I used Pimlico Plumbers to fix my front door as the top hinge had broken. On their first visit of about 10 minutes, they said 2 new hinges would have to be ordered and then replaced. This visit cost £168. After several reminders, they finally came two months later. I had been using my back door to leave and enter. During the second visit, the Pim P chap said he needed to go to a timber merchant to get a small piece of wood to align the hinge with the door (which was done lazily). After two hours, the Pim P chap said he had finished the job. I noticed he had only replaced the top hinge. The door was also snagging slightly; probably due to not replacing the wonky bottom hinge as agreed. As I had now clocked up a further £200 or so, I decided to not say anything. I found out later the hinge came with a packer so the trip to the timber merchant was unnecessary. Not only was this done during chargeable time but Pim P also added a markup of 45% as a "handling charge". Charge for the time taken to source materials or add a handling charge but not both, surely? When I complained to customer services they said it was clearly stated on the Pim P website. It does say a handling charge will be added but doesn't mention 45%. So not clear at all. In the end, I bought a second hinge myself and got someone else to do the job. This required removing and repositioning the top hinge to align the door correctly. To be fair to PimP, they did give me a partial refund (even that took 3 weeks) but in the end, all they really did was supply the top hinge (which took 2 months). This cost me about £250. Oh, and they also left an oily stain on my carpet where chap left the old hinge parts.

A Running Scam -- A Criminal Scheme of Alarming Scale! It's hard to believe this so-called business is still operating unchecked. For years, it has posed as one of Britain's top plumbing companies while repeatedly defrauding customers. I wish I had read the many negative reviews from others who were scammed just like me. The company displays a distinctive pattern. We called them to replace a simple plastic bath mixer- an attachment -- a very basic fixture that any professional plumber should carry or quickly source. During the initial call, and after paying £156 in advance, for the first hour, I offered to send a photo of the required part. They refused. That should have been the first red flag. Their tactic is simple: arrive, declare they don't have the part, suggest a quick trip to a local DIY shop that predictably doesn't stock it, then "go to Argos" -- consuming most of the paid hour. The plumber never returns but instead sends a follow-up report, suggesting another visit the next day for an additional £200 to "complete the job." In reality, the part is standard -- any competent plumber should either carry it or be able to collect it easily from their office stock. Instead, the company pockets £156 for doing virtually nothing. For reference, they quoted £360 to install a basic shower mixer onto bathtub taps -- a task that's usually straightforward and should not require such inflated costs or deceptive practices. This operation has exploited customers this way for years, as proven by numerous similar online complaints. Avoid these fraudsters and report their scam to Citizens Advice, who can escalate the matter to Trading Standards for investigation. read more

The most awful service I have ever experienced. Apparently, you cannot give 0 stars, which is a shame, as Pimlico do not even deserve 1 star. Incompetent administration, an engineer who lied and a complaints process which is basically them deciding that you are wrong. As others have said it's £150 up front. The engineer turned up, worked about 5 minutes and said everything was fine. 3 days later the leak started again in exactly the same place. Pimlico said I would have to pay again to get someone to look at it and that their engineer had advised a replacement which I had refused and that it was all detailed in the engineer report. Of course, I had never received the engineer report as they had the wrong email address for me, and if I had received it, I would have challenged the false statements the engineer had included in it. I immediately made a complaint, which they dismissed as they had video evidence that supported the fact I was lying about what the engineer told me. They didn't follow their own 3 step complaints process, they are not a member of any external ombudsmen or complaints scheme. So, when they defraud you and dismiss your claim, you have nowhere to go. Oh and of course they later admitted they didn't have any video evidence and claiming they had was a mistake, but they still didn't refund me the £150 or admit any wrongdoing. Literally the worst company I have ever dealt with. read more

Pimlico's plays tactics of intent to deceive, does zero technical work, yet charges for bullshit advice Pimlico sent a plumber to my place to fix slow water problem, who did zero technical work but instead advised "Found booster pump burned out...... install new at cost of £589 + £125 labour" - but that was a blatant lie, we sent a copy of time stamped video showing that the pump worked perfectly fine. Figured out in fact there was just a simple airlock, which was solved with mere tap opening and vacuum easing off after open/close/re-open. Furious to see tactics of their intent to deceive, they saw the opportunity to exploit a vulnerable family with a little baby - and then sent me invoice of £150 for this deception. There was no technical service conducted by their plumber, and their website said no callout charges - but that was also a gross misrepresentation. read more

Avoid at all costs! Pimlico Plumbers responded quickly after my call, but that's where the positives end. I was charged £1,500 for a repair that didn't fix the issue. The engineer replaced valves without properly diagnosing the problem, the leak continued exactly the same, and they even tried to charge me more for a second visit. I later hired another plumber who correctly identified and fixed the real issue in just 30 minutes ! It's now clear I was misled and overcharged for unnecessary work. Poor communication, no accountability, and completely untrustworthy. Avoid at all costs. read more

CALL OUT SCAM CHARGE They charge £150 for a 'call out'. This consisted of the plumber arriving and looking at the job. Said he couldn't do it there and then and they'd quote me. He had NO intention of doing any work. He was in my flat less than 10 minutes I've complained about this and they have stated that the £150 is for an 'ASSESSMENT' and does not mean any work will take place. I complained. The guy just said to read their T&Cs on their website. we chased the quote for 4 days. Eventually it arrived stating 2 plumbers were needed for a day. £2k Just had the work done by 1 man in 1.5 hours. Cost £200. if they can charge £150 to walk in a flat, do nothing and walk back out after 10 minutes then quote a ridiculous amount then they are going to make a fortune. read more

