Probably think about reconsidering and making the drive to Hawaiian Bros. As a Pacific Islander I was hoping to support small business and not a chain but after what happened I will no longer be going. The chicken we ordered took "longer than expected" amounting to around 20 minutes. After the wait the staff apologised and offered us a free drink. Delighted we walked over and chose a drink just for them to take back what they said and not let us have one? Saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it. I tried the masubi, loco moco with mac salad, rice, smoked pork, and garlic wings. I've had my fair share of mixed plates in the Hawaiian islands and can say this place is legit. I really liked the masubi, wings and "mac salad". The pork was a little less gamey ( I like the gaminess) than the islands and my hamburger steak was kinda juicy (ill ask for well done next time). All in all some really good food. Location/Parking: This restaurant was very easy to find! They have a beautiful, large sign with yellow don't that makes it hard to miss. I loved the spacious parking lot because it's located in a shopping strip so there plenty of room to park. How to order: You walk in and order at their counter. They have a menu right above the counter so you can easily see what they have to offer. When you pay, they will give you a number to bring to your table and that's how they will know to bring you your order. They do not offer a fountain drink area, so you pay for your drinks and then grab your Hawaiian Sun, or water bottle, or soda right out of the fridge before or after paying. We seated ourselves anywhere that was open. Covid precautions: We did have to wear masks. The staff were all wearing masks. They have a hand sanitizer dispenser at the front, but it was empty :( They do sanitize in between customers and really do what they can to limit surface exposure. Service: The service was great! I felt the staff were very friendly and even noticed they were kind enough to offer suggestions for guests who hadn't ever had Hawaiian BBQ before. They all had pretty positive and peppy personalities and I enjoyed feeling welcome there. Food: The BBQ Beef Plate - just go ahead and get it. You will thank me and I accept your thanks. Hahaha it was a perfect blend of savory and sweet. The meat had such a deeply developed flavor that biting into it the first time made both me and my husband say "wowwwww". The Shrimp Plate - The shrimp isn't peeled, but they are cleaned properly and cooked in a delicious buttery garlic sauce! Honestly felt like I was eating a shrimp just made of butter hahahah. You might want to pop a mint after eating this plate because the fresh garlic, although sooooo tasty, will leave your breath kicking lol The Macaroni Salad - We LOVED the Hawaiian macaroni salad here! It wasn't completely overpowering with mayo or sugar. It didn't have any rough bites of onion or carrot. It was truly a great subtle side to enjoy with both the bb beef and the garlic shrimp. The Spam Masubi's - Very simple and flavorful. They have a savory/sweet sauce on the spam and the portion size was so generous! Came across this cute Hawaiian place while running errands at the Northeast mall. The restaurant is super clean and open and the menu is short and sweet, which makes the ordering easy! Before reading on, make sure you grab your drinks from the fridge before ordering so they know how much to charge you. We ordered the crispy garlic chicken, Loco Moco and the famous spam musibi, all from the "Favorites" and for a good reason. The crispy garlic chicken was fried to perfection with the sweet soy sauce. I am not even that big of a fried chicken fan but this is definitely an item that I'd return for!! The Loco Moco is basically hamburger patty topped with sunny side and brown sauce, which was rated 7.5 out of 10 by the boyfriend who used to eat this once a month in LA haha which must be good. Probably one of my favorite Hawaiian restaurants. Not that I been to a ton, maybe 6 of them, I total between AZ and TX. With that said, I have never been to the island, so take that into account. I love spam musubi, it just bring savory, sweet and rice to a whole new level. Pineapple Grill knocks them out of the park. The Hawaiian BBQ beef plate is awesome. There are so many flavors, and I swear it melts in you mouth. I am not the biggest fan of the chicken Katsu, but I don't like that anywhere I've tried it. Finally, the macaroni salad, oh man I would have n3ver thought I would crave something that much. Before Covid-19 hit, I went there a couple of times and the place was packed, in a good way. The more people, the better chance the place will be super yummy. Since to the Stay-at-home order in April, it does not seem super busy, but my hope is that in reality they are busy. I really like this place and if my family liked Hawaiian food as much as me, we'd be here all the time. read more

This place has made my and my family's week! Stopped by on Thursday evening to get my hubby and son some malasadas as a Valentine's treat! They were so surprised and they tasted amazing! Then we picked up dinner tonight, and it was SO good! Felt like we were back on Oahu, enjoying some Hawaiian comfort food again! I got the garlic shrimp with a salad with this really tasty pineapple mango dressing and sticky rice, and my husband got the loco moco. You should have seen his face when he realized how authentic and flavorful it was. My son got a bbq chicken sandwich with sticky rice.
