believe all the negative reviews...dealing with the front desk is a miserable experience. When you arrive, they don't smile...they don't say hello...in fact, they don't even acknowledge your presence. They don't seem to especially like animals, they pretend not to hear you when you ask a question, and they act like they are doing you a favor by taking your money when you pay. Yes, it's really that bad. Plus, it smells like cat pee. read more

Pinecrest Veterinary is the best! They just moved to a bigger space by the Daily Bread. They've been taking care of my family's and my dogs for over ten years. Dr. Langdon is the sweetest woman in the world and her husband, Dr. Dugan, is really funny. They both always take the time to educate me on the veterinary issues and are so very kind. Dr. Langdon performed two surgeries on our former basset hound because she used to eat rocks. She currently cares for three of my family's dogs and you can tell she is a true lover of animals. The young vet techs are SO affectionate with the dogs. They're always kissing and hugging them, especially my spaniel who trembles like a leaf whenever I take her in. The staff really do care about their patients and the quality of care is unparalleled. read more

I truly wish all of my various health care specialists showed me the same care, concern, and sincere bedside manner that Dr. Dugan shows my dog on a regular basis. No matter what the issue is, Dr. Dugan always makes the effort to ensure my pet's comfort and calmness throughout the visit. Meanwhile, he sits with me and answers all of my questions until I am satisfied and ready to leave rather than allowing the clock to dictate when he exits our conversation. I have never met a person better suited to be in the profession of animal care. He is a pleasure to speak with, he offers tremendously helpful insight, and throughout what has unarguably been a painful and difficult process for my dog(cancer,) he has been a guiding light. I cannot say enough positive things about him as a vet or as a person. read more
