You have to hand it to the food scientist,they've been highly successful these last 6 decades. As the Frozen prepared foods industry began in earnest,learning to " make" food taste good after freezing became an obsession. Jump forward to 2025 and chances are you have a favorite out of the freezer section that you owe to those pioneers. I think my current alltime favorite is the Grands frozen biscuit! Amazing. Because of antitrust laws Pillsbury Company was broken up bought and sold and has a long 155 year financial history. You can look it up. I remember my family using many brands and Pillsbury is definitely one from my childhood. The company has a historic marketing strategy ahead of their time. I know my daughter fell in love with the Pop n Fresh Dough Boy. The commercial definitely made me smile because of his giggle. We are still eating Pillsbury delicious croissants and biscuits during the holidays. Pillsbury made it easy to make baked goods without laboring in the kitchen. Tip: It's more fact than a tip. General Mills owns Pillsbury. The company's headquarters are in Minneapolis. When I moved to Minnesota, I learned that the Pillsbury Company started up in Minneapolis. During my stay in this state, General Mills bought the company out. The headquarters of General Mills is in Minneapolis. One word: cool! I use Pillsbury crescent rolls the most. I get original and reduced fat the most, depending on whichever is on sale. They both work nicely for my needs. I often make tuna packets with them. My mom made them and I loved them as a kid. She'd pack one for me and I'd eat it during recess. So good! I also like taking hot dogs and wrapping the crescent dough around each one. I then bake them. Simple. Yummy. Happy. A few months ago, I bought a package of Pillsbury bake-and-eat cookie dough for the first time. I liked how convenient it was to take the dough, put each morsel on a baking sheet, and bake cookies. They were sweet, but delicious. I went through a phase eating Pillsbury toaster strudel eons ago. I liked the variety of fruit fillings. Each strudel came with icing. I found it super sweet, but the strudel was flaky and the filling made me happy. I should revisit toaster strudel. I haven't bought it in years. I like the Pillsbury Doughboy, too. Tee hee! I can't imagine a potluck without Pillsbury's "pigs in a blanket!" These snack bites begin with a container of refrigerated Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls. Wrap the triangles around mini sausages, or cut hot dogs and bake. Viola! This was my "go to" potluck dish, I kept them warm in a Crockpot and had toothpicks for people to select their pig. One of my family's favorite treats growing up were Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Original Icing! I can still remember the delicious smell that filled our kitchen as these beauties heated in the oven and how fun it was to smear the top of each golden roll with the yummy icing! Pillsbury also makes cake mixes, pie crusts (regular and mini sized), pizza crusts, cornbread, cookie dough and more! Its nice that Pillsbury includes air fryer instructions on their products now! In the 1960s and 1970s Pillsbury acquired the Burger King fast food chain and Green Giant, and Pillsbury was affiliated with other restaurant chains (Bennigan's, Steak and Ale, and Godfathers) until divesting all its restaurant holdings in the late 1990s.
