The rather modest outside, all in red and white, make it all the more impressive, first church here mentioned over 1100 years ago, that one we see nowadays was built 800 years ago, constructed to be the reincarnation of the New Jerusalem here in Europe, visible from all directions and at great distance, so everyone passing the Rhine Valley or the Autobahn from Cologne to Frankcort or viceversa, will not be able to avoid having an eye on it. From the distance modest and clear, at the close look one of the richest and most impressive churches I ever met, you will be surprised how rich the interior is eqipped, decorated and painted, if fact one of the richest old churches in Europe. We were told very little of Koblenz survived the war and that this was rebuilt after the war. The inside is stunningly beautiful and it would be easy enough to believe it is far older than it is. I think it is a testament to the people that rebuilt this church to their dedication to their faith.
