I had passed this place many times, but never went in. An ad came up for a beginner houseplant class, and I had to go. The class was great, and I am glad they offer it. There are other classes available, so check them out. The staff are all nice and offer to help. The layout of the store is manageable, which kept me from being overwhelmed. Prices are reasonable, and plants look awesome. Definitely will be a favorite place to add to my plants, and maintain what I already have. read more

What a fantastic place! Especially for the gardening people, which is why I took my mom on Mother's Day as she was wanting some new things for her garden. This place has everything, flowers, perennials, annuals, herbs, veggies, pots, soil, gifts, and seeds. You could spend forever here, just going through each aisle. They even have garden furniture. Nice staff on hand to help you out, and show you were what your looking for is. They are a little pricier than your average Lowe's or Home Depot garden center. What a vast selection of greenery to choose from. They have the indoor plans spaced by height. The greenhouse is vast too. All the plants are healthy and vibrant. Make sure to sign up for their spectacular sales. I got a pre potted display for $13. Usually $35 at the box stores. read more

I loooooove Pike's! This is my first time living near one and I plan to stop by often. They have so many awesome plants and plant accessories to choose from. I was able to luck up and got a plant on sale. They have a good amount of rare plants too, which is nice because those can be really hard to find these days or just too high priced. I think Pike's is reasonable, but higher than say a Lowe's. But they have indoor houseplant stuff and gardening things. Which really makes them a one stop shop. Lots of parking too. I recently planted a ton of plants from Pike for my new herb and butterfly garden, and everything is thriving and so happy! The plants here are very well taken care of, and there are a lot of unique choices for every type of garden. My favorite finds were golden yarrow, pineapple sage, and April night sage. The staff is friendly and helpful, the plants are gorgeous and there's one staff in particular, Cynthia, who is so knowledgeable and always takes time out of her day to thoroughly answer my questions (I have a lot!!) and help me to discover what my next plant should be. I enjoy shopping at Pike Nurseries. If you are not ready to work in your garden, go and scope out your options. You can consult with a staff member who are knowledgeable and can answer your questions. I stopped in yet again, simply to peruse plants for my garden. I left with about six of them. I was able to decide how to set them up and to date, I have planted two to date. It's been over 90 degrees every day so it is a slow process. I am excited to get them all in now that I have access to a post hole digger. I am already envisioning the next section to be planted. Pike has all that you need to get started. I know they also provide gardening services but I am happy to do it myself with a little help from Pike Nurseries! read more

Lovely place to walk around, but Pikes is a TOTAL RIPOFF! We compared pricing to local "home stores" and difference was ridiculous. Wish we remembered the home related stores first. I don't know if my experience could have been any better. . . I must say. In the past I have been to the location in Ballantyne when I lived on the south side but now that I am on the north side of the city that was just too far to travel so I tried this location. I went with the idea that I was going to purchase a couple Christmas gifts and was specifically looking for large floor plants. When you enter the store they have a large open area with decorations for the home and materials that you can purchase to care for your plants. I grabbed a cart and headed outside to see if they had floor plants and man-oh-man, did they. Yes they did. They had a large selection of plants and pots in all colors, shapes and sizes. I filled my cart and had to stop myself because they had so much. Surprisingly, there was no line so check-out was fast and the cashier was super friendly. She immediately called someone over to help me out to the car and the guy was so sweet and gentle with putting the big plants into my car. I cannot wait to go back in the Spring for more plants for my home. read more

I recently have a large landscaping project and had some specie ideas of plants i was seeking. Pikes was able to confirm choices and make suitable substitutes where appropriate and available. For some specific specimens, their plant specialist sourced from other nurseries as well as will keep looking for others as they become available. I really love browsing plants and getting container ideas here. It is pricey, but plants are high quality. Most of the staff have solid knowledge and are willing to offer suggestions. The stores are nicely laid out and well organized. I always find at least what I want. Do take a container with you though because they will charge for a box to put your purchases in. It's only a dollar or so, but when purchasing a couple hundred dollars worth of small plants, charging customers for a container to carry them in takes away from an otherwise lovely shopping experience. read more

I had been a customer of Pikes for many years, and decided to stop in for a few things last Saturday while I had my dog with me. Big mistake. I have a very large dog, who can be anxious, but I have been working hard on training and socializing her. She did so well in a very crowded store, until while checking out, the cashier reached over to try to pet her. She did what energetic, big dogs do tend to do and jumped up when she saw a stranger reaching toward her, then immediently sat back at my feet. Her head or collar may have grazed the employees forehead, leaving a tiny scrape. I asked her if she was ok, and she assured me she was uninjured, just had been scared. She finished ringing me up, and after making sure she was ok-I left. The next day-animal control showed up at my door. When I called and visited the store-I was met with extraordinarily rude remarks, exaggerated accusations of my dogs aggression and my negligence, and accused of fleeing the store and refusing to cooperate. 4 days later-higher management was nice enough, but my dog remains in quarantine, and I have'nt received as much as an apology from the employees who treated me like I was a criminal. Make sure to leave your dogs at home if you choose to do business here. read more

This Pikes location is absolutely phenomenal! In the past, I would go to Lowe's for all of my gardening and construction needs. While Lowes does have great deals and serves my needs for construction, pikes is the only store you should consider when you are looking for plants, flowers and outdoor decor. Their employees are extremely friendly and informative and the prices are very competitive as well. They also have a program, that is free of charge, Where are you can accumulate points for discounts and they allow for a one time replacement of any plants that do not survive after the first go around. In addition, she chose a Landscaper, Picazo Lawn and Landscaping (Rudi and his team) who are nearly completed with an organic, stone patio they're building for us as part of the design. This is a very complex project and I am happy to say we've employed a group of Artists who are executing it. I would say that Pike Nursery in Peachtree City, GA is one of the best I have ever been, well organized and with very knowledgeable staff. However, I purchased a few bags of Titan grass seeds to a good discount just to find out in spring that it was not Titan seeds. I overseeded late last September, watered three times a day for two weeks encountering a high water bill, and after about three weeks the grass started growing but was going dormant in late November, and the following spring a very light green color, whereas the real Titan grass has a very dark green color. I went back to the store bringing pictures to prove it and I was told that someone would contact me but never happened. I went back to the store and I was told again that that the manager would contact me shortly, but still no call. It has been a very disappointing experience. I was specifically looking for Titan (tall fescue) and tried avoiding this current grass because it is growing very fast and requires mowing very often. read more

I called to inquire about a landscaper to plant a tree in my front yard. I told the lady what kind of tree I wanted and the size. She said I would have to come in tell the landscape designer what I wanted and there would be a $200 charge...not to come out and do the work but to tell them what I wanted which was just one 6-7 Bloodgood Japanese maple planted in my front yard.