Absolutely dishonest and disingenuous, I would recommend anyone considering using them for ease and speed (as we did) to not. Fraudulent and unfair trading standards! The engineers have lied, the company refuses to investigate fully and also fails to adhere to their own policies. We've been left with property damage and have to fix the issue ourselves at our own cost. Had work done at our property approx 6 months ago which led to a flood in our basement due to, what we believe, is a faulty product that they selected and installed (no alternatives or comparisons or explanations provided at the time). The flood ultimately led to damage to floor (floorboards raised, warped and floating) and extreme damp and moisture. We requested, which we consider reasonable, an industrial dehumidifier and just cheap but sturdy replacement flooring. We ignored damage don't to our belongings in the basement. The original engineer who performed the work promised us it would be fixed and replaced when he attended to assess the basement and damage. After he left he submitted a summary report which did not match with what we discussed and also contained outright lies about what was discussed between us. After a few phone calls Pimlico then sent a second engineer a day later. He acknowledged that there may be a fault within the product installed but did not take it apart to find out. He equally acknowledged that the setup of the works was unusual and he would have recommended adjusting that, which we weren't told or offered 6 months prior. Pimlico themselves then stated there was no liability and the investigation was complete on the basis of their engineers reports, which were manifestly unjust and incomplete at best. Pimlico also told me after my initial complaint they consider the matter closed, that I had no ability to escalate internally after Stage 1 given the circumstances. This goes against their own advertised complaints policy and procedure on their website and is unfair and avoidance of their own faults and liabilities. Pimlico also suggested my only recourse was through my own insurance against the engineers insurance. Despite the fact my contract is with Pimlico. They have also continually failed to provide me reports completed by the engineers and any contact details of the engineers insurance. All in all, a scam company with awful customer service and dishonesty and unfairness at all levels. I would avoid at all costs. read more

A disgusting disgrace - a scam company. If i could give them -10 stars I would. They charge you £150 just to turn up. Then their plumber is an idiot who stands there swearing the whole time. He goes away and gets the wrong part. He says he will call me back. He does not. They charge £150 for the second visit despite not having done a single thing on the first visit. The repair is done incorrectly meaning I have to get a different company to come and fix it. Pimlico refuse to come back to fix it without charging more and more and more money. Their engineer lied relentlessly when faced with me pointing out his utter incompetence. They refuse to give me a refund for overcharging me. After threats of legal action they agree to refund part of the money. It has been three weeks since they say they paid it and it has not come through. They refuse to tell me why, or any of the details of where they allegedly refunded the money to. Their customer service and management are stupid, arrogant, greedy and thick. I still do not have my refund almost a month later. This company are disgusting crooks, scammers, an utter disgrace. Do not EVER use them - they should be shut down. read more

Wolf in sheep's clothing Unfortunately Pimlico Plumbers have left me no choice but to leave a scathing review after my recent experience with them. Tom Ralls came to fix a leak into the flat below and the pipe blockage that caused it. He replaced the faulty pipe part to fix the leak but after he left the pipes were still blocked. I was told on the phone that follow-up work would be free so I booked him in again. However when he arrived he told me blockages are not guaranteed so I cancelled the job but he still charged me! PP rescinded this fee but I was still left with a frankly extortionate bill for a simple job that wasn't even completed correctly. My sense is that Tom acted out of spite after I suggested he messed up the job. He claims he showed me the sink filling to the brim and draining before he left which is a 100% lie. PP told me he took photos of the sink draining but have ignored my request to see this evidence. Somehow according to Tom the blockage moved down the pipes during 3 days I didn't use them as I was at a wedding. I also found him lying in other ways like inflating his work hours on the invoice, which he sent to my neighbour with slur against me to make me look bad, and he even denied a glove he left behind was his (though he took it anyway)! I titled the review "wolf in sheep's clothing" because Tom was on the face of it very charming and professional. But it turns out he was a classic predatory salesman and saw an opportunity to try and sell a whole new kitchen to my landlady, who fortunately saw through him calling PP "a total rip-off company". Perhaps that's why he was distracted from the job he was hired for I suggested. I was just then going through a very stressful period with the death of a close friend and heavy work pressures and a wedding I was due to attend that day so I believe he saw me as a vulnerable sheep to prey on. I would say that Pimlico Plumbers are fine to use if nothing goes wrong and you're willing to pay an overpriced fee. However if something does go wrong they will make it their business to deny responsibility. I am still shocked Tom did not have the honour to simply run the pipe cleaning again but left and slapped me with a £190 bill for a 5 minute visit (which he put down as 35 minutes). I am now considering legal action as PP are now dismissing me and I'm inspired to deliver justice. They were keen to quote their terms and conditions about not guaranteeing work but not the part about giving customers peace of mind! read more

Commissioned this company to perform a heating survey at my flat. The option they provided after the 'survey' was A) impossible to actually perform within the building and B) almost £10k, which is far away from a reasonable option for the issue that I am experiencing. I asked the company for alternative options and they have since ignored me, going on almost 3 months. Not a single alternative, reasonable options has been provided. I have requested a refund and magically I am being responded to by several people, who are refusing to speak to me on the phone. The company seem to pride themselves as a reasonable, down-to-earth company that cater to any job, big or small, but they will provide you with outlandish quotes and then act as if they are doing you a favour. Avoid unless you are desperate at 3am and they are the only ones answering the phone. read more

