This is a great place to relax and enjoy some time by the pool or in the shade. Have been coming here off and on for almost 20 years. The staff is always friendly and the members are welcoming. This was my first experience in this type of environment and it was freeing and liberating! I was a guest of a member and paid the nominal $20 fee for use of the facilities. I participated in a Yoga class and a water aerobics class in the community pool. Both instructors were proficient and welcoming! The Yoga class was relaxing with calm music for the morning atmosphere. The aerobics class had 22 participants and a musical theme of women's names. The male instructor was very charismatic and entertaining. I had a great time being active, getting some sun with no tan lines! A very enjoyable time overall. Everyone was friendly and pleasant; it felt like a tight community, accepting of all. read more

Pine Tree is a beautiful and comfortable family nudist club that offers a 70 acres of natural woodlands, trails, indoor and outdoor activities. If you want to experience a perfect and out of the norm weekend, you need to visit. Amazing grounds, no it's not a 5 Star resort, that would be normal. This is a place in which you get to be free to enjoy yourselves without a price tag. Great people, so much fun everywhere you look. From the pool to the nature trail to the dances and Saturday Socials, it's an incredibly fun experience. Family friendly and adult oriented. Something for all ages. Tons of sports from pickle ball to frisbee golf and pool volleyball. Love this place. read more

I recently had the opportunity to visit Pine Tree Associates during the Fourth of July weekend. Pine Tree Associates website recommends first time visitors to either phone or complete their "schedule-a-visit" form in advance prior to their first visit, and they will contact you. I submitted an online form: "schedule-a-visit" a day prior to my visit. Pine Tree Associates did not contact me as stated on their website. On the day of my visit, my friend and I drove to Pine Tree Associates gate. Once we were at the gate, a sign instructs you to turn your car engine off and inform the Pine Tree Associates via intercom of your identity. Immediately afterwards, you are instructed to drive to the main office and the gate opens for you. In Pine Tree Associates main office you are greeted and asked to provide identification. We provided our driver license as well our American Association of Nude Recreation membership card. We were asked to fill out a Pine Tree Associates form, that also inquired about our nudism experiences. We were asked to wait in the office until the Pine Tree Associates "membership committee couple" arrived to provide a tour of the grounds. We were also given the option of totally disrobing or waiting until our "membership committee couple" arrived. I immediately disrobed, and my friend kept her bottoms on due to her menstrual cycle. The "membership committee couple" arrived arrived shortly afterwards and greeted us in the office. The male half of the "membership committee couple" was very assertive towards my friend regarding her bottoms, and instructed her to totally disrobe or come back another day. I thought his comment was totally inappropriate to a female, and should have been addressed by the female half of the "membership committee couple" to my friend. I did express my concern regarding his inappropriate comment and insensitivity towards my friend. The female half commented that she hadn't had a menstrual cycle in years and didn't think about it. We were given a brief tour and history of Pine Tree and were seated to discuss membership and the fees associated with it. Pine Tree Associates is a co-op nudist community. During the tour, it was brought my attention that Pine Tree Associates limits the number of single males to visit. As it was explained, Pine Tree Associates wants to maintain an even male/female ratio of members. This raised a concern to me for potential Pine Tree Associates' male members. We were told we could bring our friends with us for future visits to Pine Tree. Should we mention Pine Tree to male nudists? We were given the opportunity to remain at Pine Tree for the remainder of the day. We were accommodated poolside with two relaxing reclining beach chairs. Various members introduced themselves to us while we relaxed. We participated in their social hour. Beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks were offered. A potluck dinner was served shortly afterwards. We spoke to numerous Pine Tree Associates' members in attendance during our stay. It was frequently mentioned that Pine Tree Associates was trying to increase diversity with it's membership population. I do not like the perception of being a minority, that I should be potentially utilized for Pine Tree Associates' recruitment drive. I am there to relax just like everyone else. I am having mixed emotions about returning to Pine Tree Associates. read more

Have you ever done something that might be extremely crazy to the rest of the world, but it piqued your interest enough to stray away from the norm and see what things truly are about? I did that when I came to Pine Tree Associates Nudist Club. This club has been around for over 80 years. It started out as a farm that was owned by a family who were closet nudists with their friends. They gathered here in natural form and enjoyed the leisure of nakedness among themselves. As time progressed on, it turned into what it is today -- a family oriented no clothes allowed nudist club. Everyone has to be naked... everyone. No exceptions. They are part of the American Association for Nude Recreation which has strict relations that have to be adhere to in order to be part of the association, respectively. Pine Tree is a strong member of this organization. When I first arrived, the first thing that came to my mind besides 'oh my gosh, I am about to really do this' was how far removed and isolated it is. It is located in Crownsville, Maryland that is located between Annapolis (20 minutes away) and Crofton (15 minutes away) in the middle of upper class suburbia. If you pass by where you are supposed to enter Pine Tree like I did, you'll approach really huge houses and see foreign cars that I can't even pronounce. If you reach this point, turn back around. They offer the open house to the public only a couple of times a year with this being one has them when I attended. At sign in, you have to give them your license where they take a photocopy of it, sign a consent waiver, and get some other information about yourself. Also, you have take off and leave your clothes in the car before check-in. The open house is free to the public. Pine Tree is completely fenced in where it lays on 96 acres with tons of activities on the property: - swimming pools both indoor and outdoor with slide - hiking - tennis and shuffle board - hot tub - yoga classes - water volleyball - overnight trailers and camper hook ups The property is nice, however, everything inside of the club needs a face lift and lots of updating. I felt like I had gone back to the 1970s in many instances because of the interior decor was incredibly outdated. If they straightened out some of it, I could see it being more presentable. They do have an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch called Cafe Derriere. It is that the cafeteria food with high upcharges. You're better off bringing your own food which is allowed and encouraged. They're open during the summer months for breakfast and lunch. As I mentioned previously this is family oriented nudist club. For children they have a playground that is fenced in, a small swimming pool right beside the main swimming pool, and a room for arts and crafts. Kids must be under the supervision of their parents or assigned guardian at all times. When you arrive, you must give all information about your kids and if anyone is allowed to watch them outside of the parents themselves. This is heavily regulated for obvious reasons with no exceptions. I enjoyed meeting some other newbies such as myself who also wandered in on curiosity. Being that I came here a single female; Pine Tree also regulates the male to female ratio with single females being let in more often so than single males. Couples policy is that couples must be male/female. Per the website I remember reading -- if a male gets "over simulated", he has to get in the pool and/or cover himself up with a towel. If a woman is on her monthly she must wear shorts. I'm happy to report neither of these cases occurred to my knowledge. I had a good time playing water volleyball even though I was completely horrible at it, hanging out by the hot tub, and socializing with everyone on how they came to be in this particular lifestyle. We all have our ways of going about things. I feel this is a judgement free environment....ha, despite being some friendly gossip going around that I heard among some of the nudists, everyone seemed to have a good time and really didn't have a care in the world. As far as coming back -- I think this is an experience I wouldn't mind having again, but I don't think the mood for the experience will strike again anytime in the near future. You never know though.