The 'plumber' suggested 2 days to install a toilet but spent most of day 1 replacing one tile. day 2 was spent removing rubbish from fixing the tile from day one and attaching a tap to the basin. my priority of having a working toilet was not met and the cost , just under £3K This company are experts at ripping people off- and their customer service is non existent The whole experience has been traumatic, bad for my mental health and a total waste of money. Had a pleasure today to know Pimlico Plumbers - could perhaps easily win the worst customer service provider in the country. Contacted drainage engineers due to an emergency and they confirmed they can come between 12-18pm and asked for a prepayment of £180 over the phone. At 15:40 i get a call letting me know that they will no longer be able to come today but can rearrange for tomorrow. I asked what compensation can we get if they come back tomorrow provided i was waiting for 4hours and they had charged us already for the service they couldn't deliver. They reply was that 'the actual h rate was meant to be £200 + VAT so the quote i received over the phone earlier was incorrect but they can still keep the £180 for the first hour and then charge £240 (inc of VAT). I thought they are joking. Not only they charged me for the service they couldn't deliver, made me wait 4 hours, but also increased the price, rather than resolve the situation they created. Very disappointing. read more

I would give 0 stars if that was an option, extremely poor service given the premium prices they are charging. AVOID. I asked them to fix a dripping shower. I explained that I was prepared to pay for them to visit and advise on how to fix it. On 20 March engineer visited and stated they could not identify the require part. This cost £144. They quoted £3400 to replace the whole shower. I then contacted shower manufacturer (Hansgrohe ) myself and found the correct part - cost £280. On 5th April a 2nd engineer came and attempted to fit the replacement part but was unsuccessful. They didn't leave the part behind even though it was supplied by me. This visit costs £576 and all they did was remove the existing shower fittings. I asked for a quote to get the job finished, as having come this far I though they could finish it. However no quote has been forthcoming. I have been promised it twice. I have contact the office twice by phone, twice by email and texted the engineer on this mobile. A complete waste of time and money. I also note that for both visits that did take place I was promised a confirmation email about the visit and didn't get one so had to phone on the morning of the appointment to check they were coming. For these prices they need to do much much better. Very disappointing. read more

Absolutely shocked by their unprofessionalism. I thought I was paying more for good service. I got them to change my whole boiler a few months ago. An error message came up so I called them in again. We agreed that there would be no charge if the problem came from the boiler. The engineer spent a few minutes at my house and barely did anything, blaming it on the boiler waste pipe, saying it was incorrectly set up. He didn't fix it and charged me for a whole hour's work. I emailed to challenge the bill and asked for a phone call to come to an agreement. They never called and even got extremely condescending by email. Eventually they sent the bills to the collectors, lying and saying they never managed to get hold of me. Extremely disappointed and disheartened that I spent so much money with them on that boiler. read more

I called them for a very simple job to fix the water leaks from the radiator's valve. The engineer who came around my place spent 10mins checking the radiator's valve and other unnecessary parts at first. Then he told me that he has to go shopping for the parts. And he returned to my place with empty hands and told me he needed to go to another shop. Obviously, he tried to extend as much time as possible to charge me more without doing anything. And he also told me that he needs to charge 25% markup for the shopping he does. Soon after he told me that, I told him to leave immediately and made complaints to the service team. However, the service team told me they still needed to charge me £125 plus VAT even though there was no service. What a rip-off company....... I will never call them again. read more

If this company is the most efficient in London we are completely finished and need to scrap every company and start all over again. My roof had a leak in the chimney, so I contacted pimlico, BIG MISTAKE!! Paid them over £100 to come out and was told they would assess the situation and fix it on an hourly basis. The "engineer" came out and sent me "recommendations" that mention me having a leaking roof and that it needs repair... no shit Sherlock!! One week later my roof is still leaking and pimlico cannot get in contact with their freelancer. No invoice received and no date of a return to fix the issue. Meanwhile my tenant has rain water dripping down his bedroom wall every time in rains in January in rainy London and not to mention the continual damage taking place on my property. As I'm writing this review just now they called me telling me the engineer can return in two weeks time and that the job will take 4 days and 2 men to repair it. (It's a leak in the chimney) basically engineer doesn't want to work. Won't be using pimlico again unfortunately. Zero stars if it was an option. read more

On 8 Feb I made an appointment with Pimlico to fix my boiler. They charged me £150 for the work. I filled out a Pimlico contact form explaining that the timer wasn't working properly. The engineer arrived and I had to explain the problem with the timer again. He then made a phone call to someone, asking what he should do, and then told me that I would need a new timer and he would order one. There was nothing else he could do till he got the new timer. I explained that I had written all this down on the contact form, so he should have known what the problem was. Also that I had paid £150 and he had stayed for 15 minutes and not actually done any work. He said the money I had paid was a call out charge! (The Pimlico Plumbers website clearly states on the Rates page "No call out fee". ) I made a complaint to Pimlico's Customer Services. Their Consumer complaint resolution policy states that We aim to respond to all complaints within 48 hours. 12 days later there was still no response. When I attempted 3 times to phone Customer Services, I was put through to the wrong department and then they hung up on me. I sent a second complaint and then they deigned to respond to my first complaint, saying "Please note that a call-out fee is a fee charged for the call out in addition to any labour charges for the visit. We do not charge any call-put fees, you have been charged the minimum charge of on hour for the engineer's visit to your property, assessment, and professional advice." So let me get this straight. I paid £150 for the Pimlico engineer to tell me what I had already told him in writing. Because they carry no parts , I then would have to pay out at least another £150 for him to come back and actually do the job At this point I cancelled the job. read more

1. They charge labour hours to drive to the store to buy parts - imagine paying someone £120/hour for them to go to the store. When I complained they told me it's "part of the terms and conditions" 2. The plumber drilled holes in the bathroom through to the bedroom wall and left screws sticking through 3. The plumber took extra time to complete the work because they charge by the hour. Rather hire a plumber that quotes for the job upfront. 4. The plumber left before 2pm, but charged me until 2.30pm on the invoice. 5. Much more discussion has gone on about the above with their complaints department who is entirely unhelpful and will not provide any proof that the charges are correct, apart from admitting that the van left the property earlier than charged for on one of the days they were there. read more

AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH If a heating engineer called Robert Griffiths turns up at your door to attend to your boiler, DO NOT LET HIM IN. Everything about my experience with Pimlico Plumbers was a nightmare. Everything. It has taken me a lot of mental energy to come back and write this review because I was completely ripped-off, to the tune of almost £3,000. What makes the whole thing even more sickening is that when I wrote and challenged a third invoice, without bothering to respond to me, they sent my details to a debt collector. I receive an email from Oriel Collections about a 'debt collection notice', which was apparently already accumulating interest. Is it not a basic consumer right to be able to challenge the amount you're being charged because it is not what was agreed in the verbal contract upfront? Is it then classed as 'bullying' to pass my details to a debt collection agency without even responding to the email I'd sent saying that the work had not been delivered as agreed? To provide more context, my boiler had an error code flash up a couple of days before Christmas. It had happened a few days earlier too but the company I'd organised to look at the issue (not Pimlico Plumbers) fixed it and did a full check of the boiler, slightly adjusted one of the levels and told me everything was in good working order. OK - so the error came back again a few days later and due to availability (this is a couple of days before Christmas), I decided to 'pay the higher hourly rate' and have Pimlico Plumbers come and have a look. What a big, expensive mistake to make. I assumed with Pimlico Plumbers having the long history they do and with the higher hourly rate etc. they would be a trustworthy company to deal with. That they would have high standards, good morals, great customer service; that I would be treated fairly and with respect. How wrong I was. Never before in my life have I experienced such complete abuse of trust and then been bullied and threatened when I informed them that the service I received was not acceptable. During the initial visit, the heating engineer, Robert Griffiths, declared my boiler unsafe. He switched it off just before Christmas and told me that he would need to come back the next day to fit a 'neutraliser' and a new Saniflo unit. Quoted £1,450 for the work (after the initial £216 callout fee) he told me this would make my boiler safe. Wanting my heating and hot water on again before Christmas, I agreed. Robert Griffiths attended my property for a second visit and carried out the work. He insisted on running the washing machine on a full cycle to check the new unit was working and then spent almost an hour in his van doing the invoice. I was charged almost £1,700 for this visit. This isn't the end of the story however. At the end of the second visit, Robert Griffiths decides that my boiler is still unsafe. This time telling me that because he can't see the full length of the flue, he can't check for leaks and therefore my boiler needs to remain switched off and he will have to come for a third visit to replace electrodes and seals. Bearing in mind that my boiler had been attended to by a different company only a few days earlier and the gas levels were all declared 'A-OK' (this other company has also been in the business for c. 40 years), this didn't stack up to me at all! I was quoted £400 for the work, which would be parts and two hours work. At this stage I really thought - ok - replace the seals and electrodes and charge me the £400 and let's just get my boiler back on. Two days without heating or hot water was already causing issues and I didn't want to be without over Christmas. Imagine my shock when I get an invoice for over £1,000 for the third visit! OK now imagine the look on my face when I get home and see that the heating engineer, Robert Griffiths has also thought it was ok to leave a big gaping hole in my ceiling! I wasn't even told he would be making a hole. It is not a nice, neat hole either, it looks as though he took a hammer it. JUST WHO thinks it is good customer service to think that the job is finished when you walk away leaving a big hole in the ceiling? I am still in absolute shock. And this, along with guidance I'd since taken from Citizen's Advice, is what I was disputing with Pimlico Plumbers when they sent my details to the debt collection agency Oriel Collections. I wanted Pimlico Plumbers to explain in writing why my boiler had been deemed unsafe two nights in a row, I wanted the hole in my ceiling fixed and I wanted Pimlico Plumbers to take responsibility for the cost of doing this. They refused, on both counts. You see, I've since had it confirmed that all the work was unnecessary. My boiler sits on an external wall, the condense goes to foul waste and the company who were there the week before shared their report with me declaring that gas levels had been checked and were all 'safe'. read more

I had a leak at my new property in Edgware Road and two of the Pimlico Plumbers team arrived and spent around 5 hours trying to figure out where it was coming from. In the end they concluded there is no leak from my property which was great, but I was presented with a bill of £1700 I had to pay there. I paid it part in cash and part or card. A week or so later I got several calls from their collections department that I still owed £300 as they had not included any VAT when I settled the works on the day. In short be mindful what you're charged for and when you pay as it seems they have poor systems, are possibly not trained on how to use them or are incompetent regarding charges. The job they needed to do was fine however they are expensive and to me seem to have hidden charges which appear even after you have paid what was asked for. Mistakes can happen but I was clearly told if I don't pay the extra charges my details would be passed over to debt collectors. That's Pimlico Plumbers, not owning up to own errors and well its your problem you got to deal with it and pay. Id suggest looking for a cheaper alternative unless you really have to have them out and well will be paying for it. read more

This was to connect a brand new gas hob which had been fitted to an existing gas pipe under the hob which had been capped and to do a safety check on a newly fitted real coal gas fire in the lounge. The Engineer, Ali attended on time and immediately went to view the work area. I had prepared the work area by removing the drawers in this brand new kitchen and revealing the gas pipe. Ali looked at the hob and asked if I had the fittings I was able to give him the valve which the supplier had provided and said that it is as you see and said that he must have the fittings as it is a simple job. He also asked for parking. I explained that the house wasn't lived in and that it was residents only parking but he could get parking at a store around the corner as this was a quick job. Ali arrived at 13.50hrs and left at 14.00hrs and didn't return until 15.04hrs. (All timed on my phone). He then commenced the work on the Hob which took less than half an hour. Ali then told me that he needed to inform me that we were now up to two hours. I said what do you mean? You have been away for an hour, the job is half an hour at most. He said that he needed to go and get the fittings, I was not happy, why did he not bring fittings to fit a standard Hob as I had told them on booking the job. These fittings are standard. I rang the Pimlico Plumber despatch and discussed this with their team and was assured that the time would be reduced. Disappointingly, this was not done. The safety check was as expected £150. In all I was invoiced for over £550. Consequently, I was charged £400 for a job which Check a Trade recommends as a £100 to £200 at the most job. I was charged twice this amount. The shame is that Ali did a great job. The work was top rate but I was massively over charged. I would have used them again but I can not afford this kind of overcharge as a lowly Ambulance Driver. I have been very disappointed that the assurances given to me by the dispatch operator were not honoured. Such a shame. 31st October 2023. having now had a few weeks of correspondence between Pimlico Plumbers and myself the assurance in their initial reply of them wanting to resolve the issue were I am afraid empty words. In fact they made the situation worse as `I was sent a receipt that the fitter submitted for materials. The receipt listed numerous items only a few of which were used. I list them below: 4 X End Feed Street Elbow Only 1 was used. £0.40 4 X End Feed Elbow. None used £0 2 X Rigid fan compression gas cocks. 1 used £5.50 2 X Compression coupling joints. Both used £3.00 3 X 1 Meter length of 15mm copper pipe £2.90 Only a short length was used (Less than 2 feet) I make that £11.80 + 20% VAT totalling = £14.16. Not the £69.57 which was charged. I have yet to be provided with a proper itemised invoice for the supposed materials used. I have shown this job to an independent gas fitter and his exact words were "You've been robbed mate!" He stated that the work was competent but that he keeps all the parts in this work on his van as standard and if he didn't have them for some reason he certainly wouldn't charge a client to go and fetch them as it would be expected of him to have them on his van. He stated that connecting a gas hob is a breeze and that he would charge £120. The upshot is that Pimlico Plumbers have refused to reimburse me for the time wasted by their engineer. They tried to say that they had tracking on his van and confirmed his timings, what's that got to do with it, he could have been sitting having his lunch, but they missed the point, he shouldn't have needed to leave in the first place, the parts should have been in the van. I would say under the circumstances to avoid them, unless you don't care what you pay. Go to a good local guy. I and my family have a few places in and around London and we will be using another company or an independent fitter next time. That goes for our close circle of friends all of whom own their own properties and will now avoid them as well. It's just bad business on the part of Pimlico Plumbers. I have a good deal more work to do in the house and they have lost a good amount of potential business now. I have reported this incident to Citizens Advice Bureau and they have in turn informed me that they have referred it to trading standards. If I had the time I would take this case to the small claims court but my life is just too busy for that right now. Instead, I will put it down to experience and accept that they were happy to rip off a retired veteran in this way. read more

Avoid at all costs. I had a toilet that needed a simple part replaced. The plumber lied to me multiple times and tried to charge me over £885 to fix a toilet!!! - he lied about the parts he bought, charging me for a part that was never used, this I managed to prove when I eventually got him to send a picture of the receipt (clearly showing a random part). - he lied and overcharged me for the time he was away from the flat getting the parts. This was only refunded once I got hold of the vehicle tracking to prove I was overcharged. - I was double charged VAT on the parts used and the part that wasn't used. - the tiles next to the toilet were left damaged and no refund was given for this, even though I had before and after photos. - when the plumber took payment over the phone he confirmed the total price, but it wasn't, he lied yet again, I only saw this on my bank statement. When I called back he said he had forgotten to add VAT. Only after multiple emails with their customer service I was eventually offered a refund of £174 and no compensation for the damaged bathroom floor. There was no call to apologies, it was left for me to prove that I had been lie too. read more

Pimlico serviced our boiler (which they installed just over two years ago) on Thursday afternoon. On Saturday the boiler broke. Pimlico sent an engineer on Sunday to repair it - a simple adjustment to water pressure that took less than 15 minutes. We were then charged, and charged Sunday rates, for the repair of an issue clearly resulting from the service. Their refusal to take responsibility is shortsighted and unethical. Poor service to long-term loyal customers. Beware. read more

Came out to fix a slow leak on a toilet system. £120 upfront for up to one hour. Fixed one possible cause of the leak (approx 15mins work) but did not solve the leak. Being a slow leak it's hard to tell straight away if the problem is solved. Phoned one day later to report the system still leaking. Told I would have to pay £120 again for them to come out. Appalling service. Spent over 30mins on the phone trying to get resolved on and off hold whilst they talk to management only to be told there is nothing they can do if I'm not willing to pay again, and on asking to speak with management I'm told "management don't talk to customers". read more

I had a boiler service and was told a gasket needed replacing. I asked the engineer to replace it and he went to get the part. He did not reduce the charge for the considerable time he was absent and I paid without checking times properly. When I phoned to complain I was told his vehicle tracker showed he had been away fromy property for 40 minutes. I believe he was absent from my flat for more like 75-90 minutes. There should have been a reduction in cost for this. The customer service woman who phoned me back was unpleasant and had no time for my story, saying things like "I know you asked how the van tracker works" - what was she implying by that? My experience is that if you have a fixed-rate boiler service with this company (I will never use this company again) do not get them to carry out any additional work needed as you may be overcharged. read more

Very good service! They are pricey, but they are doing an excellent work. I had a problem with the boiler (there was no hot water) and the engineer promptly fixed it on a Sunday morning. He also explained the cause for some other heating related issues in my apartment which was very helpful. Also when calling them to visit my flat I didn't have to listen to music and/or speak to a robot for XX minutes before talking to a human. I immediately spoke to an operator which was great because I hate wasting my time waiting on the phone. read more

Such a let down. After doing a good job then proceeded to promise me quotes for a big job. After discussing with the plumber for an hour what I wanted then never heard from them again! Had to ask for customer loyalty card but when I wanted to use was told to keep an eye on the website for offers! Loyal customers receive the same discount as new customers(!). The advertised up to 25% off for repeat customers is a complete con as doesn't exist. read more

I called for a plumber because my boiler circuit had tripped out and there was evidence of dampness near a motorised valve. The plumber came near the end of the 8am-2pm slot the following day, and quickly identified a leaky air admittance valve dripping into an electrical junction. He asked to borrow a hairdryer to dry the junction out and said he would replace the valve. Simple job? Not so. Apparently not satisfied with the cost of the job, he then went looking for problems. He said that there might be a leak in the flue (despite there being a carbon monoxide detector 6 inches away that had never been triggered), so disassembled that to install new seals, but then said it had been incorrectly installed and needed to be replaced but he couldn't get the parts until next day, so left leaving the gas disconnected because he said it wasn't safe. He returned the following afternoon to install a new flue, but at 6pm said that there must be another leak from the flue trap at the back of the boiler (which was less than 5 years old), and again left leaving the gas disconnected saying it wasn't safe. He retuned the following morning and spent 4 hours draining down the system so he could install new seals on the flue trap. After this he seemed satisfied with the bill he had racked up and said the job was finished. The total cost of £2,000+ - 10+ hours of work and £460 in parts for which there was no explanation, comfortably exceeded the cost of a buying and installing a brand new boiler. So if you have a leaky valve and £2,000 pounds you don't need, by all means call Pimlico Plumbers and they will solve both of your problems. If you have a plumbing problem but not money you don't need, I strongly recommend calling somebody else. read more

I had an experience with Pimlico Plumbers recently that I found bizarre. We had a leak from a shower on the first floor; water was coming through the ceiling into the kitchen on the ground floor below. I mailed Pimlico asking them to take a look. When Pimlico has called in the past, they have cured the relevant problem and then recommended some kind of ancillary work. And as long as the main job has been done, I have gone along with this; a plumber needs to earn where he can, just like the rest of us. It may even be helpful; I have to take their word for it. They came soon and went to work while I was at the office. My wife gave them the number to call me at work so that the plumber could recommend his extras, which involved some kind of new pipe above the kitchen. As usual I said, yes, go ahead. When I arrived home from work I read the description of what Pimlico had done and saw the bill, which came to around £2,300. There was no mention of fixing any leak. There had been some sealing work done in the shower and a new pipe over the kitchen but nothing that looked like they had attempted to cure a leak. A couple of days later I sent Pimlico a video of water streaming through the kitchen ceiling. A senior individual visited and appeared to me concerned. Next he bought a plumber to run some tests. This came up blank; they were unable to determine the cause of the leak. They said they would have follow up with a trace and access and that would cost £3,000 but, given what had gone on before, Pimlico could consider a discount on further work. I discussed that with my insurance company, who said that sounded rather expensive and they would expect the price to be in the £300 to £400 range. I then called Plumb London. I paid a little around £120 for one of their plumbers to look at the leak and diagnose the problem. The diagnosis was in line with what the insurance company had guessed it would be, just by listening to my description of the problem over the phone. Curing and restoring involved pipe and tap work, removing tiles and retiling, sealing and grouting, followed by installing new shower screens. This came to around £2,000. Had I continued with Pimlico, I would have been paying over £5,000 before any work on a leak had been started. There have been no problems since. Plumb London also fixed the new pipe above the kitchen that Pimlico had installed but was leaking. Pimlico tell me that I do not have a complaint because the work was "authorized" and they had offered a discount on future work. It seems easy to offer a discount when your quote is many multiples of the market price. My objection remained that I had not called them to carry out the work of their choice; that ancillary business has to be earned; and that whatever work they did in the shower was of no value to us because we had to undo it to fix the leak. I wanted my money back. The last mail I had from Pimlico gave a version of events that I saw as incorrect. I have gone back with corrections. I am happy to continue discussions with Pimlico but Pimlico has stopped responding. read more

Summary: Bit better prices than other similar companies we contacted, fair treatment, good service, were not able to give me the exact hour when they arrive only a time range of up to four hours Why did we call them? When the washing machine in the apartment we are renting broke down less than two months after we moved in, we thought that after persuading our landlord to buy a new one, installing it would be the simplest thing ever. We were wrong. Soon we discovered that our apartment doesn't have any central cock to stop water supply and that most of the many partial valves don't work. Among these not functioning cocks were also the two stop-valves controlling the water supply to the washing machine. That meant any effort to unscrew and attach the water supply hoses to the new washing machine would result in flooding the whole kitchen. As the landlord didn't respond to our inquiries, we decided to act by ourselves (the pile of unwashed laundry in the bathroom was quickly growing). We turned to internet, called a few companies and eventually decided for Pimlico Plumbers. One of the reasons we chose them was that among all the overpriced plumbers of London, these seemed to offer slightly better prices (even though the difference wasn't big). With the added value tax, the price per hour was about 100 pounds during the weekdays, extra charges for the weekend and you also have to pay for any material required. As I work from home most of the time, we arranged for the plumber to come on Monday morning. They weren't able to give me the exact hour, more of a time range, so I had to be on call the whole morning. A friendly guy dressed in a blue uniform arrived at about ten o clock, introduced himself as Bill and started exploring our problem. He stopped after less than 15 minutes and told me to call the landlord. He explained that the valves are not working at all and need to be replaced. To do this, the pipe needs to be frozen. This operation, however would take up to four hours and, as he understood we were only renting the place, the costs should be covered by the landlord. I appreciated his fair treatment. The landlord, however, said, he wants to call his own plumber so I sent Bill away. We left London for Christmas and expected that upon our return two weeks later, the problem would be solved. It wasn't. We called Pimlico again and asked for this particular Bill plumber to come and change our valves. Once again, they weren't able to give us the exact time and once again I had to be on call from 10 am to 2 pm. This time, the plumber arrived quite late. However once here, he changed the valves quite quickly, installed the new washing machine, checked whether everything works and shared his concern that our landlord is a jerk. He finished in two and half hours, which was less than expected. Still it cost us some 300 pounds.... At least, after more than a month, we were finally able to do the laundry. read more

Good workmen but appallingly rude, offensive and aggressive customer service staff. I have now used this company twice. I will never use them again. Unfortunately the second time I used Pimlico Plumbers, the repair carried out on my boiler only lasted for seven weeks before it started leaking again. As I had paid £660 to have the boiler fixed I phoned the company to see if I could get someone to take another look at the boiler. I didn't phone to ask for a refund, nor to complain about the rate charged - I just wanted to get my boiler working properly and I was perfectly happy to pay another call out fee if need be. I received a call back from a lady called Sam, who instead of arranging to get a plumber out to see if the boiler could be repaired again, went straight on to the offensive. She told me that I couldn't get a refund and that the work was not under guarantee. She also told me that paying £660 for a repair to last 7 weeks was totally reasonable. She did however offer to send out a plumber to do an estimate for me to get a new boiler fitted! If you do choose to use this company don't believe the 'Pimlico Promise' and don't expect them to honour any guarantee but do pray that you don't have to deal with their 'customer service' staff. read more

I recently instructed Pimlico Plumbers to come and fix a faulty shower which so far had stumped three other plumbers. I was despondent. Yet another day off work, more money down the plughole.but then John Sayner arrived from Pimlico Plumbers punctual and with a smiling face, he took off his shoes to walk on our carpet and he was really polite and he had a sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble and he didn;t make sucking noises through his teeth like a lot of plumbers. I crossed my fingers that his work would live up to expectations. Could I be so lucky to find a plumber who could do the job and was a pleasure to deal with, surely not! but oh yes, John was FANTASTIC!!! did the job, fixed the problem and cleaned up!! And then when i mentioned that I had a problem with a leaking roof he offered to look at that as well, not only did he find the problem but he fixed it. Of course I had to pay but it saved me so much money because he was on site AND he fixed my bath seal at the same time . Ok it was expensive but worth every penny. Well Done John Sayner you are a gem and a credit to Pimlico Plumbers. Yes I will recommend to anybody great service." read more

I would like to commend you for the excellent service provided by your company in our hour of need. With a boisterous 2 year old and a pregnant wife I was at my wits end with my unreliable combi boiler. A local plumber had patched it up several times, but finally it gave up the ghost I had to replace it. I decided that if the job was worth doing, it was worth doing properly so I contacted Pimlico Plumbers, I was delighted that you were able to supply an engineer (Jeff Brown) on my doorstep within 1/2 hour. He was obviously well trained, experienced and professional. He was able to explain the options cleary to me and instilled great confidence that he'd do a proper job. And so it was. The brand new boiler was installed and working by the following evening. The engineer worked tidily whilst in our home, and did an excellent job of making good at the end of the fitting. He also took the time to explain the workings of the system and to properly complete the paperwork. I will not hesitate to use Pimlico for any plumbing needs in the future, and will certainly recommend your company to friends. Mr Brown is an excellent ambassador for your company. read more

BEST PLUMBER IN LONDON - 4 sure! Maybe even whole of UK.. I had a visit from the ' most senior ' plumber (this is how i requested it) a month ago to give me the tenth plumber opinion what to do about my non functioning second hand (big mistake!!) megaflo vented system (or so?) and radiators that didnt work. The problem is that im part of an ex local council estate and hot water and gas comes from a communal boiler house. Ok way too much info that i wished i never had to know myself even. Bottom line: All plumbers gave me different advice but no one could fix it. Then there came Rob Solari who promised the same but DID FIX IT. And more; he found out the system was connected to the electricity hence my huge electricity bill. I told him i would wait a month to post my review to truly observe if he is the magician he promised to be. One month on it all still works like magic. Pimlico is not cheap but its definitely worth investing in a good plumber (time and moneywise). Rob is a great sweet neat person too which was a nice addition to his excellent brain. read more

This morning at around 10am I came off my scooter on Westminster Bridge Road. One of your staff was driving a Pimlico Plumbers truck with the license plate 'FIX WC' in front of me when the incident happened. Whilst the incident was absolutely no fault of his, he showed great kindness by stopping his vehicle and rushing back to help me. In fact, he was so quick to assist that he was by my side before I knew what had happened. He then proceeded to help me up, get my bike to the kerb and sat me down on a nearby wall. He only left once he know that I was ok. I am writing to you firstly to tell you that you have in your employment a very caring citizen who has given me renewed faith in humanity. Secondly to pass on my heartfelt thanks to this gentleman and to tell him that I really appreciate him stopping to help. This may seem a little over the top to write to you for such a minor incident but please bear in mind that he was the only driver on this busy road to stop and assist. Thanks and keep on employing people like him. read more

I wanted to thank your organization. More specifically I wanted to commend the work of David who has now done three jobs for us. He's an amazing asset to your organization. David's work has always been top quality. The last job he really pulled out all the stops. He managed to do a really neat piece of work on our gutters together with some repairs to damage to our building caused by the gutter problem. I had many other people quote the job and walk away as it looked too complex. Not David, he came up with three options, discussed those with me and we agreed on a preferred route. He then got on doing his usual quality work. He needs to know that the work looks great and it works last downpour our roof managed to drain without any problem. I realise that you are a little more expensive than the competition. However, I have no hesitation in using you or recommending you. I know in the long run the money is well spent.Well done as it not often that one has the chance to commend goodservice." read more

I will defiantly be using Pimlico again! I called PP out due to a small drip from our bath mixer that has been happening for quite a while (we used to mask the dripping noise by hanging a scruffy sponge over the taps) but we finally thought it was time to repair our problem tap! The lady on the phone (who's name I can not remember) was very helpful and told me someone would be able to be there within the hour! Unfortunately I was out at that time so I requested for a later date and it got booked in for between 2-6 with an half an hours notice call before arrival. As promised, at 2:45 I got a call to say the engineer was on the way to me (this was very helpful as I knew just when to expect company). When James arrived he was very polite and helpful, he fixed my drippy tap quickly and also helped me with getting a quote for a whole new referb for my bathroom that I have been thinking to do for quite a while - Now I have my quote I will be sure to call them once I have the money to do so! I hired Pimlico to resolve a blocked drainage issue at my home, and my experience has been far from satisfactory. Despite charging more than GBP 600 for their service, the drainage problem reappeared within a few days. When I contacted them for a resolution, I was informed that they don't offer any guarantee for their work and would not fix the problem without an additional fee. This was highly disappointing, given the initial high cost and the expectation of professionalism and a job well done. I am left with a recurring issue, out of pocket, and with the added inconvenience of having to seek out a new plumber to correct the problem. I would not recommend Pimlico based on my experience. read more

Thank goodness for Pimlico Plumbers!! Recently, my boiler broke down during a particularly cold spat. When you think of a domestic boiler breakdown its easy to conjure the nightmare spectre of unsatisfactory workmanship in tandem with a huge bill. But Pimlico Plumbers have restored my faith in humanity and British tradesmen generally. They did a sterling job with minimum mess or disturbance and the price they quoted was the one they stuck to. I was really impressed and would recommend them, without reserve, to anyone looking for plumbers who are reliable, reasonable, dont leave a trail of destruction behind them and have a sound knowledge of their own trade. read more

I was frightened to use them as the price list on their website is rather scary. I used them after phoning a fair few other local companies trying to find someone but getting nowhere. I was at work and needed them to move some gas pipes while the kitchen fitters were in. I called them and amazingly they turned up within a couple hours of my call. The service was excellent with calls beforehand and afterwards. The kitchenfitters said they were very quick and did a good job. I'd definitely use them again for minor work, but for big jobs I'd probably get some quotes from other places too. read more

Had a boiler that was making too much noise so got PImlico plumbers around to check it out. The guy arrived promptly and informed me I needed a replacement part and service (which seemed fair enough) but that it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. Once the part was ordered the guy came back and was good and professional. My main complaint would be that they give you a four hour window in which they will arrive which (if it's 10-2 as it was in my case) is a hefty slug of the day that you have to take off just to wait for the the plumber. Other than that pretty good. read more

Beware of Pimlico! When faced with a leak, I called them. Their plumber advised destroying my bathtub and drilling my neighbor's ceiling, which I later found out was unnecessary. Instead, a friend recommended a competent company, who fixed the issue in under two hours - surprise, the leak was under the bathtub, a full-blown waterfall! This new team skillfully repaired it, left tiles intact, and charged fairly. Pimlico's incompetence cost me around £500, broken tiles, and stress from their unnecessary actions. Tidy, polite, plumbers comes round at agreed time. Problem solved every time but VERY expensive. Some examples from last two months Over £1800 for a boiler shift (1meter) Over £400 for subsquent repair on boiler hose connector (overtighted during precious work but apparently not under guarantee) Over £400 for a toilet cystern over-flow issue Be aware that engeneer may not have parts to fix problem and will have to go them (and this may take some time). It will difficult to get parts at night. Stay focused on what has been quoted and the amount of time the job should take. read more

Just want to pass on my thanks for delivery an excellent service. Needed to fix taps in the kitchen and attach mains stopcock. Brendan Falsey arrived promptly on time and in a short time was able to locate the mains stopcock no mean feat as over the past decade other plumbers before had tried and failed to locate the main stopcock. Brendan fixed the tap, cleaned up after and provided sound recommendations. No question was ever an issue for Brendan.
